Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Look at me Shrek I’m a donkey. Correction Look at me Shrek I’m an a**.
Sorry, I’m not familiar with twitter. Does that mean that Ignatieff sent the message or Harper did?
Click the link.
FWIW, following the campaign via Twitter is for the politically obsessed. Boutique media. If you don’t know what it means, you’re in the majority and likely to remain in the majority. Don’t worry about it.
Iggy and Rick Mercer !! My God thats enough to make you puke
Darn, and I wanted to be a part of the “boutique” minority (BTW, I don’t know what “FWIW” means either … sigh).
OK, so I clicked the gazillion links and ended up at a news story about Rick Mercer. Ha ha! now I get it — Iggy’s mother never taught him how to cook for himself before she passed on and now he eats a lot of rubbery chicken…
Will Bob Rae streak across the set?
Does Iggy really want to bring up his mothers illness. The Grant side of the family was pretty unimpressed with him over the whole episode.
@ricardo FWIW = for what it’s worth
If Iggy wants to show the electorate “how seriously” he takes this job…..Rick Mercer during an election will show it in spades.
“You, me and two podiatrists!!”
Yeah that’s the ticket, the corns on his feet are bothering him…

I agree Duker. The only thing that would cause more puking would be if Layton or the “Green Hag” showed up too.
Mercer is going to debate MIA? That seems silly seeing as they are on the same side. Shouldn’t the headline be “Mercer to Lewinsky Iffy”? But really isn’t news or news worthy.
Oh Oh now I get it Mercer is going to moderate a debate between MIA and PM Harper. My bad. Still it must be tricky to moderate a debate while doing the Lewinsky on one of the debaters.

Iggula on Rick Mercer. This is like having Bary debate the Republican on the Jon Stewart Show.
How are we going to tell one clown from another?
I think Iggy has put his foot in it, in conjunction with the CBC and Rick Mercer he is determined to turn this election into a side show, uh a $300 million side show. OMG.
I am beginning to beleieve that the only one on one debate that would suit Iggy is one with the MAD HATTER.
To steal a line from Ray Stevens in his song about Obamacare, this election needs to become the Hokey Pokey election.
‘Put the Right ones in and the Left out’
And as a moderator, Rick would be certain to remain impartial?
Ya, for sure.
Election poll at http://www.Regina.CTV.ca.
What a childish jackarse.
Best moderator possible would be Jack Layton.
He wants both of their jobs, hates both of them, and he wouldn`t allow Count Ignatieff to make points that would steal his own thunder.
In the past, the LIBRANOs were Canada’s consumate politcians…..the LIBRANO back room crowd are not what they usta be but are not dumb enough to let Iggy debate even the “Green Hag”.
Jack Layton wants a one on one, he should take Iffy up on Mercer’s offer.
Layton vs Ignatieff,
winner gets to lead the coalition of losers
the LIBRANO back room crowd are not what they usta be but are not dumb enough to let Iggy debate even the “Green Hag”.

Maybe not, but they could raise some cash selling a pay per view No-Hands corn-on-the-cob eating contest between the 2 of them.
Most people here seem to be against it, but I’d love to see a debate between Harper and Ignatieff. It would be far better than any of the debates involving Layton and Duceppe, and not just because it would put those two in their place. A one on one debate offers the opportunity for real back and forth interaction. Sure, the moderator is far from ideal, but it would be a huge step in the right direction for Canadian elections, and there would be a chance of it actually shifting the polls from the stagnation we’d had over the first week.
If this whole debate thing gets any more CBC childish I’m joining in, might as well become a liberal, this acting like spoiled babies might be, result of to much daycare already. This little Iggy came to Canada/This little Iggy shoulda stayed home/This little Iggy thinks he’ll be PM/This little Iggy aint got a hope/This little Iggy’ll cry we we we we all the way back to Harvard! Oh my I almost became a childish lieberal CBC type, better get back to adulthood and leave the pre-pubescent stuff to “Rick Mercer”, another of Iggys twins polishers.
let rin tin tin lizzy moderate
she’d do all the talking and the other two could catch a few winks
Most people here seem to be against it
~Kevin Jackson
Most people here have seen too many debates where the moderator is a Leftist and does a crap job of moderating which allows the Leftist candidate to talk overtime and talk over the conservative candidate when it’s the conservative candidate’s turn to speak.
Oh, Iggy.. so relaxed, so with it, so common-touchy-feely. I mean, all the cool kids are totally into the CBC and Rick Mercer. I wanna vote for Iggy ’cause he’s such a fun, every day, laid-back kinda guy… not like that uptight elitist Harper, who doesn’t necessarily want some preening TV comedian hosting a “serious” “debate” about the future of the country as a gag.
Iggy’s like that desperately-wants-to-be-cool teacher who used to try to hang with the kids back in high school.
Should such a debate ever happen it would be like the debate between Ralf Klein and Nancy Betsy Whatshername here in Alberta. Ralf mopped the floor with her and hung her out to dry with out even breaking sweat.
Count Ziff is so unqualified and so ill prepared to discuss policy or consequences he will be running back to Russia (forget Harvard or England)out of embarrassment.
Bwhahahahahahaha!
One more time the link between Grandmother’s Corpse and Canada’s COP (creaking old party) becomes as plain as the beak on a rubber chicken.
On the other hand, that would be the perfect venue for Harper to announce the CPCs intention to privatize the CBC, not that the wimps would ever do that.
IDKIANBOSIGTHIAH
While the headlines at Bourque and elsewhere claim Harper is ‘struggling’, the latest Nanos poll shows Conservative support is growing, even in Quebec.
But you have to hunt for the results, ’cause CTV buries the data and G&M ignores it altogether.

= I don’t know if anybody noticed but our society is going to hell in a handbasket
(just say what you like and we’ll make up a whole bunch of new ones)
I actually think a debate moderated by Rick Mercer might work to the CPCs advantage. I suspect Harper is far more adept at the one liners that stuffy old Iggy is. Iggy’s sense of humour is…..well…..is….isn’t. It’s non-existant.

And Gilles can ballet across the stage in his hairnet.
Start with Iggy v. Jack. Winner faces Duceppe. Winner faces Harper. Provides a more truthful debate between the PM and his rotating (tag-teaming?) opponents.
Holy smokes, Stan. In that poll only 9% say they would vote Liberal. Train wreck, here we come!! Funny, the story on the page was about an accident involving a train and a little boy. hmmmmmmmmm.
Harper should ask for a different moderator. Mercer is a comedian, and is quite able to snap out the snide remarks of the trade,to Harper’s detriment.
A good comedian can deflect every Iggy gaffe with a humourous jibe while burying his opponent via the same route.
Harper should take Mercer aside before the debate and say to Mercer,” you know,Rick, we’ve been eyeing you for Governor-General a few years down the road”.
Might have a moderating effect on the moderator.
Now that I think of it,Ricky Gervais, the British comic might make a good moderator.
I hope that’s not the chicken from Ace of Spades HQ!

Some words about the number of letters, emails, etc. the CPC has received about defunding the corpse might be useful, too.
Who is Rick Mercer?
An Iggy-Harper tilt with Rick Mercer moderating would make this election worthwhile.
Speaking about Ace of Spades. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Greg Gutfeld combined are the Rick Mercer of the United States is one way of putting it.
wow I have been away from Ace of Spades for way too long

Louise I don’t know if you are from Saskatchewan, but ever since the Liberals formed a coalition with the NDP they have ceased to be a majour party in this province, other than our “Sell Out Ass Kissing” MP Ralph Goodale.
Louise, that was frickin’ funny. ~:D Almost as funny as Count Iggula with his shirt inside his undies. that just never gets old…
Gee,hope Iggy keeps his clothes on, skinny dipping with Mercer could expose more than his hidden agenda.
