An attempt at Satire or not (and I think not), a child this age should have been taught to speak respectfully to adults, and this one most certainly has not. I’d say she’s already been indoctrinated enough that the attitude is her own, even if the questions have been given to her.
I think it was far too “cute” to be real and the whole thing is phoney.
BTW in Mexico we still use “pequenito[a] as an affectionate term for toddlers.
CRB writes, “That was plain and simply hilarious! Serious? Not too likely given it was produced by Breitbart.
“Quit your damn whining!”
OK, CRB, quit being an idiot. “. . . produced by Breitbart”? You jest. He simply copied the video and presented it at his site.
And, Jan in Alberta, could you, perhaps, put your “caricature of the original messenger [,] thereby removing the potential inflammatory intent of the message” message in plain English? Thanks.
Jan in Alberta >
“You see into this what you want to see”.
Exactly.
And that is the problem with society today, most everyone allows our society and culture to be trampled on because they prefer to see the world with blinders on.
You see into this what you want to see.
I see a little girl…
~Jan in Alberta
Forget the little girl. All you see, Jan, is the little girl and it blinds you to what is there, even to the point of projecting your own blindness upon others.
Think about the words, the message.
She’s just the wrapper the message is delivered in.
See instead, in your mind’s eye, a 6.5 ft. 290lb. Black man named Cleavis Purcel and then give him the same lines to deliver to those men in suits.
Think about the words this person is delivering to strangers.
What gives Cleavis the right to ask such questions which are based on such false insulting underlying assumptions about individual people he has never met before and does not know?
It isn’t satire.
Did you know that the Communist Khmer Rouge used sweet little brainwashed girls just like this one to deliver death to 2 million people in Cambodia from 1975-1979?
Fred @ 2:11pm, Dick @ 5:59pm, btab@6:12pm and Oz @ 6:12pm…
Kindly correct me if I’m wrong; I read a series of books (historical fiction) a number of years ago and the “P” word described the offspring of white plantation owners and a ‘resident’ negro woman.
Here’s the thread from my good book (Webster’s Unabridged) and this, at least, holds to the definitions I read.
Yes, it is spelled a number of ways (with 2 “C’s” and with a “K”). Piccaninny: “A young child of Negro or of Negroid parentage”. Negroid: “Having characteristics of the Negro…ulotrichous…adj” (I had to look up this word)…”belonging to a group of people having woolly or crisply, curly hair”.
Exploitation…yes. Satire…no. Sad…yes.
“Who’s the person behind the camera?” Probably one of her idiot parents who thought it would be funny. (funny, through a child, does not = satire).
But she is certainly a precocious child who doesn’t have a clue as to the situation that some adult placed her in.
I think it highly unlikely that the young lady understands the entirety of the leftist viewpoint that she is propagating through her questions. So I would not criticize her specifically. If the video is meant to be serious, then yes, someone is exploiting her.
Great dresser, great delivery and great personality.
Bet she has already turned down offers of her own show on icky MSLSD.
You Go Girl! Get a gig on Fox as one of the fill ins for Bill O’Reilly and the

Like Ive said before child abuse is now rampant & an excepted behavior if the left does it.
This kid doesn’t even understand what shes saying.
Shame on her parents.
Would that one of those white men had corrected the pronunciation of this little black girl.
“Before I answer your question, the word is ‘ask’ not ‘aks. Say it with me now, ‘a-a-s-s-K-K.'”
You folks that think that its innocent fun should watch it again as she wipes her nose, then tells them to wipe the blood off of their hands. Then the place where she responds to someone with a slur.Put a AK47 in her hands, as they did in many countries, and the fun would stop real quick.Countries that were self supporting and now cant feed themselves. The sad thing is that its young women like her that suffer first in a revolution.Freedom fighters need release.
Many meaningful comments above.
I don’t think it’s satire either.
re. Me @4:40 – I just re-read that. Sorry for sounding so prissy. I swear, I think reading left-wing blogs has embedded those smug speech patterns in my subconscious. I still say it’s satire though. It seems to be this – a show that’s been off the air since 2006 (which leads me to conclude that this bit has nothing to do with OWS). Scroll down to “recurring segments”: It’s the first one, “beat kids”. (Surprisingly high-profile cast for the adults.)
Surprisingly high-profile cameos, I should say.
Despicable that some adult has poisoned her mind so.
That adult should be charged witth child abuse at the least.
This is why they want control of all the children.
So nice to get through to people.
Look, here’s another one.
The whole concept strikes me as distasteful and annoying; but the above video is not an example of some little kid being put up to making propaganda for OWS by her parents.
With due respect, Black Mamba, no one mentioned OWS, though this sassy missie was at Wall Street.
The overt racism/sexism of this little escapade, where a child is the exploited puppet of some sicko adults, is a total disgrace for many reasons, under any circumstances.
PC double standards are despicable.
But it is a (poorly executed) attempt at satire. (I found it funnier when I thought someone was mocking the incoherence of the lefty demonstrators. As it is, it’s clearly just unfunny random absurdism from half-a-decade back.)
And with all respect I don’t get the “racism/sexism” angle. So the little girl’s black. That doesn’t mean any interaction she has with whites is automatically loaded with racial significance (or men with sexist significance because she’s a girl).
I agree that it’s a slightly icky way to be using a kid.
Black Mamba: ” … I don’t get the “racism/sexism” angle.”
This little firecracker didn’t ask any of her insidious questions of one black person (racist overtones), male or female, or one woman (sexist overtones, certainly no equality here).
She asked only white men about their being exploiters and accused only white men of having blood on their hands.
Turn the situation around: a little white boy asking only women, “who have you exploited today?” and handing them a soiled Kleenex with the suggestion that they should wipe the blood off their hands.
I can hear the feminazis going berserk. And, I could almost sympathize with them.
I left something out!
What if the hypothetical white boy asked only black women if they were exploiters and suggested to them that they wipe the blood off their hands?
I suspect many people would accuse him — or those who put him up to it — of sexism and racism.
Black Mamba
I posted here yesterday, essentially the same info as you did at 1:13 along with a link to the Urban Dictionary definition of Wonder Showzen. Sadly it was caught in the spam filter.
I agree it’s a crude attempt at satire with an apparent subversive tinge. How subversive would depend on the intent of those who wrote the Beat Kidz segments.
As an aside, I asked my sons (avid South Park, Family Guy and Robot Chicken fans) if they were familiar with Wonder Showzen ( 26, 21 and 19 yrs old) and none of them had heard of it let alone watched.
Not surprising it lasted only two seasons on MTV.
batb
With all due respect, I believe the intent of Beat Kidz and Wonder Showzen as a whole is/was to be offensive, crude, shocking, sarcastic, gonzo satire.
I also admit that I’m not clear if the above clip is from the original 2005-2006 series or if the schtick was recently ressurected. That would make a difference regarding further intent.
syncro – no, I’d certainly never heard of it either, and I’m the epitome of cool.
Natch mamba, the cool that is..;-)
I haven’t done the research you have, Black Mamba; it’s true that context does make a difference.
But, on the face of it, being offensive, obnoxious, crude, and shocking while targeting only white males as the butt of your joke does seem a tad sexist and racist, especially given that the joker is black.
Again, if you turned the tables, there’d certainly be accusations of sexism and racism which I’d be hard-pressed to deny.
batb – well, maybe (although the guy at 2:18 does look kind of… Iranian, or something).
Wow. What a bunch of racist redneck goofs. You guys honestly can’t hear from a Black person without instantly bringing their race into it, can you?
“She asked only white men about their being exploiters and accused only white men of having blood on their hands.”
Er… maybe because most of the people on Wall Street are White men? Do you suppose that has something to do with it?
It’s hilarious how you guys think you’re not politically correct, when in fact you’re more touchy than the most radical feminists.
I’m not exactly keen on using kids for this sort of thing, but here’s the thing… chances are a good many of those guys she spoke who said they hadn’t exploited anyone yet today, are involved in businesses that use child labour, so boo fuggin’ hoo. They just got asked a tough question by a little kid. They’ll probably be just fine after they go cry themselves to sleep on a pile of hookers.
John at October 25, 2011 12:38 AM
..douche’…
Yeah, I’m the douche for standing up for a little Black kid to a bunch of guys throwing out racist comments.
I think this little black kid is perfectly capable of standing up for herself, seeing as she delivered a few very well-aimed verbal kicks to the groins of the grown ups.
She hardly needs a knight in shining armour to come to her defense.
And, I repeat: It’s her salvos that are racist.
In context: Black female kid targets only white males with incendiary questions and remarks. If the tables were turned and it was a white male kid targeting only black women with incendiary questions and remarks, people would be screaming bloody murder.
‘Just saying.
batb,
Right, the 9 year old is the racist, NOT somebody like you who called her a piccaninny, WHICH is in fact a very, very racist term. Seriously, are you on crack?
Now about those poor, poor, rich white guys. They’re the victims here. This little girl who was picking on them should be held accountable. Do you actually hear what you’re saying? That rich white guys are the victims of a child who called them to account?
Again, chances are, somewhere down the supply chain of any of the businesses they represent, somebody was being exploited, and chances are, they were kids, so hey… this kid isn’t exactly far off of the mark.
Seriously, about that crack… where to you get it, because you’re getting the good stuff? Maybe lay off it a bit to clear your head.
You are a joke of a human being.
John >
You’re a racist.
“Er… maybe because most of the people on Wall Street are White men?”
What kind of crap is that? Wall Street is indeed a part of white culture the “trading markets” as they exist we’re formed within European white culture, but it does not exclude black people from participating in that community.
Many black people work on Wall Street, but they weren’t the target of the racism in this video.
John: Chill out, dude.
“This little girl who was picking on them should be held accountable.”
No. The adults who put her up to this crap should be. Calling her a piccaninny — boo hoo — is on a par with her — or the idiots who put her up to this, hiding behind a kid’s skirts, now that’s despicable — accusing all white men on Wall Street of being exploiters and having blood on their hands.
Hey, what’s good for the goose has gotta be good for the gander, no?
Riiiight. I’m the racist here. Is this backwards day?
My point re White guys on Wall street…. maybe they just didn’t see anyone else, but you assumed that they were just picking on Whites. (Playing the ol’ politically correct victim card)
And no, babt, using a racist term is never okay. It’s racist, and stupid.
I now leave you guys to go on picking on a little girl.
Brave.
John probably doesn’t even know who Thomas Sowell is. There’s a picture of him, along with the column. Read it, John. It’s about reverse discrimination—just what this little girl’s handlers are up to. That’s the point, you ninny.
Yeah, and I guess, John, that this “little girl’s” handlers — I can’t imagine that they’re white — aren’t in the least racist.
Give it up. And read Thomas Sowell. You might learn something.
Just because she only spoke to White men doesn’t mean she was targeting Whites. That’s the assumption you are making, and this sort of goofiness is the very heart of the political correctness movement that you guys supposedly rail against.
To sum up… the comments here are racists because they mock her language for being somehow of less value, and worse, for using a very clearly racist term to describe her.
I can understand why you’re upset and confused. You’ve just been punked by a little girl, and now you want to gang up on her. Naturally, as adult males you probably have a kneejerk desire to kick your own sorry asses, but you can’t, so instead you run around whinning about how a little Black girl is picking on White men.
