– that life (at least in legal terms) start at birth, and it is entirely up to the woman whether to have an abortion or not up and including in the third trimester
is possible to defend, in my opinion, as a reasonable and humane position.
Therefore a mushy pragmatic approach is necessary, something along the line of lance’s, even if disturbs some people.
My preference would be:
– Ban abortions after 16 weeks
– Except in case of rape, incest, or serious health threat
This should be coupled with sensible:
– information/education/propaganda on the requirement to take responsibility for one’s actions
– information/education/propaganda on the economical, ethical & health case for steady relationships and a generally healthy life style
– information/education on contraceptives (and also day-after pills)
– common sense social assistance rules (e.g. not encourage single parent households)
Who would have expected anything else from the Commie in Chief,any way sending Biden or Michelle would only make them look like the turd in the punch bowl.

The thing about Thatcher is that she mattered, that is why leftists cannot forgive her or be magnanimous. She stands above Reagan and all others, simply because she actually rolled back the socialist agenda. Think about that. She alone, among all so called right wing world leaders, actually repealed socialist legislation. The famous saying is that not even Reagan could get rid of the department of education; well, metaphorically speaking, Thatcher did. That is why they hate her so much. When people see the good that comes of rolling back socialism, that is the one thing that they cannot afford to let happen.
In the UK, Thatcher set back the socialist cause by decades, perhaps centuries. That is why the left can’t let it go.
Obama is no friend to the UK, Canada nor the US Constitution. He also can’t stand to go to any function where he is not the central character. Margaret Thatcher’s family are much better off without the Obama’s at her service.
That there is so much vitriol from the left is testament to Thatcher’s unique accomplishment – a conservative who had the temerity to actually govern like one.
It hardly needs to be repeated that foreign affairs is not this president’s forte. Allies, friends are simply there to be insulted, none more so than UK. He is simply a local ward politician elevated to the office.
While I’m not in the least bit surprized that he would not attend, in fact for him to show up would be the greatest insult of all. After all Thatcher represents everything that Obama will never be. That no member of the current US government will be there to represent the US is clearly a snub and an insult to Britain but considering the Churchill bust insult exactly the behaviour you would expect of this little man. At least those past American leaders attending will have a true appreciation of Thatcher’s achievements in world history.
