I have always believed that conservatives have to be better than liberals to prevent the “Consensus Media” from ganging up on us and attacking. They, the CM, don’t bother with truth; they make it up as they go along. They are the truth and the way. We must be careful what ammunition we give them.
I’ll bite. Clicking on Dorothy takes you a debate on the double standard of “conservative” vs. “liberal” rhetoric.
Rush L should have never apologized for the “slut” remark. Instead he should have come out with all guns blazing. Never give in to the tactic of making the debate about language, when the liberal types are FAR more offensive, far more often.

When a portion of the population fails to show up at the riot…another does.
Fortunately more and more people are now refusing to be intimidated by the supposedly debate ending leftist tactics of being called a “racist” or a “fascist”. The best defense, I’ve found, is to go on the offensive. Leftists fold very easily when subject to a barrage of facts coming from someone who they perceive is very ready to get physical if they throw a tantrum (their other way of attempting to end debates not going in their direction).
As far as calling someone a slut, it seems to be the primary goal in life of young schoolgirls now and, on closer questioning when I’m diagnosing them with yet another case of chlamydia, its clear that they don’t just go for the sluttish look.
We have a long way to go before we descend to the level of the left. Usually laughter is the best medicine. For instance, the fact that Sandra Fluke seems to need contraception EVERY DAY (plus three times at weekends) if her figures are true should be hammered.

And Kathy Shaidle’s “slutaquiddick” should be “nymphoquiddick”

Andrew McCarthy has a must read at NRO on Chairman Ow. McCarthy pegs him as a radical in the Gramsci, Cloward-Piven, Alinsky mold.
And, he notes that the “Gitmo Bar” has infiltrated the DOJ, where “Lawyers who thought our enemies were worth volunteering to help are now the lawyers who make counterterrorism policy for the country “.

Thank goodness it is a minority, although many of the high school girls I see around town do dress quite differently than they did when I was in high school. We never let our girls walk out of the house like that and now they do not let their girls walk out like that either.
When it comes to politics nice guys finish first only in fairy tales. The radicals will always win unless they are met with equivalent response.
Rush should have apologized to fellow conservatives for having missed the point of Ms Fluke’s staged appearance in a bit of Democratic street theatre, apologized for being sucked into the performance in a role that his enemies scripted for him.
I think we’ve played nice long enough, the latest media generated scandal is the last straw and we need to fight back against the alliance between liberal media and the political left. First boycotte them, and challenge them all over the net.
As I was reading this thread, I clicked onto Ralph Goodale’s facebook on Instapundit. Good old Ralph … same old smug, sh*t-eating grin on his face. He goes on and on and on about the so-called robo-call “scandal”. When the whole mess is cleared up, I wonder if he will retract some of his rhetoric? I’m guessing not. Ralphie did not compare robo-call to Adscam. I wonder why not?
Moneyrunner’s assertion that conservatives who take issue with Limbaugh’s remarks do so “to remain in good standing with the people who openly despise them” makes about as much sense as saying that someone who criticizes a teammate for losing the ball to the opposition is “trying to remain in good standing” with the opposing team. The notion that conservatives who aren’t in favour of misogynist slurs are trying to curry the favour of those who chuckle and nod and cheer when Bill Maher calls Sarah Palin a c**t is likewise completely illogical.
I strongly believe that Bill Maher and Rush Limbaugh and David Letterman have every right to use misogynist slurs whenever they want, and that conservatives who think such slurs are dumb aren’t betraying the “cause.”
Here’s Moneyrunner’s description of conservatives who expressed displeasure at Limbaugh’s name-calling “slut” remark:

Huh? Conservatives who believe – like my parents and my grandparents did – that people who bark out misogynist slurs are low-brow idiots are “Jews in concentration camps that helped the guards”?
