Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Maybe they were using cribsheets for the English lyrics; I’ve done it for the French ones!
Bet the know the lyrics to The International.
Sorry Max, but I don’t know the french words, so I just sing all the way through in English. I don’t need a cheat sheet to do that.
Unlike Lisa, I have no problem at all believing that sight unseen…the important thing is what Bob Rae thinks of this all…
NDPee: Its not just that they’re commies, they’re -stupid- commies.
Quebec: the province too stuck-up to learn from Ontario’s mistakes.
Why should they know the lyrics to the national anthem? It’s not like they have any love for the country.
‘Tis the natural result of the pro-Parti Quebecois unions being in charge of the Quebec education system since 1976.
Just call them the NDPQ. Because that’s basically what they have morphed into…
The NDP have no Country, just a Global hut to plot in.
Not surprised that they don’t know the words.
Not surprised that that La Phlegm is surprised.
She and the CTV gang were convinced that the Dippers were real Canadians.
Can you imagine their shock and confusion when they were informed that would henceforth be called Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition. Bet they assumed that meant ‘opposed to loyalty to the Queen.’
And the effort to bring back their Liberal party is in full swing… I wonder how the Dippers will enjoy the constant media rundown that the Cons have faced.
The epilogues and whimsical coverage of Ignatieff, the epitaphs for the LIberal party, and the constant pumping up of BoobRae is getting tiresome.

Care to bet how long it is before they have Builder Bob on to comment..? We could have a pool…
On the plus side we have spectacle of politically craven separatists who are prepared to sing the Canadian anthem.
How do we know they weren’t just looking down at nude pictures of Jack! ?
If they really believed in being Canadians, they could sing it in French, But,being mostly separatistes or fly-ins, they probably don’t know the French words to O Canada either. Alternatively, if they have ever studied these words, they probably feel a little queasy about singing that they know how to carry the Sword and the Cross. Perhaps if the words were changed to “drapeau blanche” and “croissant”?
Here’s the vid
Has everyone discounted the obvious? That the NDP are, in general, simply too stupid to memorize a few lines.
I don’t blame the NDP’s for doing this, they could easily start singing Aegukka if it weren’t cheat sheets.
@ Syncrodox:
I wonder how many Canadians share the same reverence and fascination with BoobRae that the MSM seems to have?
He’s well remembered here in Ontario, and by that I mean even amongst Dippers he’s infamous…
langmann, outside of certain circles…eight or nine?
Maybe they can practice it in the bank line-up while waiting to cash their paychecks…

Is that what’s happening!? Okay, I made a mental note.
Pat Martin could only remember the words that had 4 letters in them.
That’s how they got their degrees in social observation first place. Don’t expect so much.
Yes, Black Mamba; Mr Rae was in Halifax yesterday. guest of his supporters in the Political Studies department of MSVU. Not sure if the the local media covered it.
Mr Rae is well connected by family and school ties to the Toronto media elite.
The NDP are a flash in the pan.
Jack Layton caught a lucky wave. Now he’s gone and the fad will fade pretty quickly.
The Liberals will be back to opposition in the next election and the NDP will be back to their standard 30-40 seats.
Once the public sees how these rookie NDP MPs perform, they’ll have a quick case of buyer’s remorse.
Now Ms. LaFlamme, Saint Jack of Brothel House told us on his deathbed that:
“Hope is better than the fear that you’ve forgotten the words to Canada’s national anthem.”
And remember: the fear won’t go down unless you touch it.
MaxEd at November 23, 2011 7:29 PM:
“Maybe they were using cribsheets for the English lyrics; I’ve done it for the French ones!”
Actually the cribsheets were in French, which is why I think Lisa LaFlamme was astonished and made it a CTV news item last night: French-speaking NDP MP’s who didn’t know the anthem in French!
Yep, our sovereign Canadian future is in good hands if we elect the NDP — at least they know the Communist “Internationale” by heart.
Every time I clear my throat, I think of Lisa La Phlegm.
In fairness, and awful lot of them are Quebecois. Who would expect the Quebecois to know the national Anthem (even though it was a Quebecker patriot who wrote it)?
So, Ms Turmel was over heard telling her young Quebec caucus that “The Canadian national anthem is O Canada, not kumbaya”.
I wonder if any of the Seperatists in Sheeple’s clothing boycotted the singing.
