Those Moderate Muslims!

To mark the 25th anniversary of Hamas’s founding…

His voice rising to a shout, Mr. Meshal said: “Palestine is ours from the river to the sea and from the south to the north. There will be no concession on any inch of the land.” He vowed that all Palestinian refugees and their descendants would one day return to their original homes in what is now Israel.
“We will never recognize the legitimacy of the Israeli occupation, and therefore there is no legitimacy for Israel, no matter how long it will take,” he said. “We will free Jerusalem inch by inch, stone by stone. Israel has no right to be in Jerusalem.”

  1. “We will never recognize the legitimacy of the Israeli occupation, and therefore there is no legitimacy for Israel, no matter how long it will take,” he said. “We will free Jerusalem inch by inch, stone by stone. Israel has no right to be in Jerusalem.”
Let me finish that paragraph for you:
“And the free world (except for Canada) rose as one with thunderous applause.”

  2. To use an old statement from the 50’s:
“Bring your lunch and lots of Friends”
    Followed by:
“Put your head between your knees and kiss your A** goodbye.”
The Israelis aren’t going to roll over quietly.

  3. How conveniently the Palestinians and their
apologists forget history. The newly created
UN, back around 1947, offered both Arabs and Jews
a homeland in the Levant. The Jews accepted and
    the Arabs declined.

  4. History is hard.
Making history up as you go and adding your own personal additions to fit the agenda is easy.
Being able to tell the difference is the real trick, but the UN seems to not be interesting in facts, just ideology.

  5. A missed opportunity for a targetted assassination! I’m more and more of the opinion that some collateral damage in this instance wouldn’t be bad either!

  6. The question I have is why anyone would think they could negotiate a peace agreement with that guy. Somebody comes out with a statement that definitive, I’m inclined to take him at his word. After that the rest is tactics.
Besides which, Meshal is -winning-. He has nothing to gain from a peace treaty, his interests are served by continual war.
I can only conclude that the “Peacemakers” interests are served by continual war as well.

  7. When will the western democracies come to their senses and leave that UN organization. It is nothing more than a bunch of third world Sh!t hole dictatorships with their hands out for ever increasing foriegn aid payments.

  8. I is somewhat ironic that the same elements who blindly accept the terrorists version of history, so calmly ignore their open, unambiguous statements of implacable refusal to a negotiated peace.
The “Palestinians” (invented) have no interest in a 2 state solution just a 1 state solution….and their arab neighbours have no interest in any state solution.
In 1948, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq had no intent for an arab state and subsequently annexed the remainder….a consolation prize.
Nothing has changed….the refugees would still be refugees…..outcasts…
In all probability, if the Arab League had succeeded they would be in constant warefare over the same territory.

  9. The two paragraphs Kate posts of Meshal’s speech should be enough in themselves to remove any legitimacy Hamas might have with Western Governments. He and others in leading positions in Hamas have made many statements like these in the past. Destruction of Israel and killing of Jews is in their written charter for cripes sake!
Western Governments have to start believing that they are serious.

  10. Most of the “western democracies”, Frankemm, are not even remotely democracies. Every member of the EU, for example, has surrendered so much power to that machine that they have almost no control over their laws. And those that still even PRETEND to be democracies are so in love with the One World Government utopia espoused by the UN that they have no interest to even CONSIDER leaving same. ONWARD!!!

  11. “The “Palestinians” (invented) have no interest in a 2 state solution just a 1 state solution….and their arab neighbours have no interest in any state solution.”
Correct. IF a 2-state solution was acceptable, then we’d have peace, since Jordon is the “Palestinian homeland.” Ditto for the new “homelands.” So long as powerful foreign powers need to generate an enemy to keep their own power, those remaining “Palestinians” in the area will keep dying. Seems to me that the smart ones are all gone, and the dead-enders and stupid remain?

  12. No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. I am so proud that our Canadian government is on the right side – as it should.

  13. Well Mark Matis you are entitiled to your opinion, but I will tell you one thing that you propbably won t believe. That is that the day when the Western Democracies that you seem to hold in very low regard allow the bottom feeders in the UN to dictate world policy you will see anarchy in many parts of the world including Africa, the middle east and even parts of Europe.I agree with your opposition to world government but our only hope is that the West stands up and faces these challenges, for all our sakes I hope they will.
