What?…cradle to grave entitlements don’t include weddings? We obviously need some kind of wedding related program…a registry even.
This is worth some laughs while watching the “news” and fun to play at home.
If party affiliation is NOT mentioned in a “news” story then it’s a bad story about a Libera/Dipper/Democrat or a good story about a Conservative/Republican.
Works 100% of the time.
Poll about to go horribly wrong right next to the article.
add to the list of things you’ll never see on CBC
“Liberal elected in Calgary Center”.
Finally, some real Liberal malfeasance to knock “robocalls” off the front pages of Canada’s MSM.
Funny how allegations and suspicions against the Conservatives, exacerbated by raving left-wing Reporters almost always fade away to nothing, but when the RCMP arrests someone,it’s usually a Liberal.
Why should we be pessimistic about our future? When crooks like this are re-elected it makes you wonder that any Libels were elected either federally or provincially or municipally.
Has it become obvious to everyone yet that Quebec is not the only constituency in Canada rife with graft and corruption? Good governance was lost a long time ago if it ever existed. There is no justice even when caught ‘red handed’. There simply isn’t!
Would be so easy to reduce the federal deficit by about, oh, maybe 1.6 billion dollars. Immediately! Are ya listening Steven, Jim? Anyone?
Why am I forced to pay for this rubbish? Why? This is Governemt in direct competition with private industry… and doing it so badly it stinks…
@ snychro:
Yep, the Lieberals should have introduced a “Wedding Registry”…! ROFLAMAO Then they would only have misplaced a $100 Billion.
Cheers

One of the defining features of liberal politicians, parties and governments is corruption and malfeasance – but never have you heard this very provable fact mentioned on CBC blab feed. This is why I never access CBC’s assault on public intellect on Cable, radio or internet – even so I resent paying the saleries of these morbidly biased leftoid zombies.
If Harper leaves one lehacy monument it should be that he can claim to be the PM that killed Canadian Pravda.
Charged with fraud of LESS than $5000.00?? WTF there was $20000.00 STOLEN!! Why are they minimizing the charges…so he will get a lighter sentence? He is just another typical Labrano!
richfisher:
Agreed. The priniciple you describe has never failed me either. It’s like a first law of journalism.
If Fontana stays true to form, expect him to fight the charges, and a court case that pulls in testimony from all the players. If however he pleads guilty, there won’t be a public trial where all the details become public.
As to why only the charge for under $5000? Did you consider that the RCMP is holding that in reserve in case jofo decides to fight the charges?

Syncrodox.. After several minutes of hysterical laughter.. I stole your Registry thing and posted.. good one..
The hysterically funny aspect of this story is that apparently the CBC does not yet realize that we are all on to them. Much like Fontana, who thought he had a pass as well. When the CBC is finally caught out completely, there may be a lot of blood on the ground.
Fontana is holding a press conference. He is innocent,he tells you,and will not step down.
This is good, but not yet great — not, like, you know, Nelson great, or anything.
Al W, 11:30a.m.– Please wait before making a judgment.
We need to check into that Passport Office thingee that I mentioned a few weeks back. That might be the entree into, er, the “House of Cards”: “You might think that, but I couldn’t possibly say.”
That might actually take us right to the top: “I wish we had known more.”
A liberano stole money while in cabinet? What’s next – a corruption scandal within the liberal party? Don’t be surprised.
Here in AB we have a corruption scandal unfolding in allison redford’s own PC party. Turns out that the PCees have been breaking laws and stealing taxpayers cash and they have only been in power 41 years. Who knew?
Used to be that these kind of things only happened in quebec. Politicians there are expected to steal. Guess we wern’t paying close enough attention close to home. Very sad.

So very true. And as a collary,I would add if the UN or an eco-cultist suggest we do something,do the exact opposite.
The Star‘s free rag, Metro, had a large story about this today too that failed to mention his party and what governments’ he’d belonged to.
Just like to point out that the way for Fontana to prove he is innocent is if he can produce, or it comes out in the trial that he submitted a claim stating exactly what the funds where to be used for and someone in Public Works signed off on the request for funding.
Unethical yes, but if the disbursment is approved, he follwoed the rules.
Of course then it depends who at PW approved the expense and how far up the feeding chain it went.
If it went to the minister level…well if I recall the minister at the time was a guy that left the conservative party because he didn’t want to be the poster boy, and had a hard time keeping secrets about income trust decisions.
Anyways.
I’m greatful that Fontana’s ample ego didn’t let him plead guilty for this.
Now we can get all the details in a very public court case.
Details like:
How does nobody at the Marconi Club notice this for seven years?
joseph, you are wrong,if someome in Public Works approved a fraudulent bill, that does not absolve the person who submitted the fraudulent bill. We now have two crooks.
The Marconi club let it slide because they were eventually paid. It was a bit of trouble for them, but they got their money. They know who butters their bread.
The current ‘possible fraud(‘I’m being diplomatic) came out when Joe refused to pay the taxes on another son’s reception tab,for whatever reason ???,maybe he thought that he should not pay taxes because he was a Liberal, maybe because he thought paying taxes with taxes was redundant.
I don’t know,but I hope that answers your questions.
Typical Liberal…
