The Giffords shooting sent the media elite in this country into a bout of St. Vitus’s dance that would have warranted an army of exorcists in previous ages. Sarah Palin’s Facebook map was an evil totem that forced some guy to go on a shooting spree. The New York Times, the Washington Post, all three broadcast networks — particularly NBC whose senior foreign-affairs correspondent, Andrea Mitchell, devotes, by my rough reckoning, ten times as much air time to whining about Sarah Palin as she does about anything having to do with foreign affairs — flooded the zone with “Have you no shame” finger wagging. A memo went forth demanding that everyone at MSNBC get their dresses over their heads about the evil “tone” from the right. Media Matters went into overdrive working the interns 24/7 to “prove” that Republicans deliberately foment violence with their evil targets on their evil congressional maps.
Everyone “knew” the shooter was a tea partier. Except he wasn’t. He wasn’t even a conservative. He was a sick, demented, nutball. And it still didn’t matter! More bleating and caterwauling about the “tone” followed. More chin stroking and tut-tutting from Meet the Press roundtables and “very special segments” on the Today Show. More pizzas were ordered for the Media Matters galley slaves.
On the other hand, I thought from the Black Panthers having tea and finger sandwiches on Park Ave. to the rehabilitation of Bill Ayers, to Sen. Patty Murray’s embrace of Osama bin Laden in 2003 to Michael Moore’s declaration the following year that anti-American terrorists in Iraq were the new Minutemen, the left was all about exploring the root causes of terrorism, and seeking a common understanding to make peace and progress forward together.

The fear and loathing of the Tea Party in Canada is by the same people that feared and loathed the Reform Party – the CBC, comedians, statists on the right and statists on the left. By the way, if the US economy collapses I don’t think we have to worry about the Chinese taking over as an economic super-power because China will collapse even worse — like a house of cards. The reason is simple: China depends almost entirely on its export-oriented economy, propped up mostly by US consumption (and borrowing for consumption). Although the US would have to fight its way out of another recession, China would practically be blown back to thirty years ago — ox carts and bicycles — until the US could start buying its products again. That’s why China and Russia are upset with the US — they haven’t got enough consumers in their own economy to make it viable apart from American consumption. US failure won’t turn them into the “new economic super-powers”, it will turn them into economic backwaters again.
I am starting to think that Kelly McParland is either losing his marbles or gone over to the dark side. He seems to be pushing Keynesian economics.

The media will mindlessly parrot whatever inverted sense of morality is used in justifying the agenda of the statist looters and thugs (not Democrats alone). When “terrorism” is used to describe a grass roots influenced attempt at starting to move toward a balance budget, the inverted morality is complete. Two trillion dollars in “cuts” over ten years is the parrotted sound bite describing in reality, a “projected” reduction in normal baseline budgetted increases. There are no cuts, the world knows it, the bond rating agencies know it, the market knows it, and thanks to the media, the American public will be the last to know it, let alone understand it.
Due to the moral cowardice of those Republicans who voted for this compromise with looters, one hopes the Tea Parties become heavily involved in their renomination efforts. Even a RINO squish like Romney knew he would be eviscerated by Bachmann in the debates if he favoured this deal.
One more example of why the left fears Palin, above all others. She produces quips which have more effect on their politically fragile President than entire weeks of mainstream Republican droning.

Sarah Palin is spot on. Average Americans join or align themselves in some way with the Tea Party because it is filled with people just like them- people who have been lied to by the same people who promised to serve them. The second half of that post concerns an MSNBC piece where the Tea Party is described as being driven by “delusion and psychosis”. The Dems are losing, they know it, and they are going to label the Tea Party as insane terrorists in the media.
You may also be interested to know that the Departments of Education and Agriculture both have SWAT teams, and aren’t afraid to use them. DoAG used theirs on raw milk selling hippies today. Oh, and they miss-labeled cheese too, the bastiges.

You have a choice where your tax dollars go – you select “Separate” OR “Public” on your property tax bill. You and everyone else can allocate whatever percentage to either you wish (90%/ 10%) or (50%/50%).
