  3. The Vancouver Stanley Cup Rioters(say that sounds like a good name for a team) were hired under a ‘hire the brain damaged’ action plan.

  7. The hard news department of QR77 has bothered me for a number of years now…AGW piffle, failure to identify criminal suspects ethnicity, pandering pieces on “cyber bullying” etc…and Dave Rutherford is packing it in.

  9. This is the result of whole word reading, auto-correction in Microsoft Word, and the complete elimination of spelling drills in school.

  10. Aside from the educational failures, has anyone enough shame to admit their personal failures in not doing well in English language classes or taking a journalist job? Maybe? No?

  12. Actually I used to be good at spelling (be a good speller?) but as I get up in age, I become worse (worser); course, I’m not much of a typist either. Though typos are just a matter of not rereading what you’ve typed. Reread, rewrite and edit, edit, edit!

  14. In fairness, it does say “CKNW / News * Talk,” not “CKNW / Read * Write.” Just sayin’ (as someone who did talk radio in Windsor, Ontariobin the early 1980s).
