  1. From the “Stories that won’t make Barack Obama use the word ‘Skittles‘ at a press conference” file:

WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening.

Belton, 89, died from the injuries he suffered in the beating Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center. “Shorty,” as he was known by his friends at the Eagles Lodge, served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII and was shot in the leg during the Battle of Okinawa. He went on to work at Kaiser Aluminum at the company’s Trentwood plant for more than 30 years.

  2. I understand that the featured song (“I Need a Vacation”) will be replacing “Hail to the Chief” for the rest of Obama’s presidency.

  3. Forward!

Employers around the country, from fast-food franchises to colleges, have told NBC News that they will be cutting workers’ hours below 30 a week because they can’t afford to offer the health insurance mandated by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

“To tell somebody that you’ve got to decrease their hours because of a law passed in Washington is very frustrating to me,” said Loren Goodridge, who owns 21 Subway franchises, including a restaurant in Kennebunk. “I know the impact I’m having on some of my employees.”

  4. America is so lucky the have the smartest POTUS ever.
Nothing to worry about with Barry at the helm.

  5. The unions start to turn on The One because he is going to cost them $big $bucks
“The AFL-CIO of Nevada passed a resolution demanding that its members be allowed to keep the insurance coverage they have, which is set to be made untenable under Obamacare. “[O]ur union members and their families originally offered strong political and moral support for the promise of the Affordable Care Act,” the resolution stated. But because of the law’s definition of full-time work and because the unions have been unable to get the administration to exempt union plans from the law’s insurance rules, “the unintended consequences of the ACA will lead to the destruction of the 40 hour work week, higher taxes and force union members onto more costly plans”

  7. Governor Palin “Unflippingbelievable”
Governor Palin posted the following on her Facebook page.
So, the Federal Government, er, We The People, are employing someone at the Department of Homeland Security whose side job is running a hate website advocating ethnic cleansing and other despicable acts?! This official is promoting a race war. His fellow employees say they’re “astounded” he is employed by the taxpayers. His side “job” running the “War On the Horizon” website was reportedly approved by supervisors. Really, Fed? Really?
Friends, let your government know we deserve better; we demand better. We’re paying the tab.
    Unflippingbelievable.

She links to an article over at FOX News on a DHS employee who’s running a hate website.

That’s how China conquered America; in the aisles of MalWart, without ever firing a shot.

  10. Headline of editorial at the Globe and Mail this morning:
So Trudeau smoked pot. At least he’s honest
Uh huh. He actually didn’t have to say a thing.
As so often happens, the G&M and Trudeau miss the point: It’s “honest” to break the law? As an MP, he is charged with upholding and living by the laws of the land. By admitting he smoked dope when an MP, he’s admitted he’s broken the law: Even the NDP “pundit” on Evan Solomon’s program last night pointed this out. So, Trudeau doesn’t like the law? Too bad. It’s still the law.
Toddler Trudeau’s a dunce with no discretion and the Probe and Fail is derelict in supporting this idiot’s indiscretion. Trudeau’s name and bank account delude him — and, apparently, the G&M — into thinking that he’s above the law. He’s not.

According to the article linked, global cooling was anthropogenic, and global warming was natural.

  13. It’s “honest” to break the law? Posted by: batb
Don’t confuse honesty with law abiding
Honesty refers to a facet of moral character and connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness, including straightforwardness of conduct, along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft, etc. Furthermore, honesty means being trustworthy, loyal, fair, and sincere.
Law-abiding refers to obeying or keeping the law; ie. obedient to law.

  14. Shere Khan…tootoosis is the Indian equal of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. Just another stupid, ignorant race baiter, living off the public teat. He doesn’t even get it that it is his own chiefs who are screwing the common Indian.

  15. “Communists back then pretended, like Obama today, to defend the middle class and spitefully attack the rich. But communism actually decimated the middle class and created a new power-class out of the communist faithful. It is a party built on jealousy. The communists, like the Occupy Wall Street crowd, are so jealous of the rich that they are willing to destroy the business structure of Wall Street without leaving themselves a viable path to success. Imagine those unemployed rich kids and rapists setting up a new business model on Wall Street. Failure, thy name is inexperience and youth.”

“NASA has released its latest sea ice report. These are tough times for climate alarmists. The truth is: There’s a lot more sea ice out there this year than they ever imagined.”
    “NASA makes some interesting comments.
First they tell us that Arctic sea ice is over 1.5 million sq. km above last year, and is thus at one of the highest late summer extents in the last 10 years. Surprise.
Secondly Walt Meier of NASA tells us the real reason for last year’s record minimum: storms.”

To turn, as swimmers into cleanness leaping,
Glad from a world grown old and cold and weary,
Leave the sick hearts that honour could not move,
And half-men, and their dirty songs and dreary,
And all the little emptiness of love!”

“René Guénon: The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times”
“The Reign of Quantity gives a concise but comprehensive view of the present state of affairs in the world, as it appears from the point of view of the ‘ancient wisdom’, formerly common both to the East and to the West, but now almost entirely forgotten. The author indicates with his fabled clarity and directness the precise nature of the modern deviation, and devotes special attention to the development of modern philosophy and science, and to the part played by them, with their accompanying notions of progress and evolution, in the formation of the industrial and democratic society which we now regard as ‘normal’. Guénon sees history as a descent from Form (or Quality) toward Matter (or Quantity); but after the Reign of Quantity – modern materialism and the ‘rise of the masses’ – Guénon predicts a reign of ‘inverted quality’ just before the end of the age: the triumph of the ‘counter-initiation’, the kingdom of Antichrist.”
