Deja Media all over again. Do these people EVER stop talking about themselves?
Overheard from outside the Twitter bunker;
@katewerk: Why blame the #CPC crowd? All through university they learned that shouting down speakers is “free speech”.
@TheERABrohm: shouting down a speaker is an action of defiance but interfering with a journalist doing his job is different.
@katewerk: So, we must never defy journalists. But, what if a journalist is invited to be a speaker?

I assume the question is rhetorical because the answer is and always will be…..No, they can’t help themselves.
I was in Guelph, Ontario, when Preston Manning was shouted down by a “crowd” of leftist U of G students. Preston had to leave without speaking.
The media had no problem with that at all.
Funny, when the shoe is on the other foot and the media is shouted down, how evil the (Conservative) “crowd” becomes.
I find the Twitter speak amongst the legacy crowd most enlightening. That and their lame responses or outright ignoring valid challenges.
Keep on hammering at them Kate, something might sink in somewhat, someday…until then, the entertainment value is worth the effort.
No Grits go to Tamil Tigers fundraisers any more; they’re too crowded.
Questions for CBC reporter: “Do you REALLY believe you matter?” The inanity of questioning Harper because someone in Vancouver spoke at a school that was founded by someone who is probably a criminal.
They barely carry out due-diligence on their own stories, do they really expect everyone to carry out historical due diligence and investigate all 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon of everyone they talk to?
I know, only Harper has to live by that standard…
Is this globe reporter angling for a position at the ceeb?
Instead of shutting down the media (which does look bad) the people around Harper should make up signs similar to this.
For example: It doesn’t matter what Harper says, you’ve already written the answer you want.
and I just noticed it’s in Uji’s riding, the man who came to play clean up for the Glen Clark/Mike Harcourt BC NDPer’s. No doubt some criminal association there.
This is such a ridiculous story. That the CBC would rather talk about this and hundred other inanities rather than, say, who will balance the budget is reason 14,312 to completely ignore the MSM.
Political journos can be dogged for sure, but new York sports journos back in the late fifties may have been the very worst.
And example: a group of writers were swarming the Yankees manager to ask about among other things one players wife’s newborn child. A writer asked if the child was nursing well. The manager said he thought the baby was. The writer’s supplemental question: “breast or bottle?”
And think about it this way. This funder of terrorists founded and is still involved with a school that is financed by the Canadian taxpayer — he’s apparently a perfectly fine individual to educate children on the public dime — but if he expresses support for a obscure Tory candidate it’s a national scandal.
John Ivison doesn’t seem to understand the difference between “accountable” and “gotcha”
That’s about it, Kate. (Great tune, I’ll be humming it for awhile …)
Bobby F – I – fe
Craig Ol – I – ver
Terry M – I – lewsk – I (double whammy in his case …)
They and their media pals have ruined journalism. A once honourable profession is nothing more now than an echo chamber of like-minded, self-righteous partisans and left-lib panderers. I’m surprised they can’t hear their voices bouncing back at them off the walls.
This story reported on The National tonight was clipped for Mildewski to save his face. It was falsely done. They said the Harper handlers released a statement later to the media. NOT TRUE. He stood there and answered the questions asked of him then and there, but CBC started the clip AFTER PM Harper answered the questions…the video is on the CTV website under Stephen Harper on Malik..story doesn’t match video..
I was in Vancouver a few years back and they had a record rainy season. The local CBC logic at the time was it was George Bush’s fault.
I am going to ask my many friends in the Indo-Canadian culture how hard it would be to track a single individual who was found not guilty. And then how many hours and days it would take to track the man. Finally, I might even ask why the hell we should be tracking the man. If the courts found the guy not-guilty should we decide to overrule the verdict because he supported someone who happened to be affiliated with our Prime Minister.
Finally, if we did do all that tracking and had a magic wand to connect all the dots, would we be called a police state?
Next time it rains, blame it on George…the idiots at CBC probably do.
Here is the video…the media are liars on this story
http://ottawa.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20110423/conservatives-mississauga-110423/20110423?hub=OttawaHome
Hey it’s a 2fer1. Instead of the usual slime question of the day to Harper from the media today they get to slam the supporters of Mr. Harper as well.
I wonder if Clifford Olson is a lib or a dipper now? He won’t be conservative as Harper cut off his pension.
I spent a couple of hours there this afternoon playing with the young and the mindless. It was fun for a while, then it became exasperating and I found myself hurling insults (much wittier,of course) back. Most of the comments seemed to believe that this incident proved that our Prime Minister was a step away from Adolph himself. BTW,I doubt if many of them even know who this Adolph guy could be.
I linked to the CTV video, but that only fortified their case. It doesn’t matter what happened, these people believe the media that reinforces their beliefs.Damn the facts, full speed ahead.
It’s a pity.
I haven’t had a chance to watch The National tonight, and both of the MSM stories I read about this “incident” (including the G&M link) just refer to “a reporter”, but if the reporter in question was Terry Milewski, then the reaction of the crowd was both understandable and entirely warranted. For years now Milewski has gone on air with the sole aim of damaging Stephen Harper and the Conservatives. He’s not really a reporter, he’s more like an opposition operative.
What I got a kick out of was when they ran the story on CBC, one of the last points made was that nobody could understand how the candidate wouldn’t know who this guy was, because his face had been in the news headlines for 5 years straight…
Seriously?!?! News people, here’s a newsflash: just because you reported on it, doesn’t mean people will be aware of every acquitted person who makes the news. In fact, other than us crazies, I doubt anyone not addicted to politics actually watches your ‘news’ anymore.
Ontario Girl’s link to CTV story @ 9:39
Just read all the comments on it- MSM certainly taking their share of body blows for their lefty bias. And of course there are the feeble twits defending them.
Some pompous arsehole calling himself Democratically Speaking claims “CTV is clearly on the right of centre” and also infers that none of the intelligent people would be supporting Harper!
He obviously thinks highly of himself. But I’d pay to see the sh!t conniption he’ll be experiencing on May the 2nd.
I had to laugh at how thin-skinned John Ivison was when I razzed him about the dwindling readership of the National Post. I thought MSM journos were tougher than that…
Ivison: “@MolsonSS See that’s the kind of killer humour and soaring intellect you just can’t get from the MSM. Enough already.”
Lol! Didn’t think he’d actually repond.
But seriously, how pompous can you get when you consider yourself above criticism? He claims that I need HIM to stand up for ME if there’s a majority Tory governent. Umm, no that won’t be necessary, because I VOTED THEM IN!!!!!! And if they turn out to be a dud, I’ll vote them out just as fast.
Oh Kate, you slay me.
I agree Dante…
Kate that tweet exchange is classic.
Do they ever hear think before they speak??
Twits
They were just expressing themselves. Racist. If they were white women blowing whistles it would be ok. If it were Ann Coulter and no one removed four useless arses from the stage it would be ok. Vote mobs are ok. Racist. Ooo I feel like a journosomethingorother.

Akin just tweeted about a scam and then made a backhanded comment about the Conservatives only allowing 4 questions.
I mentioned that maybe they’d get more questions if they stopped the commentary while asking.
Hell Milewski asked three questions himself. Everybody heard the three distinctly different questions and Harper answered all three in English and French.
Trench-coat Terry Melewski was the intrepid Liberal party activist/”journalist”, who was co-ordinating with fellow Liberal, and former NDP’er, Dosanjh in this latest manufactured smear. Trench-coat Terry, like his fellow Liberals is upset, annoyed, and frustrated that they ( Liberal party media shills) are flaccidly impotent at setting the agenda of PM Harper’s campaign, and manipulating the outcome of this election. Ahhhh… Poor Trench-coat Terry, doesn’t like being interupted when he’s busy throwing his feces around the room, especially when he’s throwing his feces on behalf of the Liberal party. What a sick, pathetic man, almost as pathetic as his leader.
“Democratically Speaking claims “CTV is clearly on the right of centre” and also infers that none of the intelligent people would be supporting Harper!”
“Democratically Speaking” is no doubt one of those individuals who demand and expect instant gratification and a never-ending flow of entitlements. A balanced budget, a strong economy and lower taxes means absolutely nothing. The fact that all the promises strewn about by Ignatieff and Layton cost big money and this big money will make its way into the government coffers via higher taxes seems to escape people of this ilk. And besides …. Stephen Harper is a big meanie.
Christy Blanchford wasn’t just drowned out at the Waterloo university, she never was allowed to begin speaking. So much for the concept of free speech, not usually found at todays universities.
Tying together this story with the Hockey Game Booing Coverup was this tweet:
Toronto_Tory @CBCTerry Why is it when people boo you, it’s national news, but when people boo Michael Ignatieff, it goes completely unreported? #elxn41
When did the left stop believing in the UN Declaration of Human Rights?
Harper’s appearance was to announce a pledge to open an office dedicated to the promotion of religious freedom around the world. The lefties who are commenting on the CBC story will have none of it. It’s a cesspool! I guess the only time they support religious freedom is when it comes to women wearing burqas.
TimR…again the irony…those hateful comments about Harper and his ‘religion’, while demanding tolerance.
Lefty-liberalism is indeed a mental disorder.
BTW…I don’t need an ‘Office of Religious Freedom’ (which sounds like an antidote to HRC) to mention to Kate and friends Happy Easter!
And whether or not you believe…Jesus has risen from death!! That is why we rejoice!!
“Trench-coat Terry.”
Henceforth.
Well since you started it, bluetech:
Христос Воскрес! (Christ has risen!).
Воїстено Воскрес! (Indeed He has risen!).
To one and all!
Besides liberals, are any ethnics offended?
Ok, just watched the entire thing from beginning to end.
Terry Mileski (or however you spell it) asked his three questions, uninterupted. Harper answered all three questions, uninterupted. Crowd broke out into clapping and cheering for about 30 seconds. Questions resumed.
“shouting down a speaker is an action of defiance but interfering with a journalist doing his job is different.”
And when does a journalist become a political agent dressed in a trench coat?
I recall a Harper press conference from an earlier election in which a female reporter’s questions came out in ear piercing shrieks and screams; it was a scary spectacle. It appeared for a moment she had been caught in a leg trap but it turned out she was a ‘journalist’ on a mission, she just couldn’t conceal her venom.
I feel nothing but contempt against Liberal Media and the Ottawa Press Gallary, and contrary to the pissy pant’s crowd allegedly edicting that we treat them like royality I have no intention of doing so. In fact I wouldn’t tell the media a story even if it put me on the best seller list, they aren’t worth my time or my spending.
Take heart my evil brethren, soon CBC and the Liberal party will be just a bad memory for normative Canadians. With the impending political and social demise of these 2 temples of intellectual corruption will follow the demise of leftard donkey activism. It will be sooooo passé to act “Bolshy” at public meetings.
from the ‘all over again’ link:
“In a rare act of dissent Thursday, Conservative cabinet minister Peter Kent criticized his own party for allowing a man who hosted a tribute to the Tamil Tigers to run as a candidate.
“It is certainly a reflection on the party’s lack of due diligence,” ”
thanks Kate !!!
