Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Well, it does sound grand but as much as can see a doctor cleaning drains, I dread the thought of a drain cleaner having a go at doctor’s work.
From commenter “Sam” at the link:
“Let me get this straight.
I get $30,000 whether I work or not.
So I don’t bother working because I’d rather do other things.
And because I don’t work I don’t pay the taxes that pay for everyone else’s “free” $30,000.”
That was exactly what I was about to say. Saved me the typing.
Personally,I’d go fishing and hunting.
Why can’t we do this in Canada.Hey! Wait! Maybe Justin will do this for us!
So how much more would those who work full time have to pay in taxes? I mean, to get enough money to pay for useless artists and musicians to stay home has to come from somewhere. The left, always math challenged and not living in reality.
Yet another Moron exposing that doing the exact opposite of helping human Nature , Only abetting peoples natural inclination to sloth. By supporting utopian views will make better people, not more misery.
Phooey. Math. Who needs it?
If everyone was paid a certain amount, say $30,000 Australian, then $30,000 would soon have little value, or maybe like a penny. Those that worked would then make $3,000,000 or MORE dollars and we’d be right back where we started. Don’t believe me? Check out what happened in Germany in the 30s or Zimbabwe starting in the late 90s and lasting until they abandoned their currency in favor the the USD. Free money is an impossibility and laughable. Only a fool would believe it possible.
Why does it always take a minimum of TWO tries to get past the CAPTCHA? Very annoying!!
Texas Canuck, exactly.
As David Thompson said, this has been tried somewhere before. It was tried in Russia for seventy years, in eastern Europe for forty-five years, many other places, past and present, and some just can not see the total failure of this ideology an want to move that way here. No doubt thy will get it right next time.
“distribute drudgery fairly” via some massive rota system, with dirty jobs…”
That was a good show. It showed a common man performing dreadful but necessary tasks for one day and opened the viewers’ eyes to another part of life they didn’t always think about. Why does one need some leftist to “redistribute” the yucky work? I volunteer that guy.
Moase is thinking too small.
Why have money at all?
Just pass a law making everything free.
I second that. The texts are mostly clear and simple but, I defy anyone to get past one on the first try.
Hey! Don’t knock it. It’s alive and working in Quebec and Ontario…okay, it’s not working very well, and not for very long of course.
In the dozens and dozens of postings since Captcha was implimented I have NEVER had a posting disallowed. I always preview my comment, however, and I’ve noticed if there’s a significant time lapse, the Captcha will be different than first shown. (so maybe it’s only a time factor.??)
I agree. I always preview my comment, edit it or even occasionally add a sentence or two and then submit.
Kate, you’re far too cool for politics.
Your art is more important than a bunch of nepotistic creepers that have never worked a job for a paycheck.

Actually this has already, not just been tried, but the lifestyle du’jour in at least 3 places in good ole Canader.
Remember Attawapiskat? How about Nufieland and Nova Scotia before Syncrude? And our great refugee apartment blocks in the largest cities.
How are they doing? How are we doing?
I remember seeing an article with public notices from Zimbabwe about the Zimbabwe dollar.
One said, “do not use a Zimbabwe dollar for toilet paper. It will clog the toilet.”
The image on the Z$s were the Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth, Harare; which, to me, look
like coprolites; thus symbolising the worth of the currency and the speed with which their
bureaucracy worked and works.
Kate, Kate, why be a piker? Why not put your name down to be a university President? The pay is much, much better and the benefits are unlimited. You can fly anywhere and claim either that you are promoting the university, or looking for information on university governance.
I just found out a few days ago that our President and High Mandarin is from SK (I knew he was a Westerner). So you see, it can be done.
