  1. A link to some guy’s blog? Really? That’s what you’re going with? Willfully stupid, the story of the right wing.

  2. The marvelous thing about science, Hugh – real science, that is, not political propaganda – is that anyone can do it. All it takes is time and discipline to replicate or disconfirm someone’s results. It doesn’t matter who does the science, the science speaks for itself.

  3. What Phantom and Daniel Ream said.
The class warfare ideologists make statements to scare people and assume that no one will check their fallacies.
Actually it looks like the 2013 drought is relatively mild compared to the ones in the 20th century.
To a socialist the only truth is that which advances their agenda.

  4. I’ve heard SO many news items begin with with “climate change has created a world wide (fill in the blank)”, but whenever you do a little research, you usually find the opposite is true, and usually that information comes from sources such as NASA,or the source at the link, the NOAA ,the National Oceanis and Atmospheric Administration,a branch of the U.S. department of Commerce.
Iow,De Gub’mint of de Yoo-nited States of Amurika! Y’know, Obama’s government, an unimpeachable source from an unimpeachable man!
So why do Lefty trolls refuse to believe the data produced by the government of THEIR Messiah?
    I just don’t understand.

  5. Don’t forget, guys. History starts anew every day when the leftard gets up. The cult of AGW relies on people forgeting what happened last week, let alone 50,60 or longer years ago.Of course their comrades in the edjumication system don’t teach history,so it makes it easier.
Hugh is a useful idiot, and I would bet involved in some green scam, somewhere.

  6. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/
Same site, different article, check out “2012 was tenth warmest year on record”,of the past 133 years.
It also explains that rainfall globally was about average, with droughts in some places, heavier than normal rainfall in others,AND explains that the Arctic ice is decreasing, while the Antarctic ice is INcreasing.
No need to panic, but if any lefties who troll here want to help the situation, just send me $10.95 plus $8 shipping and handling, for a CC-ray bracelet. The CC-RB emits rays that block the sun and prevent global warming.

  7. Well, if Hughie can’t read, he’s got an excuse. If he won’t read, he’s got a bigger one.
But,it’s probably neither of the above.
A generation ago these guys would have locked themselves in the basement with a skin mag – now they’re in Mummy’s basement getting their thrills by posting infantile stuff on blogs.

  8. You beat me to it, I was going to respond to Ken with the same line and ask how much re-writing of history he saw before he came over. Like the only armed insurrection of Canadian troops on Canadian soil that I’m aware of: WW2, in Terrace BC. A news vignette said that it was Ukrainian immigrants that didn’t want to go to war in the Pacific. My grandmother remarked that it was amazing how none of them spoke Ukrainian, but were all so good at speaking French. You have to note the errors as you see them, because soon they will be part of the “approved” history.
I’m in Calgary and like to ask the very few CAGW supporters I meet whether they thought the climate around Calgary was better 20,000 years ago. I usually get a vacant stare in return, they have no knowledge (in most cases) beyond their own lifetime.

  9. “…they have no knowledge (in most cases) beyond their own lifetime.”

And very little more knowledge of matters within their own lifetime.

  10. CM, do you have a link to that “Terrace” story? Or a book title? I’d never heard of that one.
Funny, but most of my French teachers in school were of Ukrainian descent. When I practised my high school French on Quebecers, they’d usually laugh and reply,”what the hell are you saying”.

Well said. I’ve noticed a common pattern with AGW aficionados. Whenever they’re confronted with actual data that refutes their beliefs, they immediately attack the messenger and state the “a majority of peer reviewed scientists believe in AGW” mantra. Nearly all of them don’t have the math skills to understand or refute the data presented. Most of their beliefs are what their farcebook friends tell them to believe.

  12. Most CAGW morons are merely parrots, and no matter how much logic and facts you throw back at them, it simply bounces off their truth deflector shield. These are the low info voters who lust after Obama as well, and are the typical mouth breathers of the occupy movement, throwback stoners from the ’60’s, Gaia infested idiots, and the pawns of the new world order movement.

  13. “….. There was numerous camps in the Rockies, the one at Castle Mountain springs to mind with lots of Ukrainians having been interred there..”
Wrong war, Zon. Castle Mountain was WW1.

  14. Who said this was the worst ever? If you’re going to make a claim like that, you should at least quote them. Oh wait… if you yell “SOCIALIST!!!” loud enough, nobody will care if you are totally full of s#!t.

  15. Interesting side note, two years that come to mind when drought and the Canadian prairie’s are mentioned. In my area 1988 and 2009, 1988 was a train wreck write off, 2009 saw lowered yields but nowhere near the disaster 1988 was. The interesting part is that comparing precipitation recieved on a monthly basis between the two years, every month but one in 1988 there was more precipitation than in 2009. The point being that in that 21 years agricultural practices had improved enough to remidiate the effects of drought.

  16. For info on the Terrace Mutiny just Google it. Les Fusiliers du Saint-Laurent and The Prince Edward Island Highlanders never had any Ukrainians and the ironically named Prince Albert Volunteers, who were loaded with Ukrainians, were least involved. The irony is the PA Volunteers were all conscripted as were the other battalions. They just received notice that they would be sent overseas and ceased obeying orders for a few days. Until that point, all service outside North America was voluntary. Thousands of conscripted troops went AWOL just before sailing. Some of our neighbors sailed to Europe in chains. The term for conscripted soldiers among the volunteers was Zombies. I am not sure whether they were fast Zombies or Slow Zombies.

  17. I did not read the wiki article, but as I understand it, many recent post 1900 Ukrainian immigrants were interred during WW I because the Galician part of the ethnic area of Ukraine was actually part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, as were the Czechs, who when captured by the Russians turned around and formed a corps sized military group to fight against the Central Powers.

  18. Ken, that was part of the family history I learned as well. “Loyal Ukrainians, come to the defence of your emperor” was the rallying cry of the Canadian bishop of the Ukrainian orthodox church at the time, and what lead to this unusual step being taken. Checking a few online sources today showed that about 5000 were interned across the country, mostly recent immigrants. About 4000 others were also interned, mostly recent immigrants from other opposing nations.
Grandma also mentioned that the Germans were welcomed as liberators in WW2. When the Germans drew back late in the war there was a man hanging from each tree along the road for a mile on either side of town. It’s not an area was a good history of co-existance.

  19. Most of the Ukrainians who joined the army in WWI put down Russia as their place of birth despite being Austrian born. Galician Ukrainians would have celebrated the demise of Austria but instead thousands were interned as Austrian citizens. What is interesting is that a smaller proportion of Germans were interned. Enemy aliens, as they were called, usually had to try hard to get interned. All my German relatives had to do was turn in (hide) their guns and report periodically.
