  1. Check out the interview by Larry Elder (theblaze.com) of Chris Matthews. It is a thing of beauty – may even send a tingle down your leg. A very definite UP-TWINKLE!

  2. “Inasmuch as the Democrats’ only argument for the big-eared beanpole who’s nearly wrecked the country is that you must be a racist if you oppose Obama, one assumes a lot of attention will be lavished on the Mormon Church’s historical position on blacks. Church founder Joseph Smith said blacks had the curse of Cain on them and banned blacks from the priesthood, a directive that was not revoked until 1978.”
Ann uses this as a throwaway – don’t worry about it – but this will be precisely the assault the media will use.
Why does Coulter think that somehow the electorate will see through the smoke and mirrors of the Dems this time round, and that the above attack will not be politacally fatal to Romney?
The media is keeping their powder dry on Romney because they know that America is disinclined to vote for a Mormon. The media will need to expend little effort to defeat him due to that – once he is candidate- as his religion is a handicap. That is why they want him.
He will be an easy beat. They won’t have to go full Palin on him and as such look like the assasins they are.
Coulter and many other key right wing commentators have been unwilling to get into a bloody battle with Obama and the Dems because they feel it will play into the Dems hands – so like it or not the Dems continue to control the narrative as a result.
Dems have no such fear and that is why the Repubs need a candidate who has the capability to get dirty. (far easier to get dirty if you already have a bit on you) Romney is not that guy.
    Newt is.
I really don’t care what Newt might have done before he was President (should he get there) for it won’t be anything worse than Clinton did in office or that any Dem candidate in recent years did during the primarys (which the media dutifully buried or justified)
What I care about is a guy that can beat the Dems and the media at their own game, no holes barred, and appear statesmanlike while doing so.
Newt is the only candidate that fits that bill in my opinion.
History will judge the President who can restore Amercia to her former glory as one of the greatest ever. This is not lost on Gingrich. Of all the candidates I think Newt is most inspired by this potential.

  3. @ward… methinks you look thru rose coloured glasses, Newt is not the man to restore America.
My God man he has been photographed smilin and wavin with cruella pelosi.
    nuff said

  4. #1 She’s wrong; and
#2 If she’s right, it’s time to go to war ’cause there’ll be no republic to save if Mittens is the best answer to Obama.

  5. Does anyone really think a RINO will get rid of Obamacare?
These people who call themselves Conservative like Toronto’s Mayor, ALWAYS turn out to be red as a tomato.

  6. Just like in Canada, where health care is a provincial jurisdiction —in the US, health care is a responsibility of the states.
I’m unsure why this is a hard concept to understand.
If Obama would like a national program, why not just let private insurance companies operate nationally.
Right now, private insurers have to set up 50 regional offices.
If regulators allowed private insurers to have one national office, I’d bet they could compete quite well against Obamacare.
And that, Rev, is why Romney can promise to kill Obamacare.

  7. @9:35 – what do you think, Davenport? I assume you want Barry back, but you know we don’t, so what do you make of our discussion? What do you make of the GOP lineup so far?
(I repeat, whatever you think of Davenport, she’s not a troll. Dissent does not = troll. Alex, now he’s a troll, the poor confused little bugger.

  8. Sorry, no way. The only difference between Romney & Obama is that Romney is 1/2 less black. He is a bigger danger – Congress will at least oppose Obama, they’ll fall in line and rubber stamp Romney. Hell no!

  9. Frankly, folks, I’m really scared. The left is in resurgency, not ashamed decline as we of SDA thinking expect that they should. What is happening in Greece and the Eurozone; in the USA’s $15 trillion debt; in the (what we think of as ridiculous) Occupy “movement” there and in Canada is not resonating with the masses — the voting public. Did not Ontario return McGinty’s tax and spend Liberals? On Saturday, did not Vancouverites return Mayor Gregor Robertson? Face it, folks: Reason is not prevailing anywhere. Be afraid, my friends. Be very afraid.
