Lies, Damned Lies, And Michael Bryant

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Michael Bryant, attorney-general of Ontario (2003-2007);

Suicides. Suicides dropped dramatically in Canada thanks to the federal gun registry. Not only do statistics prove as much, it stands to reason that with improved gun safety comes decreased gun fatalities; with fewer tools-of-choice for suicides available, fewer suicides occur. It just makes sense.

Statistics Canada; (LGR became mandatory in ’03).

Related Michael Bryant statistic: Since the pit bull ban was enacted in 2005, pit bulls have killed fewer Ontarians than former attorney general Michael Bryant.

  1. Those are relatively small numbers when you consider that there are 7000,000,000 of us on the planet.
    Besides, can you some blame people for not wanting to stay on this messed up planet …. ?
    And surely they have a ‘human right’ to off themselves if they want to.

  2. Time to update the old standard bumper sticker:
    “My guns have killed less people than Michael Bryant’s car!”
    Used to refer to Ted Kennedy, but this is actually better. Say what you want about The Swimmer, Mary Jo’s death was (mostly) an accident. Bryant by contrast used his car on a cyclist and killed the guy on purpose.

  3. “My guns have killed less people than Michael Bryant’s car!”
    How true. When you are one of the Liberal elites, you don’t go to jail for killing one of the little people. Instead you can dedicate your time to disarming them, again for your own benefit.

  4. Holy Mackerel! Talk about a dressin’ down!
    Kind of like gettin’ a tuneup about the sanctity of life from Clifford Olson, isn’t it?
