  1. I have to side with Platner on this one. I doubt even one in a thousand younger (or even older) people are familiar with the SS Totenkopf symbol. It’s perfectly plausible that Platner got this tattoo thinking it was just a skull and cross bones without understanding its origins.

Further, it’s tough to tell from pictures of the tattoo how closely it resembled a Nazi symbol (it has since been tattooed over). It may be that the people claiming so are stretching things.

      Imagine my shock.

Multiple people have now claimed that Platner himself referred to it as a Totenkopf, using that exact word.

He knew what he was doing. It’s also clear he’s not a Nazi, he’s just an idiot frat boy who thinks the SS are cool because they’re badasses.

      1. The way it works around here is that if an allegation fits the general political viewpoint then it’s assumed true, and if it doesn’t fit then it’s assumed false. I prefer to look at the facts without the politics. That works better in the long run.

Now I didn’t know that others had claimed he referred to the tattoo as a Totenkopf. But I looked into it and found two such claims. One was by his ex-girlfriend Lindsey Fifield. The other was anonymous and unverifiable, and therefore useless.

I also found that there is a history of US marines using skull and cross-bone insignia, but not specifically the Totenkopf, which makes me want to see a clear picture of the tattoo even more.

    2. given genuine nazi paraphernalia and symbolism are now into the 4th generation old, well, lots of popular cultural symbols have come and gone and come and stayed. like the peace sign still very recognizable.
and the notion the swastika was appropriated and not nazi original is sorta related.
lm not getting worked up about skull tats. did pirates of yore really fly skull and crossbones or
just another hollyweird myth? etc etc

      1. A Totenkopf is like an iron cross. Similar insignia have been used many times in history, mostly having nothing to do with Nazis. This is why I wish I could see a high-resolution image of the tattoo. It might be vaguely like a Totenkopf but not really.

  2. pffft. hes a prettyboy so gets a pass. what kind of dumb tawt dates such a chauvanist?

“PJ Katie” from YTV’s PJ Katie’s Farm among others. Same Jennifer Racicot.

I don’t buy the violence accusations. The worst accusation is that he armbarred a woman and forced her into a bedroom and held the door shut, telling her to stay there until she was “calm”. She later “fell asleep” and left the next morning. Which means she got drunk and hysterical and he threw her in there to sleep it off.
