Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Great gig and lots of prestige too!
Be sure to negotiate a ‘danger pay’ clause.
Should be able to dodge bombs and flying shrapnel.
Must be able to yell at the top of your lungs:
“ALLES RAUS, INCOMING!”
Cheers

The Mossad. You gotta love em.
On Monday, Dan Meridor. the Israeli Intelligence Minister, said: “There are countries who impose economic sanctions and there are countries who act in other ways in dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat.” /// zing!!!
I suppose when a few supertankers sink in the Straits of Hormuz it will also be the hand of God…
So stuff is blowing up in Iran, and nobody is saying anything. Yet even while -somebody- is systematically fragging Iran’s nuclear missile capability, Barry is still allowing Iran to do its banking in the USA?
What, is he on the take to these guys?
Jewish lightning, love it.
“…the Chinese and Russians are protecting Iran…
And that, folks, is where the sanctions/boycotts should be.
‘bama is in hock to the Chinese – so he’s not likely to take then on. But there’s nothing holding back the North American consumer…well, nothing valid, that is.
I have talked to a few Persian students in Canada, and they very much do not want to be in Iran right now.
The ones I have spoken to are not supporters of the regime and are not radical Muslims.
They also have or are developing skills which would be very useful in the Iranian weapons programs.
A Stalin would never have let them leave; a Stalin would have compelled them to work on weapons. He would have sequestered them far from the reach of Israeli agents.
Ahmadinejad and Ali Khamenei are loathsome but fortunately for us they do not have the ruthless totalitarian competence of Stalin.
Love the headline. And the non-denial.
That’s how you say “Git-er-done” in Hebrew my friends!
you know Iberia .those bunkerbusters can get to your moms’s basement.
So just what is Iberia saying, that he would prefer to have Iran armed with nuclear weapons? Is this the typical thinking of the Left these days? It’s been evident for 10 years that this was the direction in which Iran was heading and that sanctions were having no effect in slowing it up.
This won’t be the first strategic weapons program the Israelis have put an end to, it will be the third. They destroyed Iraq’s principal materials production reactor in the 1980s, and Mossad put a stop to East German scientists building a strategic long range missile system in the 1960s.
The Left may sneer, but always it’s Israel that has to do the tough jobs that others won’t, usually because of cowardice.
John Lewis- Your first mistake; believing anything out of an Iranian’s mouth. Your second mistake; believing anything out of an Iranian’s mouth. I’ve never met a persian who wasn’t a pathological liar. They’re here for a subsidized education, so they can go home and turn our technologies against us.
What I’m saying is that it’s foolish to think that Iran cannot or will not respond to these little events.
It’s also foolish to think that the Russians and Chinese aren’t paying attention.
Iberia – its also foolish to believe that Iran is playing in a league they can actually compete in.
Shoud push come to shove – Iran gets its ass kicked but good.
Maybe you should plan a vacation to that country so you can see the fireworks up close and personal.
How about a caption contest for the photo in link #1 ???
I’ll start with this:
“Damn, no spaces big enough for even a small ayatollah.”
BTW Iberia – I don’t know where you live or what your roots and political influences are but it seems to me that you would be a whole lot happier living within the boundaries and influences of such places as Iran, Russia or China.
Bye Bye now.
Oh yeah, Iran will get it’s ass kick good. Um, let’s see: population of Iraq = 32 million; population of Afghanistan = 32 million; population of Iran = 76 million. Yep, mission accomplished!!
Has anyone seen Alex around? I kinda miss the little scamp…
O wait, nevermind.
“Iraq = 32 million; population of Afghanistan = 32 million; population of Iran = 76 million. Yep, mission accomplished”
Let’s see – NATO 600 million all out of the stone age.
cgh @ 11:01, exactly.
Ziva David says it was not her that did this.
Gerald Bull, a Canadian engineer, was working on long-range artillery for Iraq. He ignored the warnings and Mossad took care of business.
I don’t understand Iran. I’ve met many Iranians over the years and they are surprisingly normal compared to the crazies running the country. I have met many Arabs and do understand why they have their leadership.
I suppose when a few supertankers sink in the Straits of Hormuz it will also be the hand of God…
Yes Comrade Lavrenti, that would be bad. But not nearly as bad as nuclear bombs going off. And it would severely cut the income of the Islamic Republic.
Other than in your Armaggedon fantasies, there will be no nuclear bombs going off.

Yea Mossad made sure of that.
I worked with an engineer overseas.
He said he trained to work in the nuclear energy industry but got out because of the politics.
When I brought up Iran and their efforts he just laughed and said that the way they were doing it, the problem would eventualy take care of itself.
kinda makes me wonder?
orvict
Yeah that was what I thought. Arab’s have an institutional problem with pre-mature detonations.
I would not be surprised Iran’s first test(unplaned) will wipe Isfahan from the map…….
I am sure that Iran can sink a supertanker or two. I am also sure that they can’t keep their navy for more than a couple days after they do it.
All the more reason though that we should build the damn pipeline.
tim in Vermont, right on both counts.
That is Hebrew for: “That sure is a nice civilian nuclear facility you have there Mr. Ahmadinejad. It would be a shame if anything happened to it.”
@Ibera…if tankers do indeed sink in the Gulf of Hormuz…that just adds to the bottom line for Canadian oil companies and increases the jobs for Canadians…I don’t have a problem with the US and the rest of world switching to the ethical oil from Canada and slowly squeezing out the rabid Islamofascist countries.
Perhaps if we start exporting oil via oil tankers, the Government will give the RCN a real job of escorting them to their ports in Europe and Asia in order to protect them from real-life threats instead of sending our navy on NATO excercises where they pretend to stop the notional bad guys from trying to sink a US carrier.

Iram is not like it’s Arabic neighbours. Sadly, wha t they do have in common is Islam and Islamic rule.
Check out the website of this incredible Iranian architect: http://www.sahbaarchitect.com/
I had the distinct pleasure of renting a home to Mr. Sahba and his beautiful daughter when they moved from Toronto to the west coast. As a Persian, he is one of the most thoughtful, urbane and sophisticated people I have met.
But then he’s a Baha’i and not a Muslim. Sadly, he is unable to return to his homeland because of his religion.
