A small band – of which I count myself among – have pushed for years for improving the quality of history instruction in the schools. Only a generation whose heads are filled with multicultural platitudes, and wholly ignorant of our painful battles toward unity, could allow this to happen. Somewhat ironic, but when I was a lad in school, which was a school based on the British system that had been exported to the colonies, boys and girls were in different classes for physical education from grade 1 through to the end of high-school. It was *not* done for religious reasons, just common sense reasons knowing the differences between boys and girls (these differences now being considered a politically incorrect topic today).
As a youngster I had a chance to be experience both single-sex and coed physical education classes, and I found the former far more enjoyable. I think kids today are being denied the opportunity to really enjoy school, and its no wonder so many drop out or do poorly.
However as for opting out of music class, I think these parents should go back to where they came from.

Harper will never be able to clean the outhouse called the Snivel Service, decades of denying non-whites into their employ has ensured the snivel service remains staunchly ubber leftwing. Fightening the political left must be done on the local level, it’s at this level the leftwing loon’s madness begins i.e. the color of our garbage bags, idling bans, protecting every patch of dirt by labeling it farm land.
I listened to some of Adler’s speech yesterday, and had some mixed feelings.
On the one hand, a lot of students must be happy they don’t have to smell 20 day old sweat from a muslim unrobing in the change room.
On the other hand, forcing them to participate in even the most insignificant activities may have a “Giuliani effect” on the group. Giuliani had the idea that going after the minor criminals, NYC would eventually improve its attitude toward all crime. His experiment worked better than anyone could have predicted.
There are other groups that make requests to opt out of school activities, and we usually let it slide. That’s what gave the muslims credibility on this one. I think the school needs to reconsider what’s optional, and what’s mandatory. My kids are excellent musicians, but never took music in school, past grade school. They got a much better music education at a private conservatory. They were great athletes, but not from taking phys-ed. School phys-ed teachers are useless. They hurt more kids than they ever help. Any coach or athlete will back me up on that.
Before we get too involved in an expensive fight with a group with no intention of ever participating in Canadian society, we should decide if it’s worth the bother. Remember, muslim pilots only want to learn how to take off. They don’t need to know how to land.
A majority government probably can’t fix these problems, but it just may erode the surface crust of Trudeupean sediment while temporarily preventing further layers from forming.
I can see the arguments unfolding like this ..

How are people unified by Trudeau-style multiculturalism?
Because there is little or no onus to learn a language (because some yahoo will always accommodate them), they are cut off linguistically. This means they are cut off from cultural and civic life. New immigrants DO form tribes, not simply regions where many of one particular number just settled. What made us Canadian unique or special is not just downplayed but erased and replaced with something so schizophrenic that it’s wrong. We are special because we are all different? There are many countries with different multi-ethnic, racial or cultural backgrounds. We are more special than them because….?
If there is no unifying voice or front, we’re an airport, albeit a picturesque one.
Assuming all cultures are the same is just absurd. Assuming that anyone coming into Canada cannot and therefore should not blend in smacks of paternalistic racism. Did the Chinese who built our railroads have the “benefit” of free ESL classes or anti-American leftists claiming their culture was equal to or better than another? No. They were badly treated and had only each other to lean on. Yet, they survived and thrived. Ask any immigrant prior to the sixties. They will tell you how they worked hard to be a part of their new country.
Why should that longing have changed?
All I know is that mens associations are illegal. Why would I care about other’s rights? Why would I pretend rights are equal and not a political construct? Why would I care about the greivance industry and the parasites that reside there?

In most cases I don’t even think it is political conviction that motivates ‘the left’ or ‘the right’. It simply comes down to vested interest and that usually means a pay cheque. How many people in our society make their living by interpreting life to the masses. It becomes a hugh movement to maintain and secure that position. Conservative politics which has a large fiscal accountability faction threatens the status quo. But even the ‘right’ suffers from a clear philosophical stance.
Buy more gold because the degradation will continue until the system collapses on itself. World debt has now reached the point that even a robust growth rate will not be able to service the debt. The window has now closed to a peacefull solution.
