    There’s nothing creepier on earth than a member of the dear-leader-loving, would-be-overlord left using the phrase “certain elements,” particularly when the “certain elements” are American veterans who oppose putting a crypto-communist’s face on Old Glory.

No apology forthcomming from the democrats for stirring the controversy in the first place? A mention of apology from the TV station covering the story? Seems like the TV station ended the story by ‘blaming’ the Veterans indirectly.

  13. Long time ago dated a girl who, during a conversation about the Canadian flag-can’t touch the ground, must be lit up if flown at night,not dirty and rules of deposing of worn out flags-surmised that there were too many rules regarding flags.
    I asked her to ask her Grandfather, a WW2 vet what he might think of those rules.
    It is rare a blond gets it but she finally did.
    Flags mean something. I swear the left would disrespect the dead at a funeral for political or environmental (perceived) gains

  19. We truly must have entered the Twilight Zone, folks. It will be interesting to see if a poll of Americans is done, asking how they feel about a U.S. flag with Obama’s image on it. Why do I suspect that a majority of Democrat supporters would be perfectly fine with it?!
    Incidentally, just imagine if someone had flown a U.S. flag with George Bush’s image or a Canadian flag with Stephen Harper’s image. Suddenly the “understanding” Leftists would have a very different view, wouldn’t they?!

    Religion: Leftism
    Church of Leftism in America: Democrats
    Current Cult Leader: Barack Obama
    Once you put things in that context then you begin to understand why creating a flag like this one is no big deal, why imposing your beliefs on a religion is no big deal, why borrowing trillions more than any president before you is no big deal.

    Big Government is their biggest membership, but we can add many other affiliated sects such as environmentalism, feminism and even Atheism.   27. A side issue of this story, but a very important issue nonetheless, is the suppression of this story [so far] by much of the MSM. You can see for yourself what coverage it’s getting by checking back here. Currently the number of news stories on it is just 30. Every news organization in America knows of it by now but most will not cover this story. This provides a vivid explanation of why so few Americans are informed on the less than positive acts by Democrats. The Media Party simply won’t tell them.

  41. A true story about the egomaniacal tendencies of lefties. As an undergrad in college I took a philosophy course taught by a far left Professor from Greece.. He invited our small class to his home one Sat for coffee, etc. In the dining room he had painted a Greek frieze as a border all the way round the top of the walls depicting all the Greek Gods in Olympus in poses appropriate to their station–except each one depicted HIS likeness as the head! LOL!!

  46. I’m always a bit puzzled when some folks get worked up about the ‘desecration’ of a piece of fabric – or the pages of a holy book.

  47. Jamie – it’s simple. If it is the banner a nation has gone to war under, then people have died for it. If it is the book that guides how you live your life (and you believe it is the word of God), it’s part of you. They are figuratively peeing on dead soldiers. Would you like it if a number of your political enemies arranged peeing parties on your grandparents graves? Would it be any better if they were showering you? Even if you disagree that a flag or a holy book are that important to you, can you see how others might think that way?
    I look at it as being similar to use of violence in a public setting: rude, rarely called for, and usually condemned unless in retaliation or to control an illegal individual.
