  1. For those of you who can’t get Sun TV, here’s Ezra Levant’s must-watch take on the NDP rally that masqueraded as a funeral for Jack Layton.

  2. Screw Up, Move Up, Cover Up
Why are those responsible for Fast and Furious getting new federal jobs?
There are now enough Operation Fast and Furious officials playing hide-and-seek in the Obama administration to fill a “rubber room.”
That’s the nickname for taxpayer-subsidized holding pens — such as the ones in the New York City public schools — where crooked employees are separated from the system and paid to do nothing.

  3. Is there a more dispicable, loathesome asshole (no, hold on folks, I’m not talking about phil) than this Stephen Lewis character?
Thought his dad was a bit daft, but wow!, this guy is loonie-toons! Pompous, arrogant. entitled…, an almost perfect metaphor of the current leftard frazzled, addled believers.
    Sock it to ’em Ezra!

  4. Iggy’s at it again – According to today’s N.P., Ignatieff’s facebook musings after Layton’s funeral, he asks “Sitting together in the same hall, isn’t it obvious how much we have in common?”
By “we” he means Libs and NDPers. “The words we care about – generosity, justice, hope – they care about them too….. these values are bigger than all of us, bigger than our divisions and our arguments”. And it follows, don’t you see, that those of us with a conservative bent, lack these essentials?

  5. And while he says he’s “humbler” now than he was before his world began to unravel, he’s not embarrassed by his experience in jail and wants his Canadian media critics to know they were wrong to predict he’d be unable to handle being behind bars.

  6. This attempt at humour was forwarded to me this morning by another daft family friend, with the comment “Houston we have a problem. I think this is where the Tea Party has it’s roots”. No point in watching the whole thing, but fast forward to 0:28.
(I replied that I think Barry might actually be the one who’s bad at Math, what with the debt and the federal spending and all.)

  7. An article at the American Thinker delves into the implications of bill C-51.
Scary stuff,if extrapolated to provincial residency,it may be illegal to say ‘hurtful’ things about the ‘poutine province’ but OK to bash Alberta. Well, that’s the way it is right now,but at least it’s not illegal. There’s more chill in the article.

“FULL TITLE: Living the American dream… illegally! Revealed: The comfortable suburban life of Obama’s ‘drink-driving’ Uncle Omar”
“Passing the time relaxing on the front porch of his Massachusetts home, Obama Onyango looked to neighbours as if he was living the American dream.
But the 67-year-old long lost uncle of President Barack Obama was last week arrested for drunk-driving and found to be living in the U.S. illegally.
Now, MailOnline can reveal how the man the President called ‘Uncle Omar’ had been living in a nice house, hosted popular backyard barbecues and worked at a local liquor store.
Neighbours said that Onyango’s pale yellow house in leafy Framingham, a suburb of Boston, was always bustling with people.
The illegal immigrant, who they described as ‘neighbourly’ and ‘cordial’, would spend time on his front porch, adorned with a welcome mat and flower pots, greeting neighbours.
But Onyango’s illegal residence in the U.S., since what is believed to be the 1960s, was uncovered last week when he was arrested for drunk driving.
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and held under a longstanding warrant for his deportation.
Neighbours said they had no idea that the President’s uncle was living in their neighbourhood.”

“JOHANNESBURG (AP) — South Africa’s minister of land reform says black farmers have resold nearly 30 percent of the white farmland bought for them by the government – often back to the previous white owners.
Minister Gugile Nkwinti announced the startling indicator of failure at Wednesday’s launch of a long-delayed government policy paper to revitalize plans to more equitably distribute agricultural land, redressing historical wrongs.

  11. US justice DEPT out of controll.
DOJ Advises Gibson Guitar to Export Labor to Madagascar
It seems that the Department of Justice wasn’t satisfied with merely raiding the law abiding factories of Gibson Guitar with armed agents, shutting down their operation costing them millions, and leaving the American company in the dark as to how to proceed without going out of business.
Now, according to CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, agents of the United States government are bluntly informing them that they’d be better off shipping their manufacturing labor overseas

So instead of going-up against the GOP debate with his speech on solutions to unemployment and the contracting US economy; President Obama has instead decided to go-up against the opening night NFL game between the Saints and the Packers. Hmmmm… I wonder what I’ll be watching on Thursday?
Lucky for TOTUS the game is on ESPN, and they will likely not be showing the big speech.

  13. Ahhh, admire the splendor of Big Government redistribution, victim politics and social justice in action.
The South African government has spent a fortune trying to redistribute the country’s land wealth from the white minority to the black majority. It has bought thousands of hectares of white owned farm land and either given it or sold it on to poor blacks.
Land economists say that the redistribution policy is highly inefficient as the white-owned land is often bought at above its market value by the government. After the land has been given, or sold at a discount, to the new black owner, he is able to simply then able to sell it on. This means that both farmers – black and white – are able to turn a profit from the government’s involvement…
Studies of the South African model have shown that as many as 90 per cent of the new black-run farms fail because the new owners do not have the experience of running a large enterprise. Although whites make up less than 10 per cent of South Africa’s population of 50 million, they own about 90 per cent of the country’s agricultural land.
Advocates for reform argue that this massive inequality is a direct result of the colonisation of South Africa by Europeans and the consequent forcing of indigenous people off their land.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2032588/Black-farmers-South-Africa-cash-selling-land-given-government–whites-originally-owned-farms.html
Do you ever wonder if, someday, ethnic British, French, Germans and other Europeans will be afforded the same land claims as other indigenous peoples?

  14. Ugh! Please don’t tell me this was funded by Canadian taxpayers:
Teaching peak oil to preteens -A new graphic novel series invites preteens to join Luz and her friends as they learn about and transform their fossil-fueled world
What will our cities look like from a preteen’s perspective in the not-too-distant future when peak oil pushes gas and food prices to new heights? No rides to the mall? No eating out? City-wide blackouts? Catastrophic! It was to Luz and her friends at first, but through a little bit of creativity and preteen gumption they discover the hidden potentials of an abandoned lot in their neighbourhood. Claudia Dávila’s debut graphic novel, Luz Sees the Light, sets Luz and her friends on a path to transform their fossil-fueled world…
Over the course of this novel, Luz grows from a consumer-crazy, fossil-energy intensive preteen to a young activist turning an abandoned plot of land into a sustainable green space — a transformation that is made believable by Dávila’s youthful prose and detailed illustrations.
This book is the first in a series. Subsequent books will shed light on themes such as water shortages, retooling transportation, food production and preservation, health and shelter in a post-petroleum world, and an array of step-by-step (re)skilling activities such as making compost, xeriscaping and creating a natural grey water filtration system.

  15. “Liberal Blogger Admits He Fabricated Bachmann ‘White People’ Video”
“The blogosphere has been abuzz this week with a video misleading viewers to believe that Rep. Michele Bachmann riles up a campaign crowd in Iowa with the line, “Who likes white people?”
The video was pirated from Robert Stacy McCain’s blog, the Other McCain, after he covered a Bachmann appearance at a rainy August 5th Christian music festival, during which Bachmann shouted to the drenched crowd “Who likes wet people?” She followed the question with a statement to her Christian audience on God’s power over the weather, which was cut from the edited version.
The blogger took the video from McCain, added a caption to read “Who likes white people?” and the video instantly became viral thanks to Perez Hilton, CBS News, and Wonkette.

  16. maz2 @4:59 – some of us figured they’d hate Bachmann a little less than they hate Palin. We were wrong.
The narrative is that she’s a religious fanatic wannabe theocrat and definitely a RACIST!!!. They are going to will these paranoid fabrications into being.

  17. Black Mamba @ 11:36, and to think I thought at one point during my late high school years, before most of you were born, of attending Ryerson. What a disgusting socialist rat hole that has become.
maz2 @ 11:43, it didn’t work in the land of the Soviet “joy bringers” either.

  18. Defenders of these very generous pensions always claim that these employees contribute their fair share into the pension plans, and so deserve them. As taxpayers, we would normally think a 50-50 split of contributions would be fair, with employees contributing 50% and taxpayers matching it. But over the past five years alone, taxpayers have pumped $1.3-billion into the plan, while employees have contributed only $368-million. Not so fair and sure to create serious pension tensions when taxpayers find out what is really happening in these pension Ponzi schemes.

  19. From wallyj’s American Thinker link @ 8:01 a.m.: “The Canadian Supreme Court has narrowed the application of an ‘identifiable group’ to cover only those who could be considered ‘disadvantaged.’ For the Jews and Yanks among us, this means Palestinians and Pakistanis, not Israelis or Americans.”
If this is true, it is one of the most despicable things the SCC has ever done.
