    I see NO proof offered that this beating was politically motivated, just an opinion. An opinion of a politician no less. I understand many really want it to be true, but that doesn’t make it so. If someone was shitkicked protecting an Obama sign, after the laughter, I think most here would be demanding proof a conservative was involved. And rightly so.
    On the other hand, one thing I have learned in this past decade is that you don’t have to be a hardcore political sycophant to be a hateful asshole, but it surely seems to help.

Conservative signs were trashed all across my riding in the last election, but no NDP signs were (the Libs were missing in action). These thugs were wrecking and/or stealing R-R signs – that’s a political act. Since nobody has been accused of stealing Obama signs, your demand for “proof” is irrelevant.

15. Obviously, CO, the sign thieves were collecting souvenirs of an important event that would change the course of the US. The signs would be quite valuable in the future somewhat like collecting Paul Revere silver artifacts or Ronald Reagan campaign buttons.     In a political campaign the leftwing parties and their allies play tactical hardball. It’s even traditional with some, e.g., union members and students. They know it’s important to get out their own message while impeding or preventing their opponents from doing the same.
    Accordingly they deface or destroy the opposition’s signage, posters, pamphlets, campaign offices, etc. They harass campaign volunteers and suspected supporters with late night phone calls and damaging their property such as cars and storefronts.
    It’s all about intimidation. If you can frighten and deter an opponent’s volunteers, you cripple that campaign. It’s that simple.

    Its not just bad manners, its an attack on freedom of expression, if not real bulling. What effect will this have on her willingness to be her own individual? Not just a part of the mob?

Thomas Sowell may be right: a Romney victory may lead to riots in the streets. And if so, I’m not sure I’ll burn any candles if some of the rabid left don’t make it through.
