  1. Guess we won’t be seeing or hearing Patrick Moore on the CBC any time soon. Dr. Fruit Fly’s head would explode.

  2. “Global warming” is absolutely a left vs. right political issue.
Is that maybe because it people on the left lack a critical thinking gene or what???

Indeed, very doubtful. However, I’d expect to see him as a regular on the upcoming Sun TV. I’m very impressed to see him profiled on Fox Business. Articulate and well-spoken, he is an excellent spokesman for the sane, apolitical, science-based environmental movement.

  4. Patrick Moore is putting out a great message, but there were moments where I wanted to slap him hard across the side of the head.
Why? He is spouting his blurb like a robot leaving no opportunity for his hosts to get a word or question in.
    That’s just rude.

  5. As with the Muslims who treat a former Muslim who has decided to leave the faith,
the Warmists hate this man above all else. Get into a conversation with any warmist about him, and watch the rage in their eyes.
    Apostacy to the AGW religion.

  6. Abe – you’re right that he was not a good interview, I wonder if it’s because he’s had such a rough go during interviews with a less considerate media. I’ve not seen one before this, but one could imagine him having a tough time on the CBC or CNN, for example.

  7. Mike,
I seriously doubt he will be a guest on CBC or CNN anytime soon.
He knows where his message is welcome and who his friends are, he needs to relax and make his message a tad more interesting. The steady drone makes others anxious … for it to stop.
Nevertheless, I am grateful for his message and we need more of those disaffected leftists to come forward.

  8. I’ve seen him a few times. He used to focus mainly on criticizing GreenPeace, et al. He seems to have expanded his message a bit.
The comment about geothermal heat pumps is interesting, but he must realize about 90% of the population has no way of building one. You pretty well have to own some land. I wonder if there’s going to be a movement like the one pushing for wind energy. I think I see an angle here.

  9. Now I remember reading about him – he’s been pilloried for many years as a traitor for having first been strongly anti-nuclear (see the above CBC archive) to being “in the pocket” of the nuclear power industry. Well, I wish him Good Luck and I shall keep an eye out for his work going forward.

  10. He said it all.. the uneducated (earth PhD’s) Communist activists took over the environment movements…
What he didn’t say was that the low life Lawyers are the driving force.. The US ninth Circuit is a seething pit of snakes… They file lawsuits against themselves (collusion) such that they get friendly Court Rulings (setting a controlling precedent) hand cuffing economic development. The lawyers are the real life gangsters
The elimination of the US ninth circuit is the single most effective way of stopping all the Environmental nonsense.. The “real” damages to society need to adjudicate in a legitimate Court of law.

  11. Like Bjorn Lornborg, Patrick Moore, as far as the greenie movement, and anyone associated with it, might as well have horns from his head, hooves and a forked tail.
These guys aren’t reading from the radical script, therefore, they must be expunged and thoroughly discredited.
Patrick Moore comes with street cred, as founder of Greenpeace. Just wish he would self-promote a bit more, or let a network do it for him. This may be where he is true to his own principals, and not ‘sell-out’…..he is still a child of the sixties after all.

  12. Now thats a real environmentalist , not a leftist feel good tool or Religion they have created. With the goal to see humanity reduced to half a billion while they the Elite live like medieval princes. The World their extended garden.
That he seer’s where this is going (To an energy entropy brought about by Marxist Gia worshipers.) astounds me. Shows he has given this a lot of thought.

  13. Outstanding!! And I don’t disagree with him talking over the other people as they were the people that tried to interrupt what he was saying with some stupid question. He was the show, they were window dressing, pure and simple.
Let the boy play. Best thing I’ve heard in months, if not years.

All to the good. The sooner those two propaganda machines bite the dust, the better.

  15. “Dr. Fruit Fly’s head would explode…”
    Love it.
But I wonder in which one of Dr. Fruitfly’s three lavish houses that the explosion would occur. At least he does not have a 100′ houseboat like AlGore.
Oh wait…owning only one home is reserved to us, the great unwashed who are apparently too stupid to know what is best for us.
And coach…it only takes about a third of an acre, pretty much a normal building lot, to have a geothermal system installed…They are drilling down, not out. A friend of mine just installed one.
The problem is that it costs between 30 and 40 thousand dollars, and that is a bit of a stretch for most normal people.

  16. As Moore states, since the take-over of the green movement by the authoritarian radical left, environmentalism is no longer about conservation per se. It’s not even about preservation. It’s about confiscation and prohibition – creating people-free “green zones” around the globe – by whatever means necessary.
Greens have a distinctly anti democratic anti humane agenda. Most of it’s core philosophy revolves around designing methods to depopulate earth.

  17. Not necessarily true Bruce. The ones that I’m personally aware of are horizontal- about ten feet below grade.
These may not be tapping into a high heat source, but using well-above freezing temperatures in winter, with the added benefit of being useful in the summer for its cooling capability.
At that depth, there’s really not much of a seasonal temperature variation, but conceivably a 20 to 30 degree C ambient variance in winter and in summer.
It is true though that this is only supplemental, an extra energy source is still required for heating in a colder climate.

  18. The media should be giving Patrick Moore the same exposure as they do the lefty dimwits Gore and Suzuki. But don’t hold your breath waiting for it.
The left thinks they have a winning formula, scare the crap out of people with false environmental issues and at the same time say that they have the answers.
    Occam nails it well @6:37

  19. You can do geothermal by going vertical or horizontal. If you have land then horizontal is cheaper. Big apartment buildings being built in Vancouver have vertical geothermal systems.

  20. Love this guy for leaving the dark side, but reading his opinion from a script or reader board isn’t very convincing. Anyone can do that. Not suggesting he go “I have dream” on us but how about some “I really care about what these dirtbags are doing”. I don’t know, like Greenpeace does.

  21. Ezra Levant’s “Ethical Oil” has a good segment on him, and Greenpeace. The only multi-national environmental organization allowed in China. Of course, Greenpeace China spends its time talking about how evil those Canadians, Americans and Swedes are (we all have nuclear power, the horror!) whilst promoting the green-friendly Chinese nuclear plants that are installing windmills (that will provide, at peak, 0.3% or so of the installed power capacity of the plant). What else would you expect of mid-level communist party members like the leadership of Greenpeace China?
An excellent read, I advise it to anyone who’ll be talking energy policy with a greenie.
