Cherokee Indians: We are free to oust blacks
The dispute stems from the fact that some wealthy Cherokee owned black slaves who worked on their plantations in the South. By the 1830s, most of the tribe was forced to relocate to present-day Oklahoma, and many took their slaves with them. The so-called Freedmen are descendants of those slaves.
After the Civil War, in which the Cherokee fought for the South, a treaty was signed in 1866 guaranteeing tribal citizenship for the freed slaves.

  2. re. Rev. – I remember watching a show where Oprah and Barry’s pal “Skip” Gates were having DNA tests run on various black celebrities. Don Cheadle – a very good actor, he starred in Hotel Rwanda – found out that he was descended from these Cherokee slaves. He looked absolutely heartbroken. This sort of thing just does not fit the narrative.

  3. well…that’s it then, we’re doomed….
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A San Fernando Valley adult entertainment studio began construction this month on what it calls a “post-apocalyptic” underground bunker in anticipation of a global catastrophe rumored to take place in late 2012.
A spokesman for Van Nuys-based Pink Visual said the bunker will be “far more than a mere bomb shelter or subterranean survivalist enclave” with amenities such as multiple fully-stocked bars, an enormous performing stage and a sophisticated content production studio.
“Our goal is nothing less than to survive the apocalypse to come in comfort and luxury,” said Pink Visual spokesman Quentin Boyer, “whether that catastrophe takes the form of fireballs flung earthward by an all-seeing deity, extended torrential rainfall, Biblical rapture, an earthquake-driven mega-tsunami, radioactive flesh-eating zombies, or some combination of the above.”
The studio’s website will also be maintained and updated throughout any potential disaster “even if those websites are only available on the bunker’s self-contained local network by that time,” Boyer added.
He declined to give the exact location of the bunker over “security concerns”.
The studio is currently working out details on the selection criteria for all non-Pink Visual personnel who they will allow to take refuge in the bunker, but Boyer said it will “likely include both merit-based and random selections, with Pink Visual performers, active site members and Twitter followers getting priority over the general public.”
Although no set number was provided, LA Weekly reported anywhere from 1,200 to 1,500 people will be allowed into the bunker by its planned completion date of September 2012.
So if you want to ride out the apocalypse in decadence and luxury, follow Pink Visual on Twitter for more details.

(The Foundry) — President Obama repeatedly asked members of Congress to pass the American Jobs Act last week. But when no Democrat filed Obama’s bill after he presented it to Congress, a conservative congressman swiped the name for his own legislation.
The American Jobs Act introduced in the House of Representatives looks quite different from the version President Obama outlined in his speech to Congress. Instead of hiking taxes on working Americans to pay for another stimulus, Rep. Louie Gohmert’s (R-TX) legislation offers a tax cut.

  10. Part I: The Beginning.
    …-
“The End of the World, Part I: H. G. Wells”
The End of the World is an apocalyptic myth that first becomes prominent in religious speculation in the period of Late Antiquity. St. John’s Apocalypse, included as the last book of the New Testament, is the best-known item in the genre, with its elaborate visions of Armageddon and the Last Judgment. Persistently, however, since the French Revolution, the myth of the End of the World has secularized itself, expressing its eschatological anxiety in terms of entirely this-worldly events. In the Twentieth Century, the End of the World became a staple of “scientific romance” or science fiction, where it often concerned the perfection of destructive instrumentality. In England beginning in the 1870s, the foreign invasion story became popular. In George Tomkyns Chesney’s many times reprinted Battle of Dorking (1871), Kaiser Wilhelm I, not content with the defeat of France at Sedan, pushes on through Belgium and the Netherlands, crosses the Channel, and reduces Britain to vassalage. Sometimes the invasion involved the so-called Yellow Peril, an onslaught, in some non-specific near future, by militarized hordes of Chinese or Japanese, who overwhelm Europe.
The End of the World typically presents itself in a literalist manner, with the physical obliteration of the globe and humanity.”

The shock loss of a special election on New York’s Ninth District was especially damaging because it could be largely put down to Mr Obama’s own unpopularity.

The enthusiasm with which many of my fellow conservatives paint militant Islam as a mighty movement capable of a takeover of Europe and America is a grotesque wallow in political masochism. Islam is on the ropes of history, battered, bleeding and disfigured. And it’s never going to be a contender again. Yet, many Americans appear determined to cower in our corner of the ring. It’s baffling: We’re winning in every possible respect, but tell ourselves we’re losing.
Certainly, Islamist terrorists remain deadly. But we’re much, much deadlier. Since our national humiliation on September 11th, 2001, we’ve slaughtered terrorists by the thousands around the world, including almost all of al Qaeda’s top leaders. Muslims overwhelmingly have turned against al Qaeda, and the organization’s popularity in today’s Middle East is lower than Casey Anthony’s in Florida. Before his well-deserved death, Osama bin Laden himself had been reduced to a prematurely aged pornography hound confined to a virtual prison where he was afraid to walk around in his own courtyard.
Al Qaeda Central has been shattered. Regional franchises struggle to remain relevant amid popular revolutions that have left the terrorists behind as yesterday’s men. In Europe, teetering elites can no longer contain the people’s rage at left-wing multiculturalist farces. Here in our own country, radical Islam is little more than a last resort for losers, surviving only among prison inmates, isolated sociopaths and eroding lobbying organizations–and in mosques funded by Saudi Arabia’s degenerate royals (who are terrified that American freedoms will transform their stunted faith).

We need to stop and think. Are we really willing to live in constant fear of a pack of Islamist pederasts who haven’t even mastered indoor plumbing? Yes, there are terrorists who still want to kill us. Some may pull off occasional headline stunts. But they have lost the power to pull off another 9/11. And as tragic as that September morning ten years ago remains, it pays to remember that, even in the Year of Our Lord 2001, six times as many Americans were killed by drunken driving as perished from terrorism. If we prioritized the man-made threats to American lives today, the list would start with junk food, drunken driving, drug crime, gangs, domestic violence…with terrorism way, way down on a long, long list. We’re losing our fellow citizens to suicide due to Obama-era joblessness, bankruptcies and home foreclosures, not to Islamist terrorists.

“Canadian manufacturing sales grew twice as fast as expected in July, suggesting the economy is performing much better in the third quarter than in the second and reducing the risk of recession.
Sales jumped 2.7% in the month to $46.7 billion following three straight months of declines and beating estimates of a 1.3% gain, according to Statistics Canada data on Thursday.
Sales in constant dollars, used to calculate gross domestic product, rose 2.8% and shipments outside the auto sector were also encouraging, up 2.3%.
Canada’s oil industry was the biggest contributor to the gains as some refineries ramped up production after maintenance work, boosting sales in the petroleum and coal products industry by 6.1% in July.
Primary metals and fabricated metal products also noted hefty gains. All in all, 15 of 21 industries representing about 75% of total manufacturing reported higher sales.
New orders in July rose 1.3%, driven by the metals, machinery and energy sectors. Unfilled orders in July rose to their highest level in over two years and inventories edged 0.1% lower, the first decline since September 2010.”

On Wednesday, Jan. 26 a major snowstorm hit Washington D.C. Ten-mile homeward commutes took four hours. If there had been a million electric cars on American roads at the time, every single one of them in the DC area would have ended up stranded on the side of the road, dead. And, before they ran out of power, their drivers would have been forced to turn off the heat and the headlights in a desperate effort to eek out a few more miles of range.
