“Albertans would rather pay and complain than stop the process”
It has nothing to do with complaining.
As an Albertan I’d rather pay to keep them on the reservation than have them travel and live over here for a handout, not unlike the US welfare ghetto system that keeps the blacks in the hood, or confined to virtual prison plantation cities like Detroit.
First and foremost I vote for separation and then a big fence around Quebec with travel/ work visa’s accompanying a passport.
Barring that we need to take a lesson from the Liberals with how they deal with black people, and just pay to keep them out as much as possible.
Of course if we were completely decadent like the Liberals we would also encourage young sexual promiscuity, lots of drug and alcohol abuse, single parent families, abortions on demand et al, but fortunately for us Quebecers readily and willingly do that to themselves thus keeping them out of our Alberta neighborhoods for the most part.

  2. “….after an extensive examination of four decades of research comparing organic and conventional foods.”
Gotta love studies that examine “others research” neglecting to mention who’s research, where and when. But as an aside disclaimer they do conveniently mention that there are controversies with pesticides, and the potential of losing certain benefits of organic foods.
Yawn, I wonder who funded the “study” and supplied the “research”.

  3. I will point out once again that there is something in Quebec, something distinct if you will, when it comes to crazies and guns. The list is long, from Denis Lortie and Marc (Gamil Gharbi)Lepine, to Valeri Fabrikant and Kimveer Gill. This guys, if he’s an anglo, will just continue the tradtion of shooters who did not fit into the rather xenophobic francophone society.
This YouTube video should be an eye opener for Anglos outside Quebec. Sure, most of these shooters are loonie toons but they are reacting to something no matter how inappropriately.

  4. Black Mamba:
Sorry to disappoint you, but the Surete du Quebec already have their man. “Richard” is Richard Bain, an English-speaking businessman from Mont-Tremblant. No relation or acquaintance of mine. Pity. I’d buy him a pint any day.
As it is, unlike the unrepentant felquistes, who got slaps on the wrist and roam Quebec free men, count on Marois to personally see to it that Richard Bain never spends another day of his life outside a prison or a mental institution. Keep Bain in your prayers, and keep an eye on the inevitable court case.
    Grey Lady:
No, Lower Canada is not Ulster. More’s the pity. If there had been a Lower Canada Volunteer Force or Defense Association to keep the FLQ at bay, the loyal Canadians of Lower Canada might have kept far more of their British liberties for far longer than they actually did.

  5. very convenient incident for an essentially Marxist party and province who want the gun registry to disarm their population – very convenient indeed.

  6. As of August 1, 2012, Quebec is allowed 44.1% of the dairy quota in Canada. Why?
    Ontario gets 31.9
Alberta gets 6.8, BC gets 6.3, SK gets 2, Manitoba gets 3.6…the Maritimes each get a bit above 1%.
Now, explain why Quebec is allowed such an important percentage of milk and dairy production, with half the population of Ontario.
How many farms are allowed, and I use that term with legal intent, in Saskatchewan? Only 182. In Quebec, there are 6,281. In fact, you’d have to add all of the dairy farms in Canada to equal those in Quebec.
Dairy production is tightly regulated in Canada. Remember the Canadian Wheat Board? And it favours production in Quebec. Apart from working for the federal bureaucracy and in head offices in Montreal, dairy farming is a major economy in Quebec. It could also be important elsewhere but it’s not allowed.

  7. Phil, I have yet to get a subsidy, I run 3 companies with land involved in 2 of them, I wish your ranting was true, you seem very troubled as you” phil “your loud pie hole with the produce every day from some plow jockey, as you put it. You should seek help before your the next housecoated whack job being handcuffed after hanging out and disrupting a farm meeting somewhere.

  8. From the article: “Canada is not Northern Ireland. Montreal is not Belfast. Whatever our political disagreements, we have no tradition of sectarian violence. This is not how we settle things.”
Well, not yet anyway. But the UTTER MORONS who write the headlines at Canada.com and this pinhead Stephen Mahar do seem very excited to have it go that way, don’t they? This is exactly the type of propagandist sh1t stirring that gets sectarian violence started.
Some random nut shoots somebody, the paper makes a big deal that he’s an Anglophone. Then some pur lain nut shoots somebody, the paper makes a big deal about he’s pur lain. Next, the punks get into the act and start beating up random Anglos. Then one of them gets shot by the cops. Then there’s a riot, then another riot, and et cetera.
This is the glide path that started Rwanda, and Yugoslavia, and quite a few more of these little “brushfire” wars/revolutions. It starts with that headline.
Black Mamba said: “What normal person wouldn’t be dying to congratulate and pal around with the brave man who just murdered “Denis Blanchette, a 48-year-old stagehand at the theatre.”
Right on. I propose that Moby Dick is either a government employee taking over Lucy’s beat, or someone who -really- doesn’t deserve to live in Canada. Hmm, perhaps both!

  9. Moby Dick said @5:16 – “I’d buy him a pint any day.”
I’m just surprised to learn he’s not a hell-and-brimestone teetoler who considers booze the Pope’s own Babylonian P*ss. Seems the type.

  10. I see somebody hit Pill on a nerve. Nice shot!
Then there’s the FrenchDip: “Pauline must team with Legault to get more cash and power from Ottawa.”
Dear dippy, what on earth makes you think we are all going to sit around and let that happen? Pauline is going to get -bupkis- from Ottawa. And she will get it so politely she won’t even be able to argue.
I just hope we can keep the likes of FrenchDip and MobyDickslime from starting up a nice little war here in Canada. That would p1ss me off, quite frankly.
Maybe if we stuck them together in a basement for a couple hours…

  11. Phil. listen carefully, crop insurance is just like your mommys car insurance, if you pile up mommys car going out for another doobie, hopefully she paid the premium so she gets something on this plane, lord knows she would deserve something, same thing with crop insurance, the farmer pays a premium to the insurance company, and hopes he never needs to use it. Same thing with nisa etc. Slow enough for you Phil.

  12. pill said: “What nerve would that be, tubesteak.”
The really lonely one that rattles inside when you shake your head…
Zombies walk -away- from you, don’t they pill?

  13. Osumashi Kinyobe said: “Phil, why are you so angry at everyone?”
pill doesn’t understand numbers, Osumashi. The mean numbers make the nerve tired when he tries to think about them. pill gets cranky when the nerve is tired.
Stop torturing the poor nerve, pill! Its all alone!

  14. Ever heard of the clawback Phil? just like the RRSP mom set up for you, the govt. will get their share back Phil, I’ll type slower if it would help, the nisa payment will be made and after the farmer goes around and pays all his bills like 350 an acre to plant and spray Canola and way more for corn, the govt calls for the clawback, ever heard of that, ask one of the farmers you so hate, if he doesn’t break your leftie nose first. Keep looking for the cure though Phil, these facts might be hard.

  15. Osumashi @11:39 – he’s never really gotten over Macho Grande. Those wounds run pretty deep.

  16. phil
Why the anger for farmers? Makes no sense, since they don’t make hardly a ripple in the debt. Most work winter jobs in the oil patch in Alberta to pay for equitment. Its not an easy life for most. Its why Agriculture comapnies are eating up family run farms. Its been the people of the CWB that has given growers a bad name. In some areas. Those few who made a bundle from this government rip off. Most people in any City. Hire farmers because of their handy man versatility with machines, with a sterling work ethic.
Did someone with a tractor mess with your lawn?

  17. pill said: “Is that the best you can do, tubesteak?”
That’s -Phantom- tubesteak to you, boy. And no, its not my best. Why throw pearls before swine, after all?
Then pill said: “In SK where the freeloader farmer to population ratio is highest…”
Yeah, that would be SK where 25% of the working population is employed by… wait for it pill… government. Did you know, pill, that government employees are a net -cost- to the economy, whereas farmers actually produce something that contributes a net -profit- to the economy? Plus is better than minus, pill. Do you get that?
Is the poor ronerey neuron getting sore from the mean math again pill? So sorry, maybe you should go back to colouring your happy unicorn picture.
