Reader Tips

A lot of people have heard Iggy Pop’s “Real Wild Child”, but it was Australian Rock ‘n’ Roller Johnny O’Keefe who released the first recording of the song, in 1958, under the title “Wild One”. Later that same year, he recorded a slightly different version for American and UK audiences (the one we’ll hear tonight) called Real Wild Child.

  1. The English Defence League’s Tommy Robinson is interviewed on….the BBC?
Of course, the interviewer, being from the BBC, is a lot more outraged about Robinson and the EDL than he would ever dare be about Islamists.

  2. Low-information — well, zero-information — western apologist for Islam, one of untold millions in the west, spouts propagandized, politically-correct, uber-misinformation about the contents of the Koran, and is subsequently, umm, schooled. It’s almost funny.

  4. Premier Wynne worried about situation at city hall

Well, cry me a river, Ms. Wynne. You’ve got so much dirt piled up in your backyard, you’re hardly one to talk about “monitoring” the situation at city hall.
As an Ontario taxpayer, I’m worried about the situation at Queen’s Park: an unelected premier, up to her eyeballs in scams, scandals, and coverups, feigning moral indignation at what’s happening at city hall. What brazen bull**it. Wipe the pretend indignation off your face, Ms. Wynne. As Doug Ford puts it, get your own much bigger house in order before you start threatening to “take action” against the Mayor.

“The UK is on track for its coldest spring for more than 50 years following another fortnight of below average temperatures, according to provisional figures from the Met Office.”
“The average temperature for the three spring months of March, April and May is 6C (43F), making it the fifth coldest spring in records dating back for more than a century to 1910, and the chilliest since 1962.”

  6. Plainzdrifter I am sick of the CBC attempting to constrain and engineer public dialogue. I also regularly get most of my posts on the CBC site ignored. I used to think it might just be because the reviewer was careless, or inundated, but it has happened far too often. Any view that does not fit the CBC political stance has little chance of getting seen. It is not worth the bother of posting there.

“Premier Kathleen Wynne deflects Ornge lie-detector request”
    “Friday, February 15, 2013 5:28:24 EST PM
Premier Kathleen Wynne won’t say whether she will take a lie detector test in connection to the Ornge air ambulance scandal. Wynne said she’s happy to answer questions about the scandal, which has dogged her party, but would not address PC MPP Frank Klees’ suggestion she submit to a polygraph to establish what she knew about it.”

  9. I can`t recall how ling I`ve commented on CBC.ca. however I can honestly tell you that any comment that opposes CBC`s Liberal and/or leftist policy is either deleted or not published.
My question is, if they can delete or omit comments online, how many details are left out of the news and specifically to alter the gist of the story?
My guess is that best strategy would be to organize a consorted effort to boycott their advertisers.
