  7. In all reality does anyone Really care about the OWS except as a source of humour? I know I certainly don’t. If some smelly hippy wants to camp out all winter in downtown Edmonton then have at ‘er. Fill your boots. Freeze your hoo hoo and I still don’t care. I don’t care if you owe half a million in student loans. I don’t care if you can’t find a job. I don’t care if you hate the banks. I just don’t care. You are as significant in my life as the bug that doesn’t have the guts to splatter on my windshield again.

    If you want more boffo laffs, check out the official Occupy Vancouver website. If you click on their “List of Demands Working Group” link, accessed from this page, and try to open their “WORKING DRAFT – LIST OF DEMANDS” you get this:
    “The requested topic does not exist.” – so they haven’t yet worked out why they’re doing this it would seem.
    …but if you click the other link on the “List Of Demands Working Group” dropdown menu, you get to read a PDF that is revealingly illiterate and full of the cutest, most chuckle-inducing tidbits, e.g.

    where the money is or how much money there is.”

    Imagine that: suspend the good time at the party long enough to actually suggest a solution! Good luck with that, pond scum. I’ll be keeping a copy of this PDF in case the idiots figure out it’s being read by people not in the Hive, if anyone wants a copy.

  10. Well, the politicians won`t do anything about this abuse of public space; the police won`t do anything. So the law abiding citizens are stuck with dealing with it again. This hippy jerk was unlucky enough to accost a citizen who was willing to deal with it. And lucky enough that the citizen only had pepper spray.

  12. Sometimes people just have to act, rather than put up with crap from protesters. A personal story here about my involvement with a hippy protest. Years ago I lived in Ottawa and there was an “auto free Ottawa” protest going on. They did this in the downtown core most weekends. They would block a major intersection with there bikes and slowly let people through and tie up traffic right across the city. They had me stuck for half an hour before I got to the intersection. When I got there I had words with one of the protesters to the effect of “get out of my way”. The smelly hippy put his bike across the rad in front of my car. I drove my car over it and destroyed it, then all the cars behind me did exactly the same thing. The police who were there did nothing. I even (anonymously) made the evening news.
    My point is that just because the authorities put up with their crap doesn’t mean the rest of us have to. If they are disturbing your life, don’t humour them.

They keep clearing out the chat line for racist, political, religious, sexist and other ‘unacceptable’ infractions. 🙂

  16. Even if it’s not a true story, it’s still enjoyable to read. He probably didn’t have the 10% stuff I carry in my truck. The grizzly-strength stuff isn’t all that common, except in bear country. This stuff is like biting into a jalapeno, while the dog strength stuff is more like a banana pepper.

  20. Would have loved to have seen that incident. What we need are more people who are willing to actually do something about these statist scum. Given the appalling sanitary conditions existing in these improvised city campsites, I’m surprised that no medical health officer has ordered them shut down as a public health menace. I’m sure that the Vancouver OWS loons are all infested with bedbugs and it won’t be long before long forgotten diseases start to surface in this population who hasn’t a clue about the rudiments of sanitation.
    Here in BC bear spray is readily available and I have the grizzly size canister ready for use if needed. Maybe some good samaritans could provide some aerosolized capsicum to provide facial warmth on cold winter evenings in one of the OWS hovels. On the bright side, maybe the bedbug infestation that will spread from such encampments will lead to the reintroduction of DDT.

    Re: pepper spray / bear spray. Wasp spray is more effective. The best stuff is CRC Wasp & Hornet Killer Plus. Shoots a stream about 15 feet. No permanent damage but will incapacitate. Legal to carry everywhere.
