Check out this thinly-veiled apologia for mob violence in British newspaper The Guardian.
Mesley and the CBC with a real hatchet job on Kenney tonight.
Notice too how the EKOS/Liberal/Frank Graves poll is always the outlier to the rest of the polls.
He has the Dippers trending within 5 points of the CPC.
He’s about 5 points off on both parties, according to the other polls.
Hidden agenda, mais non?
There’s word on the “twitterverse” of an angus reid poll that confirms Ekos quackery. I’m getting worried. Meanwhile the Elizabeth May released her internal poll numbers claiming she’s ahead of Gary Lunn by some 7 points or so. That’s good news for Gary as far as I’m concerned.
I grew up in small-town Saskatchewan and like most prairie kids had seen what a train-squashed penny looked like. Of course we were warned by the police and our parents that you never put anything on the train rails because sure as hell has fire it would cause the derailment of the train.
Today I am 61 years young and wishing I had put a penny on the rail (couldn’t afford a nickle).
Thanks for that video EBD. Loved it.
Is it me or is what i am seeing a load of crap i am hereing all kinds of people talking up the NDP but yet i still feel like there will be a conservative majority?

Always makes me wonder why a riding wants to be on the outside looking in. Oh well, if per chance, that fluke happense, my riding is very likely to go CPC (DeSouza) this time, which means, finally, the McKenzie interchange will get some attention…..
Yes, very interesting numbers from Democratic space.
And yes, EKOS is just out there as far as its numbers, not consistent with the rest…..
I was putzing around the web and came across this website that I have never seen mentioned here,or anywhere else for that matter. It appears to be a Conservative ad site.Maybe I get out too often.
Coalition government is a “disoriented government”
Now that Duceppe has enlisted the help of Jacques Parizeau, former head of the PQ in Quebec, and has become involved in this election campaign, obviously he smells blood, Canadians must be reminded of his enlightening previous comments, in regards to a coalition in Ottawa.
“A weaker govt in Ottawa is eminently satisfying. The image must be one of a weak, disoriented govt which will become weaker and more disoriented in the future. This is perfect”
The BQ have brought out Parizeau. The Liberals have Chretien and Martin. The NDP are trying to reach Tommy Douglas after hearing that he is not dead enough.
Hey Dan,

Re: Polls.
The fanatasy that the NDP are really ahead of the Liberals is slowing down. None of the reliable polls show that. Harper is still ahead by several points. Because of the Easter holiday, a lot of the polls are a day behind. Tomorrow will tell the story.
David Akin has posted a table that lists the advance poll numbers from this weekend. Esquimalt Juan de Fuca was in the top 20 list from this weekend. I think this bodes well for Troy since I think his campaign is much better run.

Very interesting; that link. It all makes perfect sense now. Those despicable troglodytes from Westboro Baptist are actually followers of a hateful leftie, a disbarred lawyer and former democRat activist…who knew? The msm were certainly not rushing around broadcasting that truth now, were they? Better to paint them as some radical bible thumpers.
From the link:
UPDATE: Some of the feedback we’ve received from this piece came along the lines that it’s inappropriate to refer to Fred Phelps as a “Democrat activist.”
We stand by that characterization. If anything, it’s an understatement.
Fred Phelps ran for major office in Kansas as a Democrat no less than four times. He ran for governor on the Democrat ballot in 1990, 1994 and 1998 and for senator in 1992. Phelps received 11,000 votes, or seven percent, in 1990, he received 5,000 votes, or three percent, in 1994 and he picked up 15,000 votes, or 15 percent, in 1998. And in the senatorial contest in 1992 he garnered 49,000 votes, or 30 percent. Phelps furthermore ran as a Democrat candidate for mayor of Topeka in 1993 and 1997.
Phelps also has been closely associated with Al Gore on several occasions throughout Gore’s career – Phelps’ son Fred, Jr. was a Gore delegate at the 1988 Democrat convention and the Phelpses hosted a Gore fundraiser in Topeka that year. Phelps claims that Westboro members “ran” Gore’s 1988 campaign in Kansas.
Phelps may not fit within the typical definition of “Democrat activist” some of our readers expect – but a six-time Democrat candidate is an activist Democrat. That is quite clear, as unknown to the public as it might be
Yes, I subscribed some time ago to those online Angus Reid surveys, but quickly bowed out. Realized that it is not a random survey. Therefore the numbers are skewed. BY what and how much is another matter
Here is a short paragraph from an email from Alexandra Morton, the advocate for saving our salmon and exposing the fish farm industry. I was interested in her work up till now and have unsubscribed. I also chastised her for her Harper derangement syndrome.
“What concerns me is that Stephen Harper is exhibiting increasingly disturbing behaviour. Has he really removed photographs of previous Prime Ministers and changed the name of our government to bear his? Democratic governments do not bear the name of elected agents. These are warning flags of a self-obsessed authority. It is increasingly clear the authorities are out of control.”

OK, you heard it here first.
How about a coalition of the Cons and Libs with Comrade Jack as opposition leader?
(and Gilles plays the Joker)
Yay ‘nucks! The refs stayed out of the way, and the ‘nuckers won it. My fingernails won’t recover until the 3rd round, I’m sure.
I always figured if the Canucks could beat Chicago, they can beat anyone. You should have heard the noise here in the West End just now. Similar to when Canada won the Olympic gold medal game last year.
Putzing around on the web again,I found an interesting item.
Part one: You’ve got to remember that the most important thing about a life is that it’s yours, and nobody else’s. You can’t live a life for the sake of your family, your parents, your brothers, your sisters, your children, because and here’s the hard truth here,it’s the ones who love us most who put the fear into us,who burden us with expectations and responsibilities we feel unable to meet. So we need to say, this is our life, not yours, and we’re going to do it our way.
Part two: — Reporter; One thing, just one thing quickly, when he moved to teach at Harvard, from what I can tell the children were still teenagers then, and I’m just wondering if,
Susan Barrowclough ; He left his family when his daughter was eight, and his son was 11. 5 years later he went to Harvard.
Reporter; And because from looking at it from the little information that I could gather ,it almost appears like at least emotionally, that he abandoned them, although I don’t want to be saying that myself. Was he,did he maintain a regular contact?
Susan B ; By telephone.
Reporter; I see.
Yup,that is Mr.Family Pack himself speaking in part one. In part two,it appears to be an unknown reporter talking to his first wife,Susan Barrowclough.
Is this an omen for the Conservatives – Mark Donnelly the Canucks anthem singer also sang the anthem at a Harper rally in Burnaby a few weeks back wearing the same tux with tory blue bow tie.
Good for the Canucks.
Legerweb has been sending me a weekly poll, which I believe has been commissioned by MacLean’s.
Another youtube that makes for some very interesting reading. This one purports to be a professionsl psychiatric assessment of the man who would be our king,or maybe our czar.
Frank Graves obviously no longer can sustain an erection for Iggula, so he pumped himself full of viagra for Jack Lenin Layton. My daughter just came back from her first trip around Sask., she asked me why the roads are so bad, I explained 60 years of NDPEE govts blowing money on everything but what is needed, did that to Sask, thank God they finally woke up. Now the absurdity of Layton in power, that our corrupt MSM is currently trying to stuff us with, just shows how bad they want to bring Canada down like they have the US. The enemy is the so called MSM.
After all this, if the NDP is indeed surging, the possibility of ‘blue’ liberals crossing the floor could exist, stay tuned.
If the Libs find themselves as a third place party, I believe there are factions in the Libs that would never take orders from Jake the Snake. Of course, you have your Martha Hall Findlays and Drydens, and Goodales who are kin with the Dippers, but there are the right leaning Liberals (few and far between admittedly) who will make for interesting times in the short term….
(and Gilles plays the Joker)
Hehehehehe. Sounds like the basis of a really good cartoon.
As the media hype (is that all it is?) anticipates with glee the possible scenario of Prime Minister Jack Layton and his coalition cabal Cabinet, I’m reminded of end times: THE SECOND COMING Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity. Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
I & O’s my own grandpa.
Facts? What facts? Don’t confuse Moi with the facts.

“The Other Obama Conspiracy Theory”
“The “other” and perhaps best founded Obama conspiracy theory revolves not around the President’s birth certificate or his grades in school, themes recently taken up by Donald Trump, but over whether he was the true author of his best-selling “Dreams from My Father”. Jack Cashill, author of Deconstructing Obama, is the primary proponent of the theory that it was ghost written by someone else. The book’s summary says:
“I’ve written two books,” Barack Obama told a crowd of teachers in July of 2008. “I actually wrote them myself.” The teachers exploded in laughter. They got the joke: lesser politicians were not bright enough to do the same.” http://pajamasmedia.com/richardfernandez/2011/04/26/the-other-obama-conspiracy-theory/#comments

“Rewriting history for political gain”
“In a televised town hall-style infomercial, paid for by the Liberal party and aired on Sunday, Michael Ignatieff assures us that he is not “a standard-issue academic.” In sharp contrast to that tedious breed, he portrays himself as an interesting man who has led an interesting life. He’s been “out where it’s mucky and dirty and violent and scary,” dodging bullets as a war correspondent.
In 1993 he related one of his tales of derring-do in the introduction to his book Blood and Belonging. The setting is the war-torn Balkans, in the conflict zone between Serbian and Croatian territory. Our intrepid correspondent describes what happens when he and his film crew try to cross a UN checkpoint into Serb-held territory. Two Canadian infantrymen, whom Ignatieff dismissively refers to as “anxious adolescents,” man the checkpoint.
The Canadians wave Ignatieff’s party through, but their van is immediately surrounded by 15 Serbian paramilitaries, drunk from a wedding in a neighbouring village. They accuse the crew of being Croatian spies. The drunkest one (“with dead eyes and glassy, sweat-beaded skin”) seizes the van’s steering wheel and starts to drive off.
One of the Canadian soldiers, “breathing heavily,” attempts to stop him.”
“But it’s one thing to change a political position. It’s a different matter altogether to change the facts of a story for cheap political gain.” http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2011/04/25/john-sainsbury-rewriting-history-for-political-gain/

RonT, an interesting point—and actually good news for the Conservatives, I believe. I, too, used to be part of a national, on-line survey, but after refusing to answer all kinds of leading questions—they never had “none of the above”—I just delete these left-leaning surveys as soon as they reach my Inbox. Their bias soon becomes very clear and they nudge the participants to their point of view. No thanks!
So, “Polls show that the NDP are rapidly gaining on the Conservatives”, which I just heard on the radio, don’t hold much weight with me. The poll’s likely a set-up. Lots of them are.
The Green Party candidate’s election signs in my riding are made of the same material as all the others: factory-made, corrugated plastic held up by a metal frame. Why don’t the Greenies lead by example? How about hand written signs on paper?
And Lizzie-Mae should forget flying (unless she can find a broomstick): why isn’t she travelling by horse and buggy?
Hypocrites, thy name is Green.
In Sherman’s autobiography he describes their train sabatoge activities. They’d tear up long stretches of track, burn the ties and cook the rails over them and then wrap the ties around trees.
Here’s a post by Scott Johnson at today’s Power Line:
“Syriana
“In his own engaging style Jay Nordlinger makes a few points we have tried to make here. Here is how Jay says it:
“I want to quote this report from Syria: ‘They opened fire from roof-tops as mourners marched from a mosque to a cemetery . . .’ What sort of people would do such a thing, gun down innocents as they march in a funeral procession? Such people can be found in any society, I’m sorry to say. Dictatorships rarely have trouble staffing up. . . .
“Where has the United States been, as this evil has been perpetrated? Have we recalled our ambassador, made a fuss at the U.N.? Zero. This Washington Post editorial [link at Power Line] correctly tells of our national shame.
“A final word, for now: When Israel announced the expansion of some housing in its capital, Jerusalem, the Obama administration went nuts. Absolutely nuts. Everyone — president, vice president, secretary of state — was mobilized against Israel.
“When the Syrian government mows down unarmed innocents in the streets — nothing. For more than two years now, we’ve seen the worldview of the Obama administration, expressed in foreign policy. Are you sickened yet?”
Yes, I wonder what it will take for some people to stop idolizing Obama. IMO, what a creep.

every possibility he’s an instructor or one of “Intrepid’s SOE chaps” in disguise.
ExxonMobil has formally submitted its application to develop the Hebron oilfield — outlining heftier production platform costs, an additional $3.5-billion subsea tieback, and first oil by late 2017.
The cost of building the Hebron platform and drilling development wells is now estimated at more than $8.3 billion, according to the development plan application.
…ExxonMobil estimates production operations will cost more than $5.8 billion over the life of the oilfield until 2046.
As part of the development, the partners envision a potential subsea tieback to the platform to pump oil from a portion of Hebron known as Pool 3.
The application anticipates a $3.5-billion price tag for Pool 3, but it could go as high as $5 billion if it’s fully developed.
Discovered in 1981, the Hebron oilfield consists of three main fields — Hebron, West Ben Nevis and Ben Nevis — containing a combined 700 million barrels of oil.
The Hebron partners are ExxonMobil (36 per cent), Chevron Canada (26.6 per cent), Suncor Energy (22.7 per cent), Statoil Canada (9.7 per cent) and Nalcor Energy (4.9 per cent).
—————
Hibernia oil is a light sweet crude, with a density of 32-34° API and a sulphur content, by weight, of 0.4-0.6%. The field contains approximately three billion barrels of oil in-place, and recoverable reserves are estimated to be at around 1,200 million barrels.
The field started production in November 1997 and by 2009 its total crude oil production was 126,000 barrels per day. The field produced 667 million barrels of crude by the end of 2009.
The Hibernia field is operated by ExxonMobil and owned by Norsk Hydro (5%), Murphy Oil (6.5%), Canada Hibernia Holding Corporation (8.5%), Suncor (20%), Chevron Canada Resources (26.875%) and ExxonMobil Canada subsidiary (33.125%).
The initial production rates, which exceeded 50,000 boe per day from a single well proved Hibernia to have the most prolific oil well in Canada. The field life of Hibernia is expected to be around 44 years with complete abandonment during 2040. The field is expected to generate 95.08 billions in revenues (undiscounted) during its remaining life (starting 1/1/2010) and is expected to yield an IRR of around 30.92%.
Since oil first flowed from the Grand Banks in late 1997, the province has reaped almost $7.2 billion in royalties, over $6 billion in the past 5 years alone.
The federal government’s share of revenue from the 8.5% CHHC stake alone, not including income and other taxes generated to the feds, has surpassed a billion in payout as well as being repaid the intitial 463 million it invested when Gulf Canada pulled out.
Ignatieff thinks oil is At Dollar Ten a barrel!! Thats $1.10, i kid you not. Dont believe me you can view that conversation on CTV.CA he had the conversation with Bev THompson of Canada AM @ the 7:30 mark of the clip. He states he is not giving deals to Oil Companies that are making huge amounts of money now that oil is above $1.10 a barrell
Wholy shit if oil was at that we would not be paying over $1.37 per/ltr
Oil is trading currently @111.80 per/bar that according to ctv business. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20110427/main-election-110427/20110427?s_name=election2011

A pub singer has been arrested on suspicion of racism for singing the classic chart hit Kung Fu Fighting.
The song, performed by Simon Ledger, 34, is said to have offended two Chinese people as they walked past the bar where he was singing.

As the media hype (is that all it is?) anticipates with glee the possible scenario of Prime Minister Jack Layton and his coalition cabal Cabinet, I’m reminded of end times:
THE SECOND COMING
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;

They got the joke: lesser politicians were not bright enough to do the same.”

It’s a different matter altogether to change the facts of a story for cheap political gain.”

“BBC | Libya: UN team to start probe of human rights abuses
A UN team is due to arrive in Tripoli to investigate allegations of human rights violations in Libya since the start of the conflict in February.”

The officer holding the tape measure in the train wrecking film seems to be a
pongo of some description, possibly Canadian. Being OSS, there is also
every possibility he’s an instructor or one of “Intrepid’s SOE chaps” in disguise.
