Remember people, these are the intelliduncia that have rammed glowball warming/climate change/scary weather scenarios down the the throats of people dumb enough to read or listen to the drivel they expouse as truth, tonight here in Alberta April 13 it is minus 10 with a north wind freezing newborn calves to death, they sure stopped that boogieman glowball warming I guess, pity it broke every economy in the process while making Fat Al and Squinty very wealthy. These creeps will stop at nothing but honest investigative reporting, they are soooo brave right Jane.

  3. Is there a link or a picture in this thread? All I can see is the headline, nothing shows as linkable. This is the same as the last thread with the “Moral and Intellectual Superiors” headline. The picture finally showed up on that one, I guess I’ll keep trying.

  5. June 2013 is the fourth anniversary of the current NDP government of Nova Scotia. Jane Taber is primarily a political reporter, perhaps she could stick to that and make something up as to how the NDP is going to say it did everything it could.
    There is a young woman, now dead, who waited a very long time for something to be done regarding a sexual assault on her, while photographic evidence was passed around, and statements were made that supported this act as true… A grieving family, two separate parents that have lost a shining light.
    The RCMP that could have compiled sufficient evidence, the government of the day, the civil servants that refused to act, live their lives, will collect their pensions. They’ve asked that folks don’t take the law into their own hands. Perhaps they need to do something, or allow someone else to do the job they refuse to do.

  16. “Church capacity is 525 but the congregation has decreased to only 60 or 70?” How would she know? Did she find the Parish directory while rifling through a desk? Or is she thinking that the whole parish would show up to the funeral? Maybe people who didn’t know the girl had the, you know, dignity, to not go. I am SO looking forward to this year’s Atlantic Journalism Awards to see who milked this story the best.

    I always figure she’s got to have connections because neither her looks nor her journalistic “skills” (giggle, giggle) warrant such prominence in the Canadian media. Oh wait. Canadian media is full of incestuous appointments, pulling on a tiny gene pool.

  21. The declining membership of the church in which the funeral took place may well be connected to increasing frequency and depravity of the actions that led up to that funeral. Many people showed up to this funeral; many others turned up a various vigils, no doubt with the ubiquitous teddy bears that appear to be the only response to tragedy open to a society that has lost its moral compass.
    No one seems to be able to make the connection between this event and Dr Kermit Gosnell story. As John Paul II understood and taught, both stories are symptomatic of our “culture of death”.

  22. Taber was, years ago, girlfriend of former Globe and mail editor Edward Greenspon and was hired and promoted during his years at the helm. After he was fired, she was shuffled off to Halifax where, it was supposed, she couldn’t be too much of an embarrassment.

    Roseberry, you’re right: It’s all connected under the umbrella of “the culture of death,” but most people are blind to the connections because they no longer have the gift of discernment which, BTW, is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit — whom most Westerners have trashed.

  24. Oh, Taber and the Globe know exactly what they’re doing. They’re the house rag of the Toronto Libranos and do their bidding in all things.
    The suicide of a village bicycle would have been a nine-day wonder even in the village, had a notorious Toronto Librano, who doubtless did not know her name before this month, not seen the suicide as a cudgel he could use to beat the Nova Scotia NDP, who’ve had the gall to shut Nova Scotia’s Grits from their rightful place in government since 1999, and the federal Tories, using the RCMP as a proxy. Put bluntly, this hoopla is part of the campaign to restore the House of Trudeau, federally and provincially.
    The people who are expected to die for the Libranos’ sins are four young men who have no connections to Toronto society and hence whose lives and reputations are of no importance. Never mind that there’s no real proof they did anything wrong worth sending to jail for so much as an hour, unless the wild accusations of a woman unable to accept she was an abject failure as a mother is to be considered proof of anything beyond the human capacity for self-deception.
    Here’s what happened, all right?
    Teenage girl attends drunken orgy in the basement of a classmate, spending much of the evening as the entertainment. Father has been absent for years and mother cannot or will not do anything to prevent her attendance. Mother wakes up the next morning to find herself and her daughter the laughing stock of the village.
    Mother tries to salvage her reputation and daughter’s chances on the marriage market by getting the police involved, accusing the girl’s classmates of rape. Police quickly satisfy themselves that there’s no proof of anything of the sort, and quickly go back to investigating real crimes. The only other realistic option—putting the girl on a bus out of town—is thwarted when absent father sends the girl back. He had no interest in raising her when she was small and didn’t want her now she was big.
    Girl, who has clearly never been taught that actions have consequences, and with no other way of escaping them as opposed to accepting them, takes her own life. If you’ve received no moral instruction, suicide will always appear to be the perfect escape hatch. Her blood is on her own hands, and on those of her useless mother and father. Nobody else’s.

  25. It’s obvious that any semblance of faith, reverence, empathy or ethics have been bred out of the generations of the media zombies indoctrinated in the technocratic secular statism of our state learning institutions.
    EBD – don’t look for, or expect “shame” where relativist morality exists. This wanker thinks no more of unempathetically disrespecting a family’s grief/loss, than they would reporting fact – which is the technocratic state failed to protect its most vulnerable while it forbids them from protecting themselves – the whole affair reeks of the mediocre relativist morality of the secular state. They can even rationalize injustice rather than take off their rose colored glasses which allow them to apologize for such a dystopian state.

  30. Yep, your story of what actually happened is correct.
    If you’ve checked her twitter photos you’ll see her hobby was smoking pot with naked guys and getting tattoos. One photo she took is of a pile of marijuana on the back of a naked boyfriend. Yes, she has a twitter account full of photos of her smoking pot and cigarettes and getting tattos, apparently her parents didn’t mind.
