You may be familiar with Nikki Yanofsky who sang the Olympic song. But she made her name singing classic jazz, began touring at age thirteen. Her first record was recorded live and features primarily Ella Fitzgerald songs. It’s called “Ella, of Thee I Swing.”
A great Canadian talent, and I think she’s just out of high school now.
This could be prevented if they treated hollywood to the same limitations as they do to professional sports.

I confess to momentary adulation after watching the bodyguard….once. That was the intent…and to put asses in seats and sell records…. There is no shame to be influenced by that…anymore than shame to be cheated by a con-man. Those who criticise have never met such….
My advantage is life experience. While semi-retired I was engaged as a bullet stopper(body guard)….after a bit I walked away…. not because of the bullets….but to preserve what small respect I still had for others…..it was….tiring.

Showbiz is obviously a hellishly toxic environment. You don’t ever hear really good stories coming out of Hollywood or the music industry, do you? At best, it’s “Robert Downey Jr. finally seems to have quit drugs, but we’ll see”. Even Lindsay Lohan was a talented (she was a decent actress), fresh-faced kid not that long ago. Then her parents abandoned her at 16 in Sin City, some director used her as a quick boff when she was 20, and now she looks 45 and she’s a sociopathic zombie who repeatedly gets off with light community service where any of us would be doing time, and even then she doesn’t bother to show up for her appointments. (The legal system round those parts is obviously just another enabler.)
Grey Lady, must you sign off your angrier comments with “have a nice day now”? It reminds me of those women who feel the need to plaster a smile over their teeth even as they’re spitting in rage. Always weirds me out. I like a lot of what you have to say generally, but…

Yes the law and order group magically made her a criminal where as folks that drink them selves to death just lack restraint. Prohibition does not work yet hypocritically you are willing to criminalize thousands on a probation that has not worked for decades.
I also chose not to drink, nor do I do drugs, but unlike others I have no fears in allowing others to peruse their own poison. I am not interested in holding an implied gun to their head to force them to do MY will.

like wise, booze and drugs are two different things, and have different social nitchs, and need to be delt with in two different ways, once the lefties (including LIBERALtarians) figure this out, we can start on a cohersive method of social correction to abuse of these two substances
