Looks like somebody can’t handle the truth. This just went up at Wind Concerns Ontario;
Due to a threat of legal action, this site will no longer be updated. For more info, please contact: wco-board@googlegroups.com .
I wonder who, but then I suspect that we all know who.
Why the threats …. where is the free speech protection in our alleged charter rights?
Who is behind the threats?
Can I make a bet? It was the Ont. gov. that made the threat? Time will tell.
We’ve [ STOP ] been going hard at the CAW in their plans to erect a wind turbine in Port Elgin contravening the GEA. Their arguement is that their application pre-dates the GEA [2009] and the newer setbacks that entails for health and safety doesn’t apply to them. Needless to say the town is apoplectic and demonstrations, flyers, banners around town are ongoing. Some of what we’ve done can be seen at the Wind Concerns site.
Remember that the CAW is applying for the FIT program and will be receiving taxpayer money on an ongoing basis from their power generation. I won’t say here that this is the CAW threating legal action, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Not a shred of doubt about who can’t handle the truth in Ontario.
McGuinty and the people who elected him to a third majority, when he lied his way to the previous majorities, obviously don’t consider the truth to be important.
Now that the fit has hit the windshan it is probably a good thing the Ontario Tories did not win the last election.
I can imagine all the blame being placed on the Tories, who would have been in power for half a year, by the lame stream media.
Let me think; I guess it would be something like,”The Neocons have only been in power half a year and the whole green programme has been destroyed”.

I look at the positive side. When all these wind farms corrode down from lack of use. At least the soil will have plenty of nutrients for re-farming the land.
I love watching these turbines tear themselves apart when the wind gets past 5 or 6 MPH.

I can say there are ongoing personalities and issues within the anti-turbine movement. That is not a surprise in any true grass roots organization. The folks in rural Ontario are not professional activists funded by Big Oil or NGOs. Just volunteers learning as we go. But McGuinty and the wind lobby would love to exploit this opportunity. They will regret their misunderstanding.
As Kate can attest, maintaining a web site can be quite a chore, and volunteers get more than tired.

Soooooooo…the original site was shut down because of threatening lawsuit,then was down for “re-tooling” with an alternative website available. Why didn’t the webmaster just say “sorry,we are upgrading this website,and until complete,you can find us here…? Not to be mean/nasty, but are these guys following “How to lose it” Hudak’s way???

My contacts within the OPP are unaware of such policy and they, having heard of this, suspect it is certain politicized members acting without direction or authority or that authority is off-record….
I has been my practice and experience that when dealing with Police, especially when they are not coming to your assistance, to very openly record badge #’s and see ID….it has a very civilizing effect on their conduct…
