  2. Been having a back and forth on Twitter today with some typical econuts.
    I asked a simple question.
    Where will the materials come from to manufacture the millions of windmills, the billions of solar cells and the billions of batteries it would take to replace present engry production? In just the presntly industrialized countries.
    The mining operations would make Ft Mac look like a small scale demonstration project.
    As expected, I got a pile of unicorn fart ideas as to where and how to get the materials.
    Tommorow I ask if they want all electric cars (we know they do). Then I get to ask where the materials come from to double, maybe triple the size of the power grid.
    Don’t kid yourselves folks, Twitter can be fun…….LOL!

  7. Here’s an answer for the eco-twits:
    PV solar is as dirty or perhaps even dirtier than the oil sands. It’s not economically feasible to produce PV solar in North America. The labor costs in North America are prohibitively expensive and North American environmental regulations which keep our air, water and land from being heavily polluted don’t exist in Asia, so nearly all of the PV production is over there where they can pollute and keep their production costs low. The electricity to run their PV solar factories comes from dirty coal and the factories dump pollution into the environment. The same goes for their wind turbines.

  16. From a nation that thrives on the notion of a one-tier healthcare system we have a province looking into a two-tier minimum wage.
    It seems that New Brunswick wants to pay food services stall less because of the “tip” factor. There are obviously people out there that like to subsidize businesses by paying part of the staff’s wages directly. According to the article Ontario seems to have different minimum wages for folks working in an establishment that served alcohol.

    Without reading this “in depth” “analysis” I’m guessing that the reforms won’t include this one: Let’s Try It!
    It seems to be a product tie-in as a few hundred elties are soon to gather at Davos to discuss the issue and design a superior system.

    I disagree with neo-neocons over simplified analysis.
    Newt is the only one who can articulate that which Americans of all political beliefs are thinking. If that wasn’t the case, someone else would have done so already. Mitt for example. And, it’s more than a debate with Obama on NBC, it’s about the debate the public is going to have. Newt is the only person with the stuff to initiate the conversation that needs to be had. You know…the conversation that Republicans, Democrats and the MSM have been stifling for what seems my entire adult life.
    In other words… Newt is the only person demonstrating what is so desperately needed right now: leadership!
    If you can argue otherwise… be my guest.

Conn Smythe Trophy winning-goaltender Tim Thomas did not attend the visit hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama and the team explained that he would post a statement regarding his actions on his Facebook page on Monday night“.
    Thomas may be a little flakey (a goalie doncha know), but to me, indicates personal integrity, and shows himself to be an excellent judge of character. WTG TIM!

  42. Indy @3:12 – dead thread by now, but I took Neo’s main point to be just that Newt is polling horribly, and there’s no reason to think that will change. I like him better than I like the others too (which isn’t saying much), but if he can’t win then he can’t win.
