To think that I was born in 1967 and these a**holes were already ruining my beloved country….The utter nihilistic selfishness of much of that generation is mind numbing. The illegitimate kids, the drug abuse and deaths, the murders, racism towards whites, sky rocketing divorce. The sickest thing about it is that the Left/Regressives actually congratulate themselves for “changing” America and the Western world.

Actually, something else good happened in 1968. I got my green card and a 3A deferment. I was in the USA in a popular R&B Soul band playing college bars and pubs … and didn’t have to go to Nam. I also got a great apartment in Cleveland too. I was vaguely aware of the other stuff. I saw a bit of it on TV occasionally through a cloud of pot smoke. Only had one night off per week to watch TV and the original Star Trek was the show of choice. I also recall something about the Jew kicking Arab butt the year before, but hey … there were loose women and cheap beer to contend with. What can I say. I am now an Ayn Rand Objectivist. That happened in 1973 when I woke up from the stupor.
Ah the 60s … where liberalism transformed into hedonism and degeneracy.
My boomer brethern staking out a wholly underserved claim on entitlement and privilege.
Self pride before the fall. Sad really, and the great experiment was such a good thing mostly.
I lived through that era. Although still a teenager, I could smell the
stink that was sure to follow. A lot of our peers did as well.
There was a lot more of us than them and we wholly rejected their BS.
Not all Boomers bought into this crap.
Thank God for That Original Rick.
Those are the ones I count as friends and peers. I have other words for the rest.
1968 was a bad year for all who cared about individual autonomy. The hive mind was just awakening. The Marxist creep was just being born in Academia. After we got to the Moon , most people lost interest. It was also the year we lost any faith in technology as progress. Excellent analysis of the passing of an era. Of course we didn’t know it at the time. The corpse has just been rotting these many years. In Canadian terms it was the risng tide by the Media that Trudeau-mania that got him elected. Jews died at the Olympics at the hands of Jihadis. No one than knew what this would portend. Just a random bunch of nuts we thought. How that is now changed! It was a haunting look at perhaps the worst year we have seen, even these days. The end of the Western civilization-al imperative.
On a personnel note it was the year my Father died
This puts me at a “KHAAAAAN!” level of rage.
I lived through that era. At 18 I was in Vietnam, that would be 1969. I never bought into the BS that the MSM, Cronkite and some politicians handed out. I was and still am proud of what I did in Vietnam. I still think the original point of going to Vietnam is sound. It was the MSM and the pissant politicians that warped the idea. Now at 62 years of age, I am embarresed by my generation. Talk about a bunch of losers. I do not have the words to describe how low I think of my generation. F’ it………….
A bit of a convoluted read but there are some good points and many naive false assumptions. If you could say one self evident thing about the shift in American culture in the 60s decade it would be that the campus based internationalist Marxist cabal successfully used the Veit Nam war to instill the philosophy of anti-Americanism in the liberal left. Unfortunately the paranoia of the American oligarchy in employing devious politics and subterfuge in reaction to this “revolution” helped to more deeply entrench the loathing of Americanism in the collective psyche of the new left. That seed of Anti-Americanism is the core of so-called “Liberal” agendas today – thay are actively dismantling the republic and society the founders and generations of constitutional Americans built.
