When he was interrupted during his remarks by Occupy protesters shouting, “Christie kills jobs! Christie kill jobs!” Christie deadpanned, “Really?”
“Somebody’s going down tonight, but it ain’t going to be jobs, sweetheart,” Christie rejoined from the stage as the chanting continued from a cluster in the audience. “There’s this confusion that’s out there because if she was in New Jersey . . . she would know that we created 60,000 new private-sector jobs.”
Saying that the female protester was “blinded” by her enthusiasm for Obama, Christie continued, “And if she wasn’t so disoriented by the loss of hope and change, she’d understand that . . . Mitt Romney is the hope for America’s future.”
He went on to blast Obama to the clapping and cheering attendees as a “Chicago ward politician.”
It was in marked contrast to how Romney had handled the protesters who interrupted him earlier at the event.

Romney’s main hope is to name Christie his running mate.
“Christie kills public sector jobs” might ring true, which of course is why the leftards are upset. Private sector, non-union jobs don’t count.
Obamma is the diversity president. He was always promoted even tho he failed his grades because he was BLACK. He never soiled his hands with work, he never had any kind of real job in his life. The biggest personal deal he ever negotiated was with Tony Rezco, Rezco is now in jail. Obamma was nothing but a rascist, petty Chicago Ward Heeler and flim flam man….
Why does the left care if “Christie kills jobs”? Most of the protesters are willfully unemployed and waiting for the great messiah to wave his hand and provide free money for all.

Can anyone think of another example of a Mormon politician who has been successful on the national stage? I worry about Romney’s ability to identify with and engage those from outside his world. This incident supports my concerns.

Help me out here, turtle. What is it specifically about Mormons that “concerns” you when they run for public office at the national level? I’m not a huge Romney fan, but I base my decision on his current political platform and past performance, not his religion. Are you “concerned” about all religious people or just Mormons?
Also, off the top of my head, there are Bill Bennett (long-time Senator from Utah) and Harry Reid (current Majority Leader in the Senate from Nevada) who are Mormons and successful politicians on the national stage. There are others, which I’m sure you’ll want to look up for your own enlightenment and edification.
I’m not anti-Mormon, or any religious group for that matter…and I realise it’s a tough question to ask without coming across that way. But I think it’s important because when I have seen people from insular backgrounds, where they have not interacted with a wide cross-section of people in their life, they have not done as well in either the corporate or political world.
If you can’t relate to the man on the street, it’s hard to convince him to support you. Call it the Ignatieff principle (R).
The choices on the Republican side are not setting the world on fire for me. So I was interested in the mormon angle. I did not know that Harry Reid was mormon, thanks for that. That’s what I was asking, and yes, I did a bit of looking online first without much success, just some stuff about Pat Buchanan’s sister Angela.
Obamacare – Romneycare, the only difference in these two sociaist heath systems is the writer. Romney is a GOP CINO judas goat _ and Repubicans are faling for the bait.

I apologize if I’m misreading your meaning, but it’s not correct to say that Romney is the product of an insular, Mormon background. His father was Governor of Michigan – a fairly liberal state. Romney himself was Governor of Massachusetts – an extremely liberal state. So he has interacted with people from a wide cross-section of interests, experience, and political leanings and been successful, both politically and in the private sector.
I would agree that he may have problems relating to the man-on-the-street (he’s not the most charismatic guy around), but not IMO because of his religion. I’m not sure what it is about the Mormon religion that gets some people worked up. Most people I know couldn’t care less if a candidate is Catholic, Jewish or whatever. Why are Mormons treated differently? I have worked and been friends with many Mormons over the years and I have generally found them to be good, decent people. While I don’t agree with all their beliefs, I don’t know of anything that would prevent a Mormon from serving honorably and successfully in any elected position.
I do agree with you about the GOP field. There isn’t really anyone that I get excited about. However, you work with what you’ve got. Romney’s too squishy for my taste, but Romney at his worst would be a huge improvement over Obama. If Romney’s the GOP nominee, I’ll hold my nose and vote for him. He’s promised to overturn Obamacare – that’s the most important thing the next President can accomplish, IMO.
Christie had me at telling off little Ms. Social Justice. Lost me-or rather saddened-me at telling us that Romney aka White Obama is the future.

Think about this for a moment: Annoying protesters try to disrupt the Romney-Christie event shouting endlessly like moonbats, but the objects of their aspersion have to be careful about how they respond to them.
Thankfully some women aren’t allowing their sisters to play the victim card.

Until we get more straight up politicans like Christie in the USA and Canada we will be hooped. I can only hope that Romney talks him into the VP position.
