Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
And now for Sellinger to accuse Wall of cyber-bullying…
Or cyber-fraud in case he wasn’t really playing; I don’t think he was, I’m sure real players could attest.
Although “fraud” is beyond the realm of what we’re seeing, are ads like this politically wise, Lance?
In other words are Saskatchewan voters expected to love this Premier (at half-time mandate) because he’s wearing a football jersey and faking a banjo chord.
One strummer judging another, “He’s doin’ his own pickin'”
Dear Saskatchewan:
Would you be willing to trade Brad Wall straight-up for Alison Redford?
Let us know, svp.
Yours Truly,
Alberta
Dear Alberta
To answer your question in the most kindest way, “Go #*$& yourself.”
Yours Truly,
Saskatchewan
I think you’re over-thinking this one a bit, glasnost. Sometimes politics seems like nothing but endless, perpetually outraged bickering, so a little inconsequential levity comes across as a welcome relief. IMO.
Dear Saskatchewan:
That’s the response we were expecting. Never hurts to ask, though.
Yours Truly,
Alberta
I can’t think of many politicians as comfortable in their own skin as Premier Wall is. He will be premier as long as he wants to be.
This little EBD and Saskatchewan exchange was hilarious.
Joel, I think you are right, as I believe we have heard him pick the banjo before.
Video: Is this an angel caught on a surveillance camera??

We shouldn’t be too hard on Manitoba. Sure both their football team and economy are inferior. Most disconcerting is that they remind us of the socialist hell-hole we used to be. But the province serves a very important purpose – a buffer zone between us and old Canada. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that every province sharing a border or near Ontario is a have-not province but why take chances?
Is any other premier or political leader in Canada less uptight than Brad Wall? The rest of them seem so grey and lifeless by comparison.
Oh, I don’t know about that. I think Dildo McDinky was comfortable in every scaly little skin he shed.
Who’s Dildo McDinky?
Dildo McDinky? = Duhlton McGuilty = Dalton McGuinty.
That’s gonna leave a mark!! Ouch!
As a bomber fan……………I’ve got nothin’. Ah well at least the bisons won?
Anyone remember the ndp, Lorne Calvert, Pat Atkinson and the rest of troup of socialists in this great province? Riders have never won a Grey Cup when they were in power. With Brad Wall and company in power life has changed for the better.
Glasnost asks, are ads like this politically wise?
Yes, but only someone like Wall could pull it off. You have to follow him on Twitter to get it, he’s very engaging on Twitter. He’s smart enough not to respond to anything but the lightest of topics, always quick with the shout-outs, and does not engage any of the detractors.
I would tell any politician to avoid social media in any real capacity. They either come off as cardboard PR cutout or get themselves in trouble. Wall is different, he actually spends time on Twitter; he knows the landscape.
This wasn’t an ‘ad’, this was Wall being Wall on Twitter. It’s who he is, so yes, this was ‘wise’. As TrueNorthist said, Wall will be premier as long as he wants. He has demographics in his favour, he has results, his policies have been born out.
As a twenty-something female said on Twitter, “Coolest Premier, ever!” Wall may just be the only conservative ever to actually court and keep the youth vote for the time when they actually decide to vote.
My Father always liked repeating that when Alberta and Saskatchewan both got there preachers (Manning and Douglas) that Albertans should always give thanks that they got Manning, not Douglas.
Well was a long time in the making but the tables have finally turned. I have had classmates that left right at the final school bell return home. This factor alone is a huge component of our current success.
Wall is doing an admirable job of leading the charge. Those that disparage him as not being conservative enough should be patient. It takes a long time to undo 60 years of damage.
As for the video. What would any Rider fan who wound up in his office do?
Go Green!
Saskatchewan . Re trade… How about Redfraud our purple tax eating Calgary Mayor Nenshi, a six pack of you choice and a coil of garlic sausage??
Being from Manitoba, I wish Wall was our Premier too, just like the Bombers, Selinger can’t overcome a deficit…..
I wish I had the paper bag concession at the Banjo Bowl tomorrow. Mind you, with a record of one and eight for the bumbling Blue, Bomber fans are contemplating putting plastic bags over their heads.
