In what will surely have the heads of big government supporters spinning in surprise, the following was recently revealed about the free phone program in America:
The U.S. government spent about $2.2 billion last year to provide phones to low-income Americans, but a Wall Street Journal review of the program shows that a large number of those who received the phones haven’t proved they are eligible to receive them.
A review of five top recipients of Lifeline support conducted by the FCC for the Journal showed that 41% of their more than six million subscribers either couldn’t demonstrate their eligibility or didn’t respond to requests for certification.
It’s a feature, not a bug that unqualified people get a piece of the pie. How else would this regime’s schemes work?
The very idea that citizens should be eligible for a free cel phone and service paid for by taxpayers and other phone users just because they claim to be poor is absurd. Since when did having a phone become a right and not a service you paid for.
A shorter headline would/should read “Obama – Fraud”.
I’m shocked, simply shocked, I tell you, to find that fraud is going on within this government.
Under the Zero’s administration, drug dealers and gang bangers are essential personal,so the govt must grease their palms with free phones.

On the topic of Obama phones, I see recently that a talk show host in the US located the original “Obama phone lady” and interviewed her. Apparently she and her husband are hard-working (she has 2 min wage jobs) inner-city low income people who are trying to keep their home and pay their food bill – even with the 5 jobs between them they need subsidy – so they vote Dem because of all the promises of free stuff (such as the “Bamaphone”). When she was caught on video at an Obama rally she was being paid by the DNC to be a partisan activist (participate in Obama support rallies). When the DNC apparatchiks saw her video go viral and used by the opposition to attack the credibility of Obama’s voter base, she was paid to “disappear” from public scrutiny.
She was straightened out on the corrupt agendas of federal partisan politics and about the deception of the “tax the rich, free stuff for the poor” Obama con job by this talk show host. (Alex Jones?) who is passionately anti big government and who believes congress is fully dysfunctional gave her facts to check out which turned her into a Tea Party supporter. She now realizes she is working min.wage jobs in a deteriorating rust belt city because well paying jobs were sent to China by both Dem and RINO economics. She understands why she has even less take home pay because the Obama “Tax-the-rich” pogrom includes America’s poorest people – if you have a job you are “the rich”. She realized that her tax bill is paying for bailouts of America;s most wealthy banks and corporations.
The Obama-Phone lady is no longer an Obama supporter or a Democrat. Some stories have happy endings

This program was started under Reagan to provid (hardline) phones for the poor for stuff like 911 calls. Most cell phones back then were way over priced and not used like todays. (texting etc)

Just watched alex Jones/Obama-phone lady show.
One thing is obvious….the gal is not really a fool but a typical under-informed….not really high suggestable….and outspoken.
Alex Jones is not a sweet smarmy type…actually abrassive, to the point of rudeness….Against Piers Morgan he out ruded (is that a word), out shouted Morgan…..and yet this gal assimilated readily to him.

Most government programs don’t have proper oversight of spending or any investigation into whether they work as planned. This one seems no different.
