  19. @mid island mike: just be thankful there isn’t a tearful editorial about Olson-as-victim, and the utter horror that there could be anyone – especially Canadians! – who would celebrate the death of the poor man.

  21. A man just died folks. What is with the readers here at SDA and all these nasty comments? No matter what your political stripes or your beliefs, you should not wish ill of the dead.
    First it was your comments about Jack Layton that actually caused that thread to be shut down, now here you start on Clifford Olson – you folks have no heart when it comes to the dead. He may have been a bastard but he was still a human you heartless souls.

  26. So far, john wins the thread. TJ has to be messing with us. (“Human”? I’m hardly sure. If I were religious I’d put him down to demonic possession. I’m quite serious; serial killers are the most convincing argument for that alleged phenomenon I know of.)
    He was evil and he’s dead. He should have been executed however many years ago. There’s no point in keeping men like him alive.

  27. I am not satisfied. Olson got off way too easily and he had way too much fun even in prison. He should have been kept in a small dark cell, no contact, no communication but to receive severe weekly beatings. The beatings could qualify as a form of human contact, to substitute as a social life. Sometimes it’s good to reach out and beat someone.

    Just trying to point out the absurdity of making subjective judgements about what to say when people pass away. I’m glad Olson is a gone, and to be honest I’m glad Layton is a gone too.
    When Mugabe goes I will literally be dancing around my backyard with champagne in hand, but I’m pretty sure the commies on the left will be weeping.

    Hope justice is getting served up now that he’s finally snuffed it, because it wasn’t while he was alive. That one should have met his maker long ago.

    This man got enjoyment from sexually molesting, torturing and killing children. How can we NOT say horrible things about him?

  36. Back when I was just a kid of 18 a good friend of mine was raped and strangled along with 6 other girls in Vancouver. Even though we know who did it the guy died in his sleep of old age years later. I hope you don’t mind TJ if I transfer some of pent up hate to Olson and enjoy the moment.
    Most people who talk about turning the other cheek have never actually been slapped hard in their life.

  40. Years ago when I lived in Ontario, and that sicko Bernardo got nabbed, a fan club of young (misguided) girls sprung up and they worshipped him. I recall too about a year ago that a certain ex-writer for the G&M was lamenting Bernardo’s “poor treatment” in prison.
    So even the biggest scumbags have their fans.
    I maintain what I said earlier, Clifford is dead good, and Layton is dead, good. Each thrust their own form of despicable ideology on society.

  41. I will never get how he was able to mind control everybody to always get them to talk and think about him. He thrived on attention, and pushing people’s buttons; the past few months must have been heaven for him.

  43. If it were not for the pinkos in this world, Olson would have been put to death. Think of the enormous money that would have saved society? But because of evil men like Trudeau and all those creeps that still worship his ideas, we have to foot the immense bill to keep pure scum alive until they die of natural causes.

A ‘human monster’ is dead and it is not hard to feel a sense of satisfaction that at least this monster will never threaten another human life or bring additional pain to the families of his victims. The question we need to ask ourselves and our government is how do we make sure these kinds of animals are locked up early and for the rest of their lives.

    Try to keep some perspective here.

  47. Someone I know began to cry when he heard about Olson’s death. He was really really really hoping that Olson lingered and suffered horrific pain for a very very very long time.

    I disagree. People like Layton want to keep people like Olson alive. That is what is despicable. I prefer that people like Olson are put to death. He should have been executed long ago. Instead I, you and every other taxpayer had to pay to keep the bastard scum alive.

    Here in Rural Ontariario, we customarily stop for a funeral cortege and remove our hat until it passes…..
    It’s simple basic respect….
    However, the likes of Olsen deserve no respect even in death….they have resigned their membership in the human race and are merely dangerous preditors.
    I would moon his funeral cortage….
    To err is to be human and to forgive is to be divine.
    I am not divine and very human….
