  3. Raise taxes = lost jobs and revenues, give tax breaks and it ends up saving you the price of a dinner and spirals inflation.
    Listening to these two vision-void parties yammer about how to stop the ship of state from it’s inevitable fiscal impact is like listening to a commie and a fascist arguing over an empty bank as to who robbed it.
    The way is clear and it has nothing to do with taxing the way back to economic stability – it;s about getting the government out of the markets and cutting its size by at least 50%. GOVERNMENT COSTS MONEY.
    For those who think they are nowhere near Hayek’s “serfdom” I would remind them that under the yolk of Feudalism a “serf” was only robbed of 25% of his income. Most of us are slaves to this Keynsian system which robs us of much more than a Feudal serf. Don’t ever call modern government run economics/taxing “progressive”, it’s economically regressed the common working man past the age of serfdom. = and ALL US parties buy into this regressive poverty making crap.

    Obama doesn’t operate for the well-being of America or Americans. Every agenda, every action that Obama takes, is always deeply personal. He leaves policies and programs to others. His own activities are personal. Always.
    He wants to destroy the GOP because they went against Him. It’s as simple as that. You are either with Him. Or he’ll destroy you. He likes the presidential power to destroy.
    Just as he himself, in a totally pathological act, personally selects which assumed terrorist his drones will kill each day, Obama gets his kicks out of destroying any and all who are not his followers.

    ET, the point about narcissism is that he thinks he’s working for America’s best interest. The danger of narcissists is that no external reality ever intrudes on their fantasies. Even up until the last 12 hours in the bunker, Hitler still deluded himself that he would win the war, ordering fantasy attacks on the Soviets with non-existent armies. And like all narcissists, Obama has surrounded himself with sycophants who reinforce his worldview.

    With Obama, every action is only about Him. So, he really wants to ‘go off the cliff’; that is, to have taxes increase on everyone.
    He’ll get a lot more money to increase the ratio of those who, as a result of the tax increases on businesses, will lose their jobs …and become dependent on Obama. He’ll expand food stamps and welfare; these are all His People.
    The private sector will be angry at these tax increases…Remember, 47% don’t pay taxes…but Obama will simply blame the GOP for the tax increases!
    So, Obama wins on all counts.
    First, he gets to destroy the GOP politically because the tax increases will be, by Obama, blamed on them.
    Second, he gets to further destroy small business capitalism and freedoms in the US, and after all, these people voted against Obama. Obama never forgets anyone. Maxime Waters supported Him and he’ll promote her to ambassador. Private businesses rejected Obama, and he’ll destroy them.
    Third, he gets more tax money which he’ll use to expand his followers. The unemployment rate will go up; he’ll blame the GOP. And fund them with those tax dollars. He’ll increase food stamp users.
    Oh, and Obama also wants to destroy Congress. Congress, constitutionally, must approve funding. Heh. Obama wants the power to increase the debt ceiling, confined to Himself. He doesn’t want to ask Congress. That gives him the freedom to ‘purchase’ more and more followers.
    He’s pathological; he’s insane. He’s destroying the US. And Americans voted for him.

    The second sentence doesn’t necessarily follow from the first. He wants tax increases not on everyone; only on those who are the class enemies of his supporters.

They think that heaven on earth can be created and that everything will function the way the Founding Fathers intended if everyone else will just shut up and get in line. Utopianism is a common disease among these types. It’s the opposition which is evil and must be destroyed.
    Remember, all narcissists wish to be worshipped, loved, adored by everyone. They thrive on praise because of a constant need for reinforcement of their self image.

    That is, when I say he wants to destroy Congress, you add the reason that he wants to destroy all opposition. Agreed.
    When I say that he wants to destroy private business, you suggest that he wants them to worship him and his policies. No, I’m not sure.
    I see your points, but your analysis of Obama is that he is not merely a pathological narcissist, as I claim, but you also add that he is utopian. That is, that he actually believe in his policies and believes that IF ONLY people accepted them, THEN, all would be well.
    This is where you and I profoundly differ. I think that Obama is not only a narcissist with a pathological need to control everyone and reduce those in his ‘bubble’ to a state of constant adulation. But, I think there’s another aspect of Obama that you are missing.
    I think he’s a malicious and deeply vindictive person. That’s nothing to do with narcissism; that’s another aspect of this deranged person.
    Obama remembers every action. And unlike the mafia godfather, with Obama, it’s never business (as it would be IF he were utopian). With Obama, it’s always personal. Always.
    So if you displayed adulation and loyalty to Him, he’ll reward you. Of course, that means keeping you in his bubble of control; so, he’ll make people ambassadors, put them in high positions.
    If you dissent, question or in some manner display your freedom from His control, then, Obama will do everything to destroy you. Everything.
    The GOP have dissented from Obama. He’ll destroy them. Because he can.
    The Congress has criticized Obama, and Obama doesn’t allow anything to exist unless it’s in His control. He’ll destroy their ability to function, to control spending, to control appointments.
    Leave someone this deranged in a position of only local power and he will harm those he touches but without the disastrous results of what we are now seeing. Put someone like him in a position of supreme power and his need to control, coupled with his need to destroy whatever he can’t control will exponentially increase.
    You think that what Obama does is ‘business’, which happens to be a utopian agenda. I differ; I think that what Obama does is never business for he doesn’t exist outside of his narcissistic bubble. I think that it’s always and only: Personal.
    Meanwhile, Americans still think that he’s OK and just ha a different vision for America. If that were so, then, you could debate with him, but you can’t. Is he insane? I’d say it’s pretty close.

  41. It’s interesting that the GOP is now trying to distance itself from the “fiscal cliff”, calling it a “fiscal slide” instead (http://metronews.ca/news/canada/465148/u-s-envoy-to-canada-fiscal-cliff-really-a-fiscal-slide/).
    So it appears as though the GOP are throwing in the towel and will not bother with more negotiations with the Democrats.
    And yes, it’s patently obvious – even the Republicans – that THEY will be blamed for it. This could very well split the GOP – I expect that the Tea Party will surge back to life, and that they will not be in the mood to cooperate with the GOP establishment.
    A clear win for Obama – and a deepening recession for America. And Obama has repeatedly shown that he will always choose political opportunism over the welfare of the nation.
    Bad times are up ahead for America … and by extension, for us as well.

This situation didn’t just start overnight or in 2003(at Dem convention) or 2007(primary/pres campaign) This has been brewing since the 60’s when those with liberal ideas moved into the education system. It was a long slog till they moved into positions of power(because of union seniority rules) where they were finally able to pick and choose who “they” would add to the (re)education system.
    When your kids weren’t in school, they were probably watching TV, and liberals realized that TV programing could also be a useful tool toward reeducation, for chidren and adults alike. Liberals could see this was working well, slow but steady, and started to move into the last pillar needed to influence and control the greater public, that being, the News Media.
    This was accomplished in much the same manor as the education system. Use the union rules of seniority to eventually move into positions where you can hire more of your own(liberals) and keep out neutral or conservative thinking people. Left leaning media became obvious in the 1980’s while Reagan was president. Slow but steady, for 20yrs, liberals increased their hold on the News Media, even being so brazen as to hire former Dem spokesmen to news/journalist TV programing(no biases there, for goodness sakes, it’s the news!!!). The lastest move(15yrs) has been two fold, 1, to blend editorial comment with news, 2, not to report negitive stories about liberals or positive stories about conservatives.
    Reeducation has taken place over more than 4 decades or 2 generations, they HAVE suceeded in changing the culture of America, they HAVE! Hard work and saving is for chumps.
    Republicans will not come out of the fiscal cliff in one piece, they are going to take the blame, the media will make certain of this.
    Obama wants to go over the cliff, he wants the automatic cuts to the military, and he want taxes to go up on the middle class, the greatest pool of income earners, he’ll be wollowing in money, real money, not Bernakie money.
    When the crash eventually comes, those that are Obama supporters still will have nothing, but will continue to receive gov’t support, some of the elite will still be limousine liberals, those who are savers will have nothing, and will accept Obama’s caring gov’t help.
    Nothing will rise from the ashes, nothing will change because of the crash. The culture has been CHANGED, it took 40-50 yrs and it will not change over night, at least as long as liberals control 1)education, 2)pop culture entainment, and 3)the news media, it’s just that simple. FOX News can’t change it alone(they’ve been demonized), nor will the internet, BTW, “they’re” coming for the internet.
    Step 4, in the next 4 yrs, Obama will also have firm control of the Supreme Court, of course they will rule in favor of liberals and liberal ideas.
    The 5th, and final step will be to infilrate and liberalize the military(already gays) and weed out the likes of Petraeus. Right wingers will eventually quit or retire. The ranks will be filled with illegals and power seeking liberals, which of course will be loyal to Obama or his successor.
    In 10-20yrs, your kids or grandkids will be helping to pay for Ababajoni’s unemployment cheque, who happens to live in Ghana, and for Abrar’s disablity cheque, who lives in Pakistan.
    Obama wants this, and there are many others that want this, many who live outside of America.
    Only War, will stop this from happening, but how can you wage war without guns, even with your few hunting rifles, how can you wage war against the U.S. military. What other country will come to America’s aid, Russia? China? England is going down much the same path. Who else?
    Nothing good is coming from Obama, be assured. Life will be very different in four years time, there is no turning the clock back. The have been counted and not enough people feared Obama or what he will bring, they stayed home, now the die has been cast for the future.

    Robert L., Romney was wrong, it might have been 47% it 2010, but by 2012, it has grown to 51%. Fewer people voted for Romney than McCain, that’s after four years of seeing what Obama is all about. The 51% now has control, and Obama will only grow that number along with his power.
    Wintour may become an ambassador, she was loyal and worked hard to riase money from Hollywood elite for Obama.
    C. Matthews has been loyal and has been “doing everything in his power to support the president”. I’d like to see him fill the vacant post in Lybia. Anyone think he’d go with the same security C. Stevens had?

    But, my question is, that progressivism or socialism is always first and foremost an ideology. It exists in words. Not in reality.
    It is economically unsustainable. Obama can destroy the middle class, which is exactly what he is doing with his taxes of those over 200,000 (which are primarily small businessmen who file as individuals not corporations)..and his ObamaCare, which will decimate small businesses.
    But without the economic input of the middle class, a socialist distributive economy cannot exist. Obama has so far increased the debt by 4 trillion to increase the numbers served by his socialist economy; he wants, now, an unlimited debt ceiling within his sole control. But for how long can such unreal spending continue?
    Add to your outline of a socialist infrastructure gradually set up from the time of FDR, the reality of Obama as a narcissist who requires adulation from more and more people, and as a malicious person who needs to destroy….Quite the future for the USA.

The US, like Carl says, has been softened up by the media and educational system for the socialist utopia and appears to be hell bent for leather to go the same way. Ultimately all the people except the regimes insiders will pay the price for this failure. Tens of millions of Russians still do not have the standard of living their great grandfathers did, although it slowly improving year by year.

  47. Ken (Kulak), yes, I agree, but I think that Obama is a separate problem from socialism.
    I agree that the educational and media and cultural trend in the US has been towards socialism. The fact that it’s unsustainable is almost a basic axiom; California is such an example.
    And I agree with you that it’s the Rulers, that inbred, incestuous clique, who benefit. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, all the Obama gang and his sycophants, while the rest of the population becomes both economically and importantly, politically powerless.
    As others have noted, Europe could get away, for a time, with socialism because it had other nations, such as the USA and even Germany, to bail it out. But the USA has no-one and I don’t think China can play such a role!
    Plus, as I’ve said, I view Obama in a far more pathological state than do most. Most people see him as a hard-core socialist, someone who believes, fervently, in its principles. I disagree. In my view, Obama has no ideology. He has only one focus: Himself.
    My concern is both his need to expand his control and the concomitant need to destroy others.
