  1. “I owe my soul to the company store”. That is what the dems and Obama want and what they are aiming for , no matter what they say or how they say it. Actually, Obama’s speech yesterday made it clear who he will blame and tax and that his agenda is
marching on to amass as much money as they can for the federal government.
If the Republicans don’t realize this soon and get on board with Paul Ryan , finding a spine in the process everything Obama and the dems want they will get and the country will be TOAST.
    The Iowahawk video is CLASSIC.

  2. US Budget Committee Chairman, Paul Ryan has put a 2012 budget proposal forward for discussion.

Whereas President Obama, the Campaigner and Chief, is using this crisis to demagogue the Republicans and launch his reelecttion campaign. How sad.

  3. America owes it’s soul to China, I guess.
Iowahawk for Supreme Intergalactic Emperor and Chairman of the Federal Reserve.

  4. They owe most of that to Bill Clinton and Barney Frank, who decided there should be a mansion in every pot.
Freddy franked Fannie and the US taxpayer paid to watch.

  5. Melwilde: you don’t need to vote NDP. Harper outspends even them! He does his predecessor Mulroney proud!
No REAL conservative spends over $56 BILLION
dollars and inflates Federal government by almost 50%. Geesh … he makes Trudeau blush!
So while Harper has his good points, let’s not kid ourselves that his record has been anything BUT fiscally conservative.
I think I am going to vote for my cat Reggie this time. He can’t stand to see me pay higher taxes cause it cuts into his catnip budget!

  6. Aizlynne – Are you a Liberal plant? We had a surplus (read ‘overtaxation’) when Harper took over the reins and he paid down a chunk of the national debt. The deficit since was ‘stimulus’ at the behest of the socialist opposition to avoid an unnecessary election – or as it turns out, delay the unnecessary election for one year.

  7. The Chinese are paying for their military build-up and modernization with the interest they earn on their loans to America. Wisconsin was just a preview of what needs to be done to pull the US out of its financial death spiral.

  8. Aizlynne — “No REAL conservative spends over $56 BILLION
dollars and inflates Federal government by almost 50%.”

That sheet doesn’t fly here. The stimulus package that created this debt was the least that PM Harper could do ,and still keep Canada together. It kept the coalition from stealing control which would have led to the west leaving confederation. Quebec’s mewlings do not compare to the absolute ” don’t talk to us,we are out of here” mindset of the west.

  9. The longer this thing goes along, the better plan would have been to just give all the home owners a million dollars to pay off their mortgages and squander the rest to get their economy moving again, instead of bailing out the banksters who now act as if nothing happened, and are back to living in Bonusville again, while hoarding the money that was supposed to be lent out.
Life really is stranger than fiction.
    Only in America.

  10. We’re beating the Ya-anks! We’re beating the Ya-anks!
In Ontario, every man, woman and child is on the hock for $33,500 in combined federal and provincial debt. But it’s away worse than that.
You see, because of age, disability or plain old uselessness,1/2 of he population doesn’t work. So that means that those who do work – in addition to being responsible for their own debt – have to pay the per capita debt of those who can’t/won’t work.
    I’m not done yet.
And, since every public servant’s salary comes from taxes payed by the private sector, and the private sector/public sector worker ratio presently at 4 : 1 in this country, that means that each private sector worker is carrying a public debt up around $70,0000.
But, no, no….we’re not in trouble. Nothing Iggy, Jack and Jill couldn’t ‘fix’.

  11. “2006, actually.”
January 2007. The election was November 2006 but the new Congress wasn’t sworn in until January.
In any event, in just 4 years Nancy Pelosi’s House racked up over $5.3 trillion of debt – more than had been amassed in the first 220 years of America’s existence.

  12. Alex >
“Much of Europe owes more than that, per capita..”
They also have allot more Muslims per capita – That’s why Europe is so financially and socially secure, eh?
Damn them europes are so much smarter than us.

  13. Alex –
You cite a debt figure for Europe, but why? Those debts have made Europe a fiscal basketcase; with the Iceland, Ireland, Greece economies, in crises caused by that debt you cite. Soon Portugal, Spain and France will join them.
Are you suggesting a $100,000 per capita figure as a speedier way to destroy the US, and usher in Obama’s ” just ” society, than the present $32,000 per cap?

  14. This country has never had bigger deficits or a higher national debt than it has now with Stephen Harper.

Iowahawk: Thank you for the information, and giving everyone a huge wake-up call!
