Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

If only Egypt was the only crisis that caught Obama off guard like a deer in the headlights, but the scary truth is that Obama seems to believe that his cool swagger and a speech read from his tele prompter will get him through any crisis and it he’s absolutely dumbfounded when it doesn’t. From the BHP spill in the Gulf of Mexico, to health care Obama fumbles everything. His failure to close Gitmo is minuscule compared to the total absence of a federal budget last year.
Let’s hope that in 2 years the US chooses a real man for president, like Hillary Clinton.
I have to admit old and tired as I am, I “giggled” when I saw that caricature, but was it “Ed, or Barry”?
Oh, and thanks Kate, you made my evening.
Now that I have cooled down a bit, actually it is a great cartoon and describes what is happening to a T. Iran went down in Carter’s watch and Obama will have the distinction of having Egypt go down on his watch. These two are well suited.
Eygpt was protecting our interests, which is oil(energy) and stability. George and son kept a lid on it.
Eygpt will be a democracy. Eygpt will become a theocracy. The world will not be a better place.
Obambam always seemed more like a Wyle Coyote holding up a little help sign as he prepares for that thousand foot drop to the bottom of the canyon. Barry Obambam, geen-e-us; it says so on his business card.
Joe You’ve got it! Ok now you have given it to me. How do I get it out of my head. He’s even built like Wil E.
Gota just looove those left wingers though. They appear to be the only ones who can promote abortion on demand on the one hand and whine about capital punishment in their group masturbate-ory euphoria sessions with the other hand.
Sigh…
How do they manage it. Iran, enemy of USA: demonstrations over fraudulent elections. Obama tries to calm things down, stability is what counts.
Egypt, friend of USA: demonstrations to ouster Mubarak just because it worked in Tunisia, Obama says Mubarak has to go, stability be damned.
No consistency, neither in supporting allies nor consistently supporting democracy. No respect for other countries’ constitutions – if elections are scheduled for September, why not call for calm and stability with Mubarak until then. That gives our side time to help sympathetic people have a chance in an election.
The State Department and American foreign policy is really left-footed under Obama, from Iran to Honduras to Egypt, they have failed to support democratic options, squandered good will, and abandoned useful and consistent friends.
Karzai wins a suspect election in Afghanistan, we protect his regime, Mubarak wins all his elections by a landslide (no doubt with collusion from the ballot-counters), but to Obama, once some people start to demonstrate, it’s a done deal; Mubarak must go. He must think this is like the fall of communism in Europe.
There isn’t any difference between Mubarak and Karzai, except that Mubarak has been more useful to the USA, but now we’ve hung him out to dry, Karzai will notice, and to protect his hide will treat with the Taliban.
US influence is being absolutely frittered away. Obama should stay in the White House until his term is up and keep his mouth shut.
Bamby in the headlights.
So who would Thumper be, Nancy Pelosi?
?
is that harper or obie?
I’d like to remind people here of the rules. Stay on topic, and take your chit chat and troll responses to another venue.
Also, those of you who think that misspelling a word is the ticket to using profanity in the comments may find themselves banned. Stop doing it.
Re: Troll responses.
So just exactly what is the response you are looking for, your Majesty?
Sorry,I should know better.
I’m not sure GWB would b handling this much better than Obama. Condi rice said a while back that in egypt we chose stability over the chaos of freedom. Well stability is now gone and the kind of freedom egypt gets may look alot like what the Muslim Brotherhood’s palestinian chapter (literally) Hamas gave Gaza: one election then extreme violence followed by a radical theological fundamentalist dictatorship.
It is a very ominous sign that the VP of egypt – a solid option to replace mubarek was almost assassinated today.
While obama has been inept GWB might not have done much different in trying to support change but not give the MB too much credence.
At the root all of these recent uprisings have been over the price of food. The US (and its allies) have the ability to relieve that issue and done right, get some positive PR and provide support for the right kind of enduring democratic process.
You folks have forgotten. He lost Lebanon in the same week to Hezballah with a grinning Syria. Jordan may go the way of the dino also.
Add to this his disdain for Americas traditional allies, who frankly don’t trust him. Than there is the Red Media black out. I don’t think the States has been this isolated since before WW2.
Americans are being cut off from the World by their own Government.
Have you noticed latley how many US sites are not applicable to any others, but is In house only?
Thats its domestic issues that ride the INTERNET?
US citizens have hardly any Idea Jut how shaky they are seen in the rest of the World. Obama is the face of America. That face has been censored when it comes to foreign policy by a corrupt Media. That will not admit the mistake of backing this moon calf.
This guy make Carter look like Brainiac.
Its not that I,m smart in seeing this, its been the Liberal policy for Canada since Trudeau. Why do you think our dollar was lowered to dirt? To keep the peasants at home. Including a Canadian content by the CRTC of 40 %. Not even Cuba is that fanatical.
I Love Americans & the Constitution.
Frankly after all they have improved the World, they don’t deserve this nut undoing a Superpower out of Marxist madness. Beggaring ones own population for power.
Canadians are very familiar with this, we have lived it for 40 years. Where only now crawling slowly out of the socialist snake pit.
God Bless America.
JMO
That should be required reading for every school teacher and university prof there revnant dream. Too much truth and common sense in one short essay, would cause a leftie head to explode.
I’d like to know how Obama ‘lost’ Lebanon and how W’s reaction would be any different from O’s. Remember, they are the same, except that W would sometimes say something ‘tough’ sounding and that’s all it takes for Kate cons.

Take your pick, even the LIbs know it.

So close to a perfect cartoon. Just needed Hillary next to the great stag. Then again maybe she has already been run over.
The devil made us do it. Sorry.
But we do have to remember that over 50% of the American population put this buck in office. It saddens my heart when I realize that the freedom-loving blood-soaked land and it’s people have traded in that freedom for a socialist and Marxist leaning leader and his minions.
When a moral compass is stuck on itself it spins, and we see him spinning like a top.
Revnant Dream,
thanks, buddy, as always.
We’re feeling a little more positive these days as the Tea Party has been very influential in taking over the House of Representatives.
In our system, the House has the power to stop any initiative that the left might present.
And the victory in respect to the House actually had coattails that stretched all the way down into state governments. Actually, the election of new House members was only the top of the story as far as Republican influence goes.
This is not for one moment to suggest that Obama and his initiatives are not horrible. However, as some complain (justifiably so) about the American people electing Obama, I hope that they will continue this train of logic to reference the fact that this takeover of the House and many positions in state and local government is every bit as remarkable.
Gads, our local news just announced President Obama is coming to our town Thursday. Does anyone know where I can get one of those WTF (Winning the Future) T-shirts, I have to have one to greet dear President. On second thought, I probably wouldn’t get within 400 feet of the front door of the auditorium if I did.
“A deer in the headlights” might be Obama on any other day but his handling of Egypt was all him. Let the chips fall where they may. He doesn’t have to clean them up.
Another result of the “melting pot” has come to pass. I am referring to O’Bummers’ election. Although, it was forced immigration in many ways(slavery), the blck vote was the deciding factor in his election. As I said at the time to a friend, “He better do a good job, because if not ,he will be the last black President you will see for a long time”.It will be viewed as a failed experiment. There is a post at Mangans.. Muslims in Europe… Albert at 12:55.. Apparently posted by a State Department employee.. Makes for unsettling reading.but fits and perhaps explains the attitudes of our “betters: all over the civilized world including here at home..I am not good at links, so I hope interested people can find it.
