  1. Mr. Netanyahu shold trade BCs with obama and be president. the Tel aviv golf course is excellent im told and the beaches and kinishes have no paralell – Obama would be very comfortable there. As would the free world.

  2. Did anybody else notice the POTUS’s posture?
Barry was hanging on tight to the arm of his chair…for what purpose was confusing. I couldn’t figure if he was bracing to run or wanted to tear the arm off and smack Bibi in the head…then the press conference concludes and the One looks directly off stage right… with a elitist, pompous, WTF? kinda look.
That there was a snot smacking.

  3. Bibi lays it out so that even Obama should understand. The best off the cuff, face to face , rebuttal I have ever seen/heard. It is more powerful in the Utube clip than just an oral replay because you realize that he is saying this directly to power, sitting immediately beside Obama. Why does Obama not understand that this is a matter of Israel’s survival, not just some UN unenforceable vote?

  4. Wow.. just wow. Pure pwnage. Thank you Mister President, but please STFU and be realistic.
And can journalists please switch to digital already? Either that or there needs to be a default audio filter that can crop shutter noise automatically from recordings.. I can barely follow the thread without being jarred off course by staccato shutters.

  5. I watched it a second time – that was a tour d force – no repetition, no stammer and cohesive. Expressed in frank and certain terms.
    And no teleprompter…
Obama’s posture and stillness could be a tell that wasn’t listening even a little bit – just waiting for BibBi to stop talking so he could get the heck out of there.
536 days until he well and truly is…

  6. That was the de-facto leader of the free world giving a poseur to the title a lesson on how it’s done with class.

  7. Best line of the interview.. ROFL.
“It’s not gonna happen. And everyone knows it’s not gonna happen. And I think it’s time to tell the Palestinians forthrightly it’s not gonna happen.”

  8. Obamba is so overmatched, it is a wonder his handlers allowed him to even sit in the same room with a real leader and allow them to talk openly.
“Affermative Action verses Action” real time baby.

  9. The premise that Obama is some neophyte or naive, only serves to allow him to continue to advance his anti Israel anti American agenda.
He needs to be called out in no uncertain terms, and reading between the lines BiBi just did it.
I don’t expect the MSM to do it, but it would be nice if conservative commentators would not continue to pull this rope.
Obama knows precisely what he is doing when it comes to Israel. Precisely.
Just as he does with Egypt and Libya and the rest of the ME.
Just as he did with Obamacare and every other major initiative that the media has idly stood by and given him free reign on.
This was a smackdown for the ages delivered with a velvet glove, and every word of it true.
In no uncertain terms Obama advanced a plan that would result in the destruction of Israel, and that was his plan – not a naive mistake.
For Bibi to walk in and deliver this response – so assuredly and confidently and truthfully – delivers a message not just to Obama but to Israels enemies in the ME, and it was magnificent.

  10. The ball is in the court of American Jews. Let’s see who they support next year. I still naively hope for a Paul Ryan campaign.

  11. Between the comment section on the CBC poll and the one on the G and M article re: our PM not behind Obama, I thought I was reading a portion of Mein Kampf!
What clear anti-semitic vitriol. And the bashing of the PM for not following Obamas lead. Are these not the same people who accuse the PM of being to American…

  12. ward >
No one contests that there is a “strategic plan” to wipe Israel off the map. It is equally naive to believe Obamba the Holiday Kid/ Chicago Hustler is the brains behind “the plan”.
He’ not intelligent, he’s cunning. He is also narcissistic, Idealistic and most importantly bought off. His lot goes to the highest bidder, as the Wall Street bankers proved over the last few years. The game is afoot but the middle east/ Israel play is not Obambas game, it belongs to his handlers.

  13. ‘In no uncertain terms Obama advanced a plan that would result in the destruction of Israel, and that was his plan – not a naive mistake.

Well said Ward @2:26. I do agree with you, Mr. O knows exactly what he is doing. The stiff unyielding posture of Mr. O was a indication of his distaste for the brave man sitting in the chair beside him. Mr. Netanyahu has faced the ‘elephant’, he fought in the 6 Day War; the O has ‘fought’ a couple of elections; he has likely never risked a hair on his chinny chin chin for anyone, not even his own precious (in his view) hide. The contrast was painful.
We just saw a picture of courage; my admiration for the President of Israel increased…for the ‘other’ guy, it bottomed out.
We, the people of the Free World, who support the brave people of Israel and their magnificent President must voice our support independently from that of the guy in the other chair. Our Prime Minister supports Israel and has said so – we can all stand with Mr. Netanyahu and PMSH (USA and Canada); the other guy can be put out on a golf course; this is much too serious to listen or obey the likes of Mr. O. The Jewish people are in dire danger and the Free World is teetering on the edge of collapse. As Glen Beck and Lenard Cohan before him have said “It’s Closing Time”. That song is so relative to the situation that I feel compelled to leave a link:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao0BdtZr2_M
exchange two people for these two nations, in the song, and the picture screams at all of us! We cannot sit by and watch that brave soldier who has the weight of the entire nation of Israel on his shoulders almost beg for help from another nation that has promised , in the past, to always help defend Israel’s position.
Yes, I really miss ‘W’ today. Thank Heaven for PMSH. Heaven help us all.

  14. Makes you proud to be a Canadian when PM Harper stands up for Israel at every turn.

I don’t read the CBC web site, but I do read the Globe’s and participate regularly. I can’t understand how the Globe can tolerate some of the incredibly offensive and routinely outright lies that the “usual candidates” post there.
The people who are making these anti-Israel posts are the same group who continuously make anti CPC post, anti America posts and support all the leftist nuttiness that we despise. Many, not all, but many of them are “Canadian” muslims who are part of the wave of what will be an ever growing volume anti-semitic anti-Israel talk in this country, as their numbers inevitably grow. Canada brought them here, and continues to bring them under Harper’s immigration policies.
In a decade Muslims will outnumber Jews in Canada 3 or 4 to 1, and will form a substantial voting block, the way they have in every Western nation. Hell, they already do form a block. Alone in the entire democratic Western world, the only mainstream party leader that has NOT tried to curry their favour is Harper.
I hope that the next CPC leader will be the same conviction on this issue. But I worry…

  16. Mr. Netanyahu did not let Seroto know what he was about to do or there would have been not joint presser.
The two man that long ankles hates the most right now is Mr Netanyahu and Mr. Harper.
Both Men have backed him into a corner on many fronts. No there will not be 1967 borders, no there will not be a carbon tax, and no supporting crazy banking schemes.
President Obama will not recover from yesterday because it gets more difficult from here on. The U.S. is about to live out an acient prophecy.

  17. I don’t think the mannequin moved once. I think he was boiling with rage during this.

  18. A real president vs. a cardboard cut-out of a president.
Obama’s posture was appallingly arrogant and “casual” while listening to an impassioned, controlled, argument spoken with dignified gravitas by Netanyahu.
The handshake at the end? As swift as Obama could make it, not even looking at President Netanyahu, and a few seconds later, a head turn to the crew around him, “Thank you, guys.” What the …????
It was painful watching a real leader appeal to the better instincts of a faux-leader for the very survival of his nation, while the empty suit thought bubbles are saying, “Ge me outta here.” Obama has no class, no brains, and no heart. As another poster said, he’s tender for the highest bidder, whoever will keep him and his family in luxury homes and holidays, golf, and basketball.
His shallowness and hollowness were glaringly evident when contrasted with the depth of Netanyahu’s concern for his people — and his clear arguments about what the Palestinian people need to do for themselves in order for a true and lasting peace to ever become a reality. President Netanyahu eloquently spoke truth to power.
As the psalmist says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
May those who love you be secure.
May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels. Psalm 122

(There is a magnificent setting of this psalm by Herbert Howells, but I couldn’t lay my hands on a link …)

  19. Netanyahu to the Yahoo
Unlike you, Israel will not get another chance. I am a leader of a country that does not afford me the luxury of having a do over, I must fly humbly without a net. I cannot kick the can down the road. We as a country, have only been afforded one kick at the can and fortunately that kick was not squandered. Oh, and as they say here in the desert…. go pound sand.
    BB to OB

  20. Well, Mr. Netanyahu would know better than anyone who what it would take to make his country secure aginst terrorist aggression. Barry Soetoro has no f****** clue.
I love how Mr. Netanyahu had to remind Obama that HAMAS has recently attacked the USA after Osama Bin Laden was taken out. The fact that Obama had to be reminded of this alient fact is disturbing, even dangerous. Worse than a Chamberlain, Obama is starting to border on a Petain. I am starting to wonder if Barack Hussien Obama has a little Quisling in him, too.

  21. bambam ambushed Bibi and Bibi returned the favour.
The only thing that would have made that better was if Bibi gave him a big kiss at the end.

  22. Like Syncrodox and others, I was struck by Obama’s body language. This was especially noticeable at around 5:40 when Netanyahu talked about the bond between Jews and Israel. Obama seemed frozen in a painful posture than screamed disapproval.
Obama can say all he wants, I will not believe him.

  23. Americans have to grow up, and realize this is real life to a small nation, this is not American idol or Dancing with the Stars/Kardashians or the Fat Oprah show. Obongos body language shows this fool is in so far over his over inflated head, he wouldn’t bob in a salt lake. Americans that sat on their Mcdonalds asses last time and let Oprah pick this DUD for their leader, had better get out to the polls next time. Obamas new show will be Dancing with the Czars, because these are the socialists pulling this man-childs strings. All together now, God Help America land that I love to visit, can’t remember the rest.

  24. The fact is that there will never be peace on this planet as long as there is a Muslim living on it. Just like the Terminator … “Thats all they do”. The Jews are their number one target, but anyone will do … even their own there are no Jews or other infidels available.
They are violent retards and it is in their genes. We should all be rising up to contain them in their sand boxes and keep them there until they have annihilated themselves.

  25. It looked like Obummer was trying to stare Bibi down. He didn’t take his gaze off him the whole time. I think that’s voodoo thing isn’t it? I wouldn’t put anything past that creep.

  26. Translation:
President Empty Suit, I’m the PM of a country surrounded by enemies sworn to destroy it and its people. We cannot pretend that reality does not exist. You are a self-absorbed fantasist who knows how to do one thing: campaign for yourself, always at someone else’s expense. Your reckless speech, like all your speeches, was an exercise in self-aggrandizement. But its immediate purpose was to encourage your allies in Hamas and Hezbollah to believe that, on your watch, they have a shot at inflicting real harm to my country. Unfortunately for me and my people, our enemies may take you seriously, and we may suffer the consequences. By the way, how are Billy Ayers and Bernadette Dorn doing with their community organizing project in Gaza? What a friend of Israel you are, Mr. Liar. You also hope that your speech would garner votes from your anti-semitic base. That base needs little encouragement; but you have reminded your allies in Hamas and Hezbollah to get busy with those phone banks that raised so much money for you in the last election. For our sake, and for the sake of your own country, President Straw Man, I pray you fail. Nice chatting with you.

  27. Ditto everything you say, batb.
I didn’t think my opinion of Obamao could sink any lower. Watching this, it did. What a moral pygmy this man is. BiBi was magnificent: dignified and truthful.
Here is the magnificent Psalm 122, Coverdale version, to which batb refers:
    ¶ Laetatus sum
I was glad when they said unto me, We will go into the
house of the Lord. Our feet shall stand in thy gates, O Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is built as a city that is at unity in itself. For
thither the tribes go up, even the tribes of the Lord, to testify
unto Israel, to give thanks unto the Name of the Lord. For
there is the seat of judgement, even the seat of the house of
    David.
O pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that
love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and plenteousness
within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions’ sakes,
I will wish thee prosperity. Yea, because of the house of the
Lord our God, I will seek to do thee good.
Herbert Parry set this psalm to music. It was sung at the beginning of the latest Royal Wedding and the version here is that sung in St. Paul’s Cathedral for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee: 50 years on the throne. (I like the royal procession, but if that doesn’t do it for you, diminish the link and just listen!!)
At about the 3:00 mark, there’s a trumpet fanfare and the choir proclaims over and over, “Vivat Regina Elizabetha”! (We can think Vivat Israel!) Then at 4:40, in contrast, begins the very beautiful and quiet, “O pray for the peace of Jerusalem . . .” AMEN.

  28. That posture was disgusting. Imagine talking to someone for eight minutes or more and looking at that display of “I am not listening to a thing you are saying.” Obama never fails to insult and condescend. But did you notice at the end….to his leg ass kissers in the press… “Thanks guys!” Now you can all line up and hump my leg, Sorry this guy made you wait so long…

  29. I have a number of disagreements with some posts.
First, Abe Froman’s blanket condemnation of Muslims as genetically evil is rubbish; that’s the same mindset we saw in the Third Reich and in all bigotry of one group vs another group: the declaration that the Other is inherently evil and must be wiped off the earth.
Second, the blanket adulation of Israel by many on this blog as some kind of ‘higher people or nation’. I disagree. Israel is a political construct and like all such, must be open to evaluation and criticism of its political and social actions.
To suggest that it and its people and its leaders are beyond such evaluation moves them all out of the realm of reality and into the realm of WORDS.
To live in the realm of words rather than reality is the mindset of the sophist, the socialist, the left. it’s comforting because debate hinges around only a skill with words. But facts are non-verbal..
So, I think there are a lot of problems in the ME that have absolutely nothing to do with the extreme ideologies espoused above. That is, they are outside of Words…and rest in hard reality.
The hard reality is: what exists on the ground.
Facts: the territorial base of Israel was inhabited for centuries by many peoples over many centuries; the latest were the Palestinians – so-called by the British and other mandates. The fact that they are not a distinct ethnic group is irrelevant to nationhood. Canadians are not a distinct ethnic group.
Fact: There is no such thing in the political reality as a land that essentially belongs to any people. No ‘first footstep’ exists. Nationhood is a political not genetic or ethnic construct. North America is such an example.
Fact: the 1948 legal body authorized an area of land to be defined as two political nations for the Jews and for the people who were already living there for centuries. Never mind the reasons, never mind why or what. It’s a fact and has to be dealt with as such.
Fact: the people living there and the surrounding nations rejected this external authorization, went to war, lost. The new nation of Israel was set up.
Fact: the reality of the displaced peoples – and don’t suggest that they left on their own whim…? They left because there was a war, because it was clear that they would not be accepted as citizens of this new nation because…they are the ‘wrong religion’.
What happens to people displaced by incoming peoples?
In many cases – they settle in new areas of the new nation and are accepted as citizens. In Israel, this is a MAJOR PROBLEM because they are unacceptable as citizens because of their religion.
So- financial compensation seems to be in order?
Fact: The W Bank is vital to Israel, and not for its defense but for its vital agricultural land and its absolutely necessary aquifers. The problem of arable land and above all, water, is a major issue in all of the ME nations.
Fact: the 1967 war which led to Israel’s occupation of the W Bank could have led to its incorporation into the State of Israel. A major problem, indeed, the major problem, is that the Palestinians who live there are unacceptable as citizens of Israel because of their religion.
This creates a massive dilemma. Israel needs the W Bank – and I maintain not for defense but for its resources – but, without the inhabitants. Therefore it cannot annex it but must maintain an occupation – and – try to ‘encourage the people’ living there to leave.
Fact: it is ignorant and naive to suggest that the settlers in the W Bank are peaceful and leave the Palestinians alone. They are as militant as the Palestinians and regularly burn down crops and farms, attack civilians and so on.
Both peoples have not merely a long cultural history of antagonism (read their texts) but also, a factual stake in the same land.
Fact: The other Islamic states have not, I maintain, wanted to see a Palestinian democracy. That would set a dangerous example to their own tribal, undemocratic dictatorships. Therefore they have worked, using the I-P reality, to incite and externalize the unrest of their own citizens…transforming that unrest into an anti-Israel rather than internal conflict.
That is, both Israel and the Islamic states used the Palestinians, inciting them to hostility, each for their own political needs.
Fact: the exponential growth in populations in the Islamic states has moved their economies beyond the carrying capacity of the old tribal organizational mode of an Elite Set of hereditary leaders (by birth or military means) using a state owned single-resource economy (oil, Suez tolls) to sustain their people. This is no longer viable and they are moving to private capitalism and yes, democracy.
This means that the pressure against a Palestinian state will be reduced in the Islamic world. But what of Israel? Since it can’t merge the two peoples into one nation and yet, requires control of the W Bank – what’s the solution?
And this solution must not be based in Words but Facts.
I suggest: a two-headed single state. That is, Israel and Palestine merge as a federation, with each side having control over citizenship, education, health etc, but, a national govt made up of equal representatives dealing with shared resources and a collaborative economy.
I can’t see any other solution. Neither peoples are going to disappear..and the emerging democracies of the other Islamic nations can’t leave one set of peoples ‘occupied’.
As for Obama – I don’t understand his speech; that is, I don’t understand who it was for. Who was its audience? He is, in my view, ignorant of history, of societal organization..and yes, he likes to create divisiveness and set peoples against each other. He likes to watch them hate each other.
I note also that he claimed credit for the democracy movement in the ME, ignoring that it was Bush’s doctine, ignoring that he, Obama, turned aside from the Iranian demonstrators, dithered over those in Egypt and Libya, has shown no support for any people’s groups…
With Obama, it’s always about him and his agenda. So – I’m puzzled by his speech. It was ignorant and divisive; who was it meant for?

  30. batb, well said @ 7:53 AM.
    Nice translation nick.
It is maybe too soon to discuss whether Carter or Obama are the worst Presidents in US history.

  31. I love Israeli Jews but American Jews I totally disrespect. They are left wing, secular a..hol…
They voted for ObamaYama…are they stupid?

  32. ET … I have been scolded. Your post was informative…. However, it remains that the Muslim world is mandated to take over the world.
Many Muslims may not be interested personally perusing that goal, but they will be forced to support it one way or another by virtue of their membership in the sick religion.
There will always be radicals in the Muslim world just as there are still some, but not many radicals in the dwindling Christian world.
The Muslim world is not dwindling, as you mentioned it is growing fast and not able to continue to support it’s populations .. they are spreading out over the world and so are the radical elements.
They are a perpetual threat to peace in the world because their religion condones violence and nonacceptance of others.
No matter what is done, even your lala suggestion of the merged governance of the Palestinians and the Jews cannot happen … it just can’t and you know it.
I do not believe there is an answer … I believe there will be perpetual war in the Middle east that will outlast the West and whatever comes after … it’s genetic. Humanity itself has always warred with each other, but with these primitives is in the forefront of their way of life. The evidence is overwhelming.

  33. The Headline: Benjamin Netanyahu Schools Obama
    Barry’s grade?
    “F”
This grade will also not be revealed to the public along with all his other hidden grades from the schools he attended.

  34. Man does not live by bread alone and to reduce all motivations to one’s physical surroundings is at best naive or disingenuous a least. While one’s physical surroundings may give impetus ultimately one’s belief system determines action and outcome. One rich man lives in a palace and another man equally wealthy lives in a hovel. One poor man puts every penny he has into a business and becomes wealthy. Another poor man takes his few pennies buys another beer and so remains poor. What belief causes the rich man to live in a palace or a hovel. What belief causes a poor man to begin a business or buy a beer. What belief causes a nation to hate and loathe a neighbouring nation so much it seeks to destroy its neighbour. What belief causes a nation to open its arms to the worlds riffraff and welcome the stranger. What belief causes a nation to to maintain its pur laine status.

  35. There cannot be many times since the end of the nineteeth century when a Leader of another nation has told the President of the U.S.A. 4Q in public. Cheers;

  36. ET. Fact. The second the camel jockeys stop firing rockets at Israel you will get peace. Fact, it is one thing to have facts quit another to be able to figure.

  37. Israel’s not perfect. But it’s the only truly democratic country in the Middle East. It’s a decent country. Can anyone say that about its Arab neighbours?
“O, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper that love thee.” I say Amen.
Over at Power Line I love Steven Hayward’s description of BiBi’s lesson for Obamao: “home schooling”!

  38. Boobama’s handlers thought they would cut Netenyahu off at the knees with a surprise no notice
speech. Instead, their boy came out wildly swinging and almost knocked off his own head.
