If you have a friend who repeatedly tells you how open-minded he is, does his rote repetition ever reach a point where you think he’s covering up for his lack of open-mindedness? If you have a friend who constantly hints at how generous he is, but yet never seems to pick up his fair share of a restaurant bill, never seems to donate to charity, and never seems available to help you out with large or small tasks, do you begin to think he’s full of it?
In this light, Mark Steyn eviscerates the WaPo’s Eugene Robinson, who has long claimed that his column is all about empathy. After his vicious attack against the Santorum family, and by extension all families who have lost a baby right before or after childbirth, it’s little wonder why Robinson feels the need to keep reminding everyone that he’s a Man of Empathy. Fact is, he’s not. Even worse, he’s indicative of the modern Leftist mindset, which feels there’s nothing wrong with saying the vilest of things, as long as they’re against your political enemies.
The comments on this video about the Santorums and their dead child are absolutely common amongst Leftists these days. Here’s just one example:

Several years ago, during a debate on partial birth abortion, Santorum was the guy who asked several politicians what should happen — legally speaking — if the baby is born completely before the abortion is done. The senators — Wisconsin’s former senator Russ Feingold among them — didn’t know what to say.
The left, steeped in years of pro “choice” political rhetoric and immersed in circles that worship abortion as a sacrament, are absolutely incapable of understanding the Santorums’ actions because they do not have the mental or emotional capacity to understand that children — both unborn in the womb and newborn — are human beings worthy of respect and dignity.
They believe life is disposable, something to be destroyed on a whim (“Hey, who knew a night of drunken sex could lead to pregnancy? Why should I have to take responsibility for my actions?!”) and — conversely — created as a commodity (the same folks who are rabidly pro-abortion would go to the mat to defend the “right” of a lesbian couple to receive artificial insemination even if it violated the doctor’s moral beliefs).
So when they see someone who treats human life — even as young as 2 hours old — with dignity and respect, their brains are literally incapable of processing this information. Their hearts and souls are repulsed by such actions because they believe all human life — from conception to death — is a commodity to be used only for the good of the Nanny state.
Every single one of them disgusts me.

Not so with the right, which is why there is such a diametrically opposite viewpoint concerning the importance and rights of the unborn. Even iberia, doubtless more loathsome in real life than his postings on SDA indicate, likely had a mother who loved him as an infant, and wanted the best for him when he was in the womb. Bet she’d be as proud as punch to read through your hateful, ignorant screeds here, eh iberia?
