Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Typical Tory fascist swine, stifling that man’s artistic freedom of expression. They live to shut down dissent! In a real democracy he would be getting a grant to express his defiance so eloquently. You know it makes sense.
“This is a very unfortunate event and a very serious issue.”
Now if the RCMP and such can be as diligent in enforcing the real crime laws.
Now…..does anybody else NOT think that the bureaucracy in this country tries to dictate WHO THEIR BOSSES will be?
Collusion is what it is, folks……and should be treated the same way as insider trading.
Does anybody know if our friendly Elections Canada returning officer for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe Ghislaine Ringuette-Crawford have any relation at all to Senator Pierette Ringuette (L)?
Just curious about this. And curiouser.
funny how they were ALL conservative signs…
what are the odds eh?
EC Canada – all Troika, all the time; as Mark in Calgary would say.
I just finished watching an interesting exchange on CEEBEESEE with the Troika, the Troika cheerleaders (media pipples) and Tom Flannigan. They were talking about the cost of the F-35s. Tom Flannigan said that the jets would cost about the same as funding CEEBEECEE. Evan’s jaw nearly hit the floor and he changed the topic on the proverbial dime! I laughed out loud! A Tom Flannigan ‘header’:
” About the same as funding CBC”
‘Fly with eagles or gobble with the turkys – your choice’
The EC chick said “I don’t hire people based on their political affiliation. They can be communists as far as I’m concerned.”
Oddly enough!
So the question presents itself:
“Is Elections Canada in the tank for the Liberals?”
Given all those so called ‘in out’ election financing ‘faux scandals’ how independently partisan is this body?
Well for $300 million we know it is not a FREE election.
Given the EC Conservative sign collection policy should we also question whether we have a FAIR election policy?
Cheers

Sounds pretty stinky. The logical first step would seem to be to a call to the
Tory campaign office and a request for removal of the allegedly illegal signs.
Guess he had a lot of free time on his hands prior to opening the poll.
Ringuette:
Reading this morning’s Saint John TJ I was pondering the very same story.
Anyone verify the question??
It would be very interesting indeed.
Ringuette incident:
Reading this morning’s Saint John TJ I was wondering the same thing.
Anyone verify if their are related??
what a circle jerk this blog and it’s comments are! Enjoy your right-wing pablum and your daily dose of anger, losers
I came across this January 17, 1998 Canada Gazette (link to PDF file: http://tinyurl.com/6aj776j) that lists the following in a list of Returning Oficers:
Moncton: Crawford, Ghislaine Ringuette, Retired, [Address Redacted by me for posting in this comment thread]
Note that Ghislaine Ringuette Crawford is listed as “retired”.
Senator Pierrette Ringuette was born in 1955 and has one daughter, but I don’t think Ghislaine Ringuette Crawford is the daughter — unless she retired really early.

Might be some other relation, of course.
No more digging for me — back to work.
Rogue Male, or they could be also Acorn people.
Such a stinging rebuke Grant. How do you type so well with only one hand?
Elections officers are volunteers hired by EC for each election …no experience required and no vetting done. They do get paid a fixed rate but most are into it IMO because they have nothing better to do.
I’ve done this in past years and many of the officers were retired teachers or government employees … many others were simply unemployed and looking to make a bit of cash.
http://www.elections.ca/res/loi/fel/tariff_e.pdf
I trust Elections Canada gets the message.
A. Cooper: wow, you think that up all by yourself?
Admit it: all this whining about the unbalanced MSM and one-sided blogs like this are somehow “authoritative”? It’s hard sometimes reading about things you don’t want to believe, but you people should give it a try sometime. Until then keep stroking each other!
The current government bureaucray is a Liberal/Socialist creation. To create this monsytrosity, you need to believe in the STATE. All state employees will vote for their own interests … which is continued and increased state employment.
The critical “tipping point” (to use a stupid liberal catch-phrase) is when 50% of the working population are actually paid by the various levels of government, either directly or indirectly.
Fodging teat suckers!
When it gets to that point, I will stop working and demand state support.
Grant I think you need a Hug
I Love you!
Steven
“Admit it: all this whining about the unbalanced MSM and one-sided blogs like this are somehow “authoritative”?”
You can get basic ESL tutoring for free in a lot of places, Grant. Worth a look I think.
“Such a stinging rebuke Grant. How do you type so well with only one hand”
LOL A Cooper….
THAT is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I read his comment!
Great minds and all that…
Under the excellent tutelage of lookout and Robert of Ottawa, on another thread, I, for the very first time, offered my lawn for a sign: Deborah Meridith, CPC, Quadra.
The e-mail response:
Thank you for your support, Mr. _______!
While we are not delivering lawn signs anymore due to shortage of them, and the fact that they have been uprooted or vandalized around the city, would you be willing to help us through volunteering?
eh, sounds like an honest mix-up, it’s plausible. The real determinant of the truth is whether Liberal or NDP signs in the area were also removed. Seems like the proper steps were taken in removing the official.
Where in the hell are the Libs getting all this money for this campaign ? This information is supposed to be in the public domain , no ?
Mistake my arse, this is the kinda crap Conservative’s have had to put up with via Election’s Canada’s biasness for two decades.
Thanks Steve, love you too!

Me No Dhimmi – Volunteering, especially on election day is way more helpful than displaying a sign. The task is to get every single person to vote who indicated to one of our canvassers that they are leaning Conservative. GOTV or get out the vote is the bread and butter of every campaign but it requires lots of volunteers.
If you have even a few hours go for it. We lost one riding in BC by 20 votes to that a*hole Dosanjh so this is one way you really can make a difference.
Elections Liberal? I’ve noticed that the Liberals are all over American, conservative blogs, and have been for weeks.
At two American sites today, in caps: “VOTE MONDAY. VOTE LIBERAL.”
MND, well done: I’m proud of you, even if it didn’t work out!
Cheers!
“it’s comments are”

“Its” does not take an apostrophe in this usage. Enjoy the grammar lesson, loser.
Interesting the way EC’s “mistakes” and “investigations” invariably lean in one direction.
Elections Canada biased? Say it ain’t so. Dion gets extensions on debt ’till H freezes over. AVAAZ gets a pass. Liberals get advance notice of a raid on the Conservatives and CBC is there, Libs also did in and out but not as well because they were broke. Vote mobs aka illegal voting gets a pass.
AVAAZ inserting itself in another election through lawfare and the Libs say the Conservatives are Republican.
Naw I don’t see a bias.
As far as the Libs losing lawn signs who do you think is more suspicious. Conservatives, NDP, Greens, Liberals or people with taste?
At least the EC ‘official’ is named.
Do we have a name for Volpe’s buddy that was removing articles from mail boxes?
Sorry Kate.. What about the Layton for PM polls… Have we gone crazy?
Mark,
I thought exactly the same thing when I read the article. If it was a mistake, he would have removed ALL the signs from the area. Oddly, this obvious question was not referenced.
Sun TV:
2,000,000+ ballots cast at advance polls.
Up 35% from last election.
H/T EC.

“Globe | ‘No quick fix’ as voter participation plummets to new lows
Election campaigns nowadays are as consumed with the quandary of dwindling voter turnout as they are with party policies, political leadership and candidate blunders”.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/time-to-lead/no-quick-fix-as-voter-participation-plummets-to-new-lows/article1998544/
I keep hearing people on the radio saying that if more people voted, things would be a lot different in gov’t. I get the distinct impression they think the country would turn further left.
My dream would be a record voter turn out, with a solid Conservative majority of seats plus the majority of the popular vote.
Wouldn’t that make some heads pop off?
bad day grant or a bad life ?
If the signs were removed from private property and the official removed the signs from said private property, isn’t that trespassing?
Hmmmm. “An Elections Canada information officer has been dismissed from his position to avoid a “political war””, not because he did something wrong?
Headline gives a hint.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! They must have tried CBC and didn’t get any traction.
Grant Bowen is a lefty troll. Don’t feed it. Thanks.
Meanwhile: Terry Molester, Fife the Magic Newsfairy, Iggula,Jack Lenin and Dizzy May have been spotted in Home Depots buying large amounts of Kitchen Sinks. As The Honest Business and Family Oriented PM Steven Harper closes in on 195 to 197 seats it is rumored that Fifee Molester Iggula and Jack will Hurl the sinks at Harper while Dizzy May knaws his leg for a diversion. Suck it up Grant, mommas boy.
Grant, I might as well help you out, too. “It’s” is the contraction of “it is”. If “it is” makes no sense in the sentence you are typing, then try “its” which is possessive and means “belongs to it.”
Make sure you come back now. These lessons are free and we can almost guarantee none of your friends (assuming you have some) will know you’ve been here, so don’t feel you’re betraying them.
(Hey, if you come back I can tell you the difference between, and proper usage of, “you’re”, “your” and “yore” or “there”, “they’re” and “their”.)
