New Zealand’s Climate Science Coalition has issued a press release detailing the end of the Kiwi-gate affair.
The outcome is that data published in 2009 by New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) entitled ‘Are we feeling warmer yet’ has been abandoned and replaced with real, unadjusted data that shows a picture that warmists don’t want you to see:NIWA makes the huge admission that New Zealand has experienced hardly any warming during the last half-century. For all their talk about warming, for all their rushed invention of the “Eleven-Station Series” to prove warming, this new series shows that no warming has occurred here since about 1960. Almost all the warming took place from 1940-60, when the IPCC says that the effect of CO2 concentrations was trivial. Indeed, global temperatures were falling during that period.
Well, it’s only New Zealand, right? Well, there’s lots more chewy chart goodness here!

Thanks to Kate, loki, WUWT and many others for keeping up the effort to inform us about the status of the AGW, or what ever the latest term is,scam. It appears that slowly the tide is turning.
Now if only the people of Vancouver would realize that they elected a George Soros soldier as mayor.
I have long suspected that Aus and NZ governments both, have drunk the AGW kool-aid because the UK has. Although my discussions with the average “person in the street” both throughout Aus and NZ indicate that there is general disbelief in the theory, their respective governments have been relentless in advertising AGW as real and irrefutable. It seems that they are in lock step with the UKs MET office.
The tragedy is that we have very real problems to deal with, and only limited monies and resources to address those issues.

This is my anecdotal experience as well. I harbor no qualms about publicly expressing both my disbelief, and disdain, for AGW. It’s quite remarkable when I do so, folks will drop their guard, and quietly agree with you.
Also, bit of a nit pick, R. Ed. AGW does not merit the notable status of theory, as far as scientific methodology is concerned. It is, at best, a hypothesis. In my opinion, it has never left the realm of scientific conjecture.
The scientific method goes as follows:
Conjecture –> Hypothesis –> Theory –> Law
If we’re going to win this battle, even minor adjustments in the language we use are important, IMO.
I’d like to see a list of public/political people who publicly claimed “the science is settled”. Might prove useful next election, both here and in the US. CBC is a lost cause however, don’t bother listing them as nobody (except lib/GTA types) watches them anyways.

That idea has a lot of merit. Predictably it would incite a storm of protest by the usual suspects…inspiring perhaps yet another list.

In the seventies, the first green wave included the anti-nuclear energy hysteria. I always found it interesting that one could determine how one voted by their stance on this issue. It became very apparent that the left-lib-fascist mindset latches on to primal fear and readily exploits ignorance in it’s mission to seek power and continuously grow the state. For these people, including much of the political class, the resulting hysteria and political disposition converge with such zeal so as to effectively replace other faith-based surrogates of reason. Thus, the apparent lack of ethics and scientific discipline when statist agencies and those funded by the political class engage in corrupt narrative reinforcement rather than science.
This phenomenon is actually a revised version of class warfare where the AGW scam is the means by which the ruling and political class conspire with the state-nurtured (designer-ignorant)dependent class to further control and destroy the dynamic private sector of the economy and restore the near universal misery of serfdom. Their biggest impediment is the freedom of communication in information, now mostly via the Internet. The left-lib-fascist mindset has no qualms with restoring media censorship.
I was just reading the Northern Ireland news and it seems the freezing weather has now cause a serious water shortage. People have no water to drink, bath or flush toilets and it’s been going on for days.
I haven’t heard anyone blame AGO for the shortage yet but I’m waiting.

That is, the previous NIWA result is robust. In terms of the detail for individual sites, the 100-year trend has increased at some sites, and decreased at others, but it is still within the margin of error, and confirms the temperature rise of about 0.9 degrees over the last 100 years.
