A Council Of Canadians Petition is about to go horribly wrong….
UPDATE: What have they to fear but SDA itself? The page can no longer be edited! Here’s where you can ask Maude Barlow why she’s afraid to forward the opinions of real Canadians.

What Knacker said @ 6:03.
Maud Barlow has had a “sky is falling” mindset for so long that her facial features indicate a bursting into tears at any moment. She already had that look during the Mulroney years. It must take a lot of practice.
On a serious side, I really wish that the government would tighten up the 3rd party funding of special interest groups or political organizations.

Agreed … and full disclosure.

I wonder if the Plumbers and Pipefitters union are aware their contribution and membership is being used to kill jobs for their own members?
Maude Barlow , two stands off bottom and drilling ahead.

It would be interesting to know the donation to membership ratio… the program to income ratio seems consistent…Bono would be proud…

Strange – no auditor’s report, balance sheet, or notes. If this is the real annual report for the benefit of members it is very unsatisfactory.
The combining of memberships and contributions is deceptive. A wild guess is that memberships would be a very insignificant portion. It would be really interesting to know where their cash is coming from.
Over 2,000 people who give over $500.

The Liberal Party of Canada received donations of $7 million compared to Council Of Canadians $5 million. Purely strange but okay by me.
They also say they don’t take money from government or political parties, not mentioning organized labour.
My guess is that this is Odd Maude’s Empire. They publish a list of their accomplishments over the last 25 years which are humourous in its insignificance.

If you’re Catholic, your church wants to do damage to the economy.
TIP OF THE ICEBERG ALERT!
Read this Reuters article, “Avoid fracking earthquakes: expensive venture”. It appears this is the new comprehensive attack on development of North American energy, fracking of shale oil and natural gas.
When it comes to enviromentalists, I don’t believe in coincidences.
TIP OF THE ICEBERG ALERT!
When it comes to environmentalists and their unrelenting attacks on modernity and energy development, I don’t believe in coincidences. Read this Reuters article, “Avoiding fracking earthquakes: expensive venture”.
Look for a coordinated attack on development by fracking of North American energy, shale oil and gas. This is the enemy’s new strategy.
When did fracking become a bogus target for environmentalists? It’s just a routine part of running oil and gas wells and has been pretty much forever. Somebody must have figured it was a good target because there seems to be a co-ordinated effort by those who would destroy the economy.

From your link: “It basically greases the wheels of the earthquake process that is there naturally and causes the earthquakes to occur at lower stress levels than they might normally have needed to occur,” said Larry Brown who chairs the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.”
Well, if Larry Brown is right, then the operators of those disposal wells are doing a great public service by triggering those small earthquakes. Because otherwise, stress in the rock formations will build until something gives way, and a much larger and more destructive quake could potentially occur. Read up on the New Madrid Earthquake of 1812. I’d much rather have a few small, non-destructive quakes every year, or even every month, than a killer-diller once a century, especially if the last Big One was 200 years ago.
And the Reuters article is flat-out wrong in stating that you cannot see fault lines in boreholes. Most of the time, you can see evidence of faulting, where present in drill cuttings, and faults will often be apparent on e-logs, too.
Bottom line: if fracing or deep well disposal of produced fluids should ever trigger a large earthquake, you can take it to the bank that an even larger earthquake would have eventually happened absent any human activity whatsoever. The energy put into the ground by fracing or pumping disposal wells is many orders of magnitude less than that released in even a moderately destructive earthquake. I’d liken it to setting off a rat trap by dropping some oil on the trigger.
Seismologists have talked of potentially averting destructive earthquakes by deliberately pumping water or frac fluids down into locked sections of known earthquake faults, to get them moving again in a series of smaller, less (or hopefully, non)destructive quakes. Needless to say, this has gotten nowhere due to liability chill. What happens if you try this, and set off a Richter 5.5 quake that does billions in damage? Fat chance convincing a jury that one was bound to happen there sooner or later if the fault remained locked. Even though it is well-understood that “quiet” places on actively-moving faults are sure to be the loci of future destructive quakes. We can predict “where” a major quake will occur with some degree of accuracy; we are a long way from being able to predict “when.”
I wonder if all of those Roman Catholic Sisters organizations listed realize they are cavorting with rabid leftists who most likely are pro-abortion. Shame on them.
Global Fracking Change
Look for a coordinated attack on development by fracking of North American energy, shale oil and gas. This is the enemy’s new strategy.
The locust army marches on. There are four stages of the locust…
gordinkneehill is a genius. If we start fracking immediately we can avoid the big earthquake that is overdue to destroy the West Coast. By fracking we could relieve stresses on the faults turning a big quake into a series of small ones. I recommend a Nobel Prize. If his advice is followed millions could be saved.
I like their picture of a cup of seltzer water with a big orange smokey fire billowing out of it.
Too bad truth doesn’t make such an dramatic picture.
