The “Party of the Future” Can’t Figure Out How to Vote

Our self-proclaimed betters are having a little problem at their convention: Their wireless electronic voting system has crashed.

Perhaps this is a metaphor for the Liberals in general: Up the Creek Without a Paddle!
Update: Jeffrey Simpson is convinced Bob Rae will become the permanent leader of the Liberals.   h/t ‘batb     The National Citizens Coalition isn’t so sure this is a good idea for the country.

Update 2: More hilarious tweets from #LPC12:

  1. Their whole convention has been farcical. It started with a twitter spat over what the official convention hashtag should be, then their crappy cardboard RENEWAL facade kept collapsing.
They followed that with the President’s debate where the electronic timer kept cutting the candidates short. Of course that wasn’t enough…they’ve created second class LPC members and now they can’t count votes properly.
    Looks good on the fools.

  2. One guy just said that he’s had enough . He’s going to the Laurier room (the bar) that he couldn’t get into for the last 2 days. He’ll share rounds with McCallum and likely discuss infiltration of the party.

  3. See link at Paul Wells twitter feed to his new blog post..from it,this gem: Bob Rae consoled Iggy on Fri nite by telling him, elections are a ‘crap-shoot’ This sounded to some in the press stands like contempt for democracy.

  4. If Bob Rae becones the permanent leader of the liberal party, … let me know how that turns out.

  5. Some of those media tweets are classic…I’m really surprised by the apparent ‘honesty’ in them…
I’m hoping the CPC is watching all this and having a real party!

  6. It’s almost sounding like the liberal press are starting to realize their party is toast. I guess that would kind of explain last week’s freak outs.

I get the sense that those disparaging tweets by the usual MSM cheerleaders are born of utter exasperation at the gong show that is #lpc12…it’s hard to cheer for a living when your team looks absolutely idiotic.

  8. Jeffrey Simpson’s opinions account for what? Opinions. Mostly he gets it wrong.
At some point the libs will again form the gov’t. It’s the Canadian way. The ‘conservatives’ might run a coupla majority governments and then it will be back to liberals. Unless something big comes along that causes a total collapse of the LPC.
Wonder what happened to the 2 billion that was spent on the long gun registry? Think it could have be the stolen by the same bunch that made off with the Adscam money? Just askin’.

  9. On a bright note, Jason Cherniak looked quite upset tonight when I was watching the CPAC coverage. Damn I miss him and his buffoonery.

  10. If Bob Rae becones the permanent leader of the liberal party, … let me know how that turns out.

As Bob Rae was an NDP Premier of Ontario, I’d think that as permanent leader of the Libs he would oversee a merger between the Liberal and ND parties.
Maybe call it the New Liberal Democrat party.

  11. The new Lieberal leader should be the man/woman/alien who can out-drink McCallum.
I’m just saying; steady nerves and all that.

“Maybe call it the New Liberal Democrat party.”
I guess Communist Party of Canada is already taken.
