    Since the 1930′s the tactic of divide and conquer has been a staple of the Democratic Party. The point is to create victim groups which can be pitted against one another and which then require the protection and support of the Party to survive and prosper. The Party needs to obtain and maintain power to tend to these group’s needs. At one level pushing the LGBT agenda is just that, soliciting the support of another victim group.

    Others above have noted that the Party has recently accelerated the implementation of various elements of the Progressive Totalitarian agenda. This looks to me like a panic reaction. My admittedly cynical intuition suggests to me that this is being done because they do indeed see the writing on the wall and know that their star has passed its apogee. So there is a frantic effort to stuff kindling into everything and get it set alight while they still have the levers of power in their grasp. Better to crash the system now rather than let the controls pass to others, at least they’ll be able, they think, to control the aftermath, which is the best they can hope for. This is crazy, but when your ideology is based on an unworkable, irrational theory, crazy is the best you can do. Better to hope to retain total power over a broken world than share power in a whole one. It is an old motto: Non serviam!”

  36. My letter to Minister Kenney and the Presidents and media departments of several Canadian Universities – enjoy.
    “Dear Minister Kenney; and in particular, this letter is directed to the ladies and gentlemen of our once-respected academic institutions:
    I would like to add my voice to those of the growing number of Canadians who see through the smokescreen of mendacity and Arab propaganda that is at the heart of the “Boycott Israeli Apartheid” campaign. Our young people are at a vulnerable stage in their lives; they wish to be seen to be compassionate, to wish to leave the world a better place. This makes them ideal targets for the kind of Judaeophobic propaganda disseminated in their schools. From your perspective, I imagine that allowing these protests to occur on your (largely publicly funded) campuses speaks to your desire to be seen to promote free speech. However, I think it is salutary to give serious consideration to the line that must sometimes be drawn between free speech and hate speech.
    I recently felt compelled to have this same argument with the Director of the Vancouver Public Library, which had provided meeting space for an indoctrination session – I can think of no other term for it since it was based entirely on the distortion of reality, very much in the manner of the Third Reich – organized by the local faction of Boycott Israeli Apartheid. Did she, I wondered, also approve of free speech in the form of, for example, child pornography? If I asked for meeting space to provide a platform to discuss the atavistic, violent character of the religion of Islam, would it be granted? What I received in return was more or less what I expected: a form letter dismissing my concerns. I hope I might expect better from people who are hopefully both more sensitive and more capable of genuine discourse than a minor civic functionary.
    I had the good fortune to grow up at a time when Israel was recognized by all thinking persons as a nation of heroes who repeatedly managed to turn back attacks from multiple enemies while simultaneously suffering internal terrorism, beginning the moment it declared nationhood. A nation that has given the world a disproportionate number of its technological advances and Nobel laureates – a nation that by any standard is the only democracy in the entire region, for indeed from its inception Israel was intended to be inclusive of all its peoples, all of whom were explicitly invited to share in that ideal of democracy and prosperity. A nation that turned a neglected colonial backwater into a blooming, vital bastion of civility. What the “Palestinian” people – a term devised by the area’s former British colonial masters having no significance for people with any awareness of history – did in response to that invitation does not bear repeating. Today, our young people are being literally denied access to these simple truths by the concerted propaganda efforts of groups like Boycott Israeli Apartheid; groups that are in fact simply expatriate “Palestinians” exercising their imagined “right” to bring their now 60-year old terrorist movement to our shores. Which brings me to my point.
    “Boycott Israeli Apartheid” is a movement in support of Judaeophobic terrorism – no more and no less. It was conceived, organized, and is being disseminated by terrorists – in philosophy if not in actual deed; although if one has any imagination at all it isn’t much of stretch to believe these people will not be indefinitely content with mere protest. People whose lives revolve around hatred over imagined injustice rarely are. I ask therefore that you consider banning these protests from your campuses. As with the Vancouver Public Library, I am absolutely certain that your mandate should be first and foremost to serve the public; not to offer special privileges to any particular group, never mind one with such a bloody history and thoroughly evil intentions.
    One final thought: I believe that the reason these terrorists have long felt it was their right to expand their campaign into Canada is precisely because previous Governments deliberately created an atmosphere that felt welcoming to such people: an atmosphere of complete inclusiveness for all, even Judaeophobic propagandists.
    I voted for the Conservative Party of Canada, as I know the majority of my fellow voters did, because I had faith that this atmosphere would (in spite of the most vitriolic opposition and the obvious difficulty of undertaking such an enormous task) at long last be dismantled. I am proud and pleased to see that this is finally taking place after four decades of what I can only call self-imposed blindness to reality to the point of psychosis. You academics can either participate in this rolling back of the effects of four decades of internally and externally imposed Socialist propaganda, or consign yourselves to irrelevancy; the time is long past due to make an honest and informed choice.”

That an institution, so full of the “crème de la crème” of society, has fallen—THUD!—for so many modern—well, they’ve been around forever—ruses still astonishes me, though it shouldn’t. Yet people wonder why we and the USA are failing so miserably to compete with countries like the People’s Republic of China, which annually churns out mind-boggling numbers of engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists and other people who do *useful* things for a living. And this trend will only continue. A “Liberal” Arts degree now is like a degree in blacksmithing, or a better analogy might be flint knapping – Universities should absolutely, as point of honour, stop accepting public funding for those programs, and financial institutions ought to by-God know better by now than to offer student loans for them.
    One day, if the damned LPC (again) or NDP ever get the kind of power they so disgustingly slaver for, we’re going to wake up and realize that the PRC has in fact long since given up anything resembling Socialism, and that we’re the Albania of the 21st century.

    Why EBD associates Cyrano de Bergerac with amusement and/or approval I’m not sure. Maybe he likes Cyrano. Maybe he enjoys mocking people with facial deformities and consequent disappointing love lives. I just don’t know. Anyway that’s my take.

  45. BTW, I expect that the notion of banning anyone from saying anything they want anywhere they want will rankle some. Please note that I don’t give a rat’s ass. I later wrote to Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant, whom I’d Cc’d on the letter, that although I sympathize with their own experience vis-a-vis attempts to suppress their freedom of speech, I found the view that this freedom needs to be applied universally somewhat naive in the current climate. Quote:
