NBC News is said to have launched an internal investigation into why it posted an edited version of George Zimmerman’s call to a 911 dispatcher made prior to a shooting incident resulting in the death of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin. The altered version made it appear as though Martin’s race was an important factor that night for Zimmerman, when, in fact, he was only answering a question posed by a 911 dispatcher.

  8. This is not looking good for Black and Hispanic racial relations, much less Hispanic democrat support for Obamba when they throw them under the bus like this.
    Now Sharpton is calling for domestic terrorism and holding the US legal system hostage if they don’t arrest the Hispanic Democrat. (story on Drudge).
    I don’t think he should be pushing a race war between the Black Panthers and La Raza like this just because he thinks Obamba is on board with it. At the end of the day this will not go over well for the black community.

  11. Considering the way the left-ish MSM has been behaving ever since Obama’s campaign against McCain, it’s not surprising that they would deliberately try to stoke the flames of a race war. NBC’s behaviour in this case is entirely in keeping with the pro-Dem media’s demonstrated propensity to almost pruriently support unrest and radical actions, whether it be the Occupy movement or, in this case, the race-baiters.
    They do this because the Occupiers and the race-baiters are anti-Republican and pro-Obama. Like the TOTUS, pro-Dem media could give a rat about harming America, or about unrest, so long as they help motivate the “base.” And they know that the Democrats’ bottom-line base is truly base — morally bankrupt, perpetually aggrieved, with an eye towards compensation, and easily manipulated and inflamed.
    What a terrific uniter this president has been.

    I have decided that there is a question as yet unasked, and therefore unanswered.
    What happened with the iced tea?
    Think about it.
    I’m very sure the media has effed up the story even if they were trying to get it right. (heh)
    If the tea is spilled, proximate to the physical conflict, Zimmerman has a problem.
    If the tea was placed down, unspilled, then you know Travon went in knowing that the tea would have been spilled otherwise.

    Not sure I fully understand, the Martin/ Zimmerman shooting happened on Feb 26/12 and took roots online/ MSM well before Obamba and Sharpton found their opportunity worthwhile. At the least the recent Mar 14/12 LA racial attack reflects the current sensitivity of the ongoing Black/ Hispanic race war, which Obamba and Sharpton have shamelessly flamed.
    Why would a US President, take the time to inject himself into dangerous domestic race/cultural wars by taking sides? Is there not enough happening in Iran, Syria, North Korea, Israel, Libya, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Venezuela, Sudan, Congo, Uganda……or the golf course in Maui to keep him occupied?

Knight 99, the first reports about the Martin-Zimmerman confrontation were around March 9, and did not mention that Zimmerman was part Hispanic; the first stories (e.g. http://www.cfnews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/news/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2012/3/8/shot_teen_s_family_w) called him a “neighborhood watchman” and didn’t mention race at all. The black angle was brought up pretty quickly, but the Hispanic one didn’t appear for quite some time.
    As you and I both noted, the attack you reference probably reflects generally bad black/Hispanic relations in the LA area. And, of course, Obama as usual made the situation worse.

    The Democrats/Obama are presumably thinking that the GOP will pick Rubio as the VP, and vilifying an Hispanic now, will assist them in attacking Romney and Rubio. OR – will prevent Romney from picking Rubio.
    Obama has the black vote, as a mindless following, already. I doubt if Obama’s unseemly intrusion into this Florida situation is to get the black vote. It might be to ensure it, but…
    I think that Obama’s behaviour was to divert from the economy, focus (as usual) on an emotional hysteria and dividing the people..and weaken Rubio and Romney.

  25. As for why the delay in coverage, the MSM were busy with the “Rush Limbaugh and all conservatives hate women” narrative. It wasn’t until after that attempted silver bullet failed miserably that they needed to deflect attention. Sandra Fluke is already fading from memory, and wasn’t “big” enough to even warrant inclusion in trivia questions in a couple of years.

I get infinitely more information here than at all the newspapers on the web, with their (dwindling) legions of reporters and “fact checkers”. The real losers are at my local paper, which just had another round of buyouts and layoffs.

  29. There is going to be a tense situation in about 10 days or possibly later. When the state fails to charge Zimmerman, the grand jury fails to indict him, or the trial jury fails to convict him the poo will hit the fan. With all the unsubstantiated race baiting going on they had better release a very careful narrative accompanied by 100 % of the evidence. The one last key for Zimmerman will be if the guy who brought fists to a gunfight is full of speed, crack, etc.. It would complete the narrative quite nicely.
    The Ar$eholes thought they had themselves a Jew to crap on and he ends up being Hispanic. Disappointed they then describe him as a white Hispanic which odds say he isn’t. Trayvon and Zimmerman have a lot more in common than they have differences. Zimmerman was just a bit smarter.

    Over at PJ Media, Christian J. Adams, a lawyer who resigned from Holder’s DOJ because of Holder’s blatantly racist policies, says that there will definitely BE an election. He reiterated that opinion many times to posters, who proposed there wouldn’t be an election. Adams is pretty smart and very well informed: I respect his opinion.
    That said, there will still be lots of fraud and other skulduggery . . .

    It doesn’t matter; there is no appeasing black hostility to the mythical “white system” and their perceived injustices any more than Islam can be appeased in the UK & Europe. Sharpton is no different than a radical Imam terrorizing society with calls for blood in the streets unless the system meets their demands.
    The Liberal MSM lies, steals, and cheats to promote their ideological agenda’s getting rich in the process via the blood and terror created in society. However it’s created is immaterial to them. The Liberal governing establishment loves the distraction from International and other corporate affairs as it suites them. It allows them to slowly squeeze the Constitution taking power from the people and putting it into their own hands ever more.

    Zimmerman was ticked off that no-one responded to his cries for help.
    The witness said that Zimmerman was crying for help.
    The 14 year old other eye witness said that Zimmerman was on the bottom presumably in need of help.
    Trayvon’s dad initially said that the person calling for help.
    You would figure that would be just about enough. Now we get multiple sound experts with only Zimmerman’s relaxed voice compared to his distressed voice with no voice for Trayvon Martin saying it was likely not Zimmerman’s voice. Pure idiots and nothing more.

  41. The newest witness who appears out of the blue said Zimmerman was sitting on Trayvon’s back while he was face down. He then apparently used Lee Harvey Oswald’s bullet to shoot him in the chest. More idiots.

  42. The Breitbart link, unfortunately, doesn’t clearly and concisely communicate the extent of what NBC did. The problem isn’t that the exchange was “abridged”, or that NBC “forgot” to include the dispatcher’s question to Zimmerman – those two actions would arguably have been merely misleading, or perhaps an unintentional error caused by the time constraints of network news. The scandal here is that NBC deliberately — mindfully, willfully — edited and spliced Zimmerman’s words to make it sound like he was saying that blacks are up to no good.
    Here’s the actual exchange between Zimmerman and the dispatcher:

    Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
    Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
    Zimmerman: He looks black.

    Here’s what NBC aired:

    Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.

    That’s a thousand times worse than just “forgetting” to including the dispatcher’s question. It’s a deliberate, provocative falsification that they knew would further incite racial unrest.
    Someone at NBC – or a whole group of people – need to be held responsible for this deliberate, violence-inducing LIE.
