Hmmmm…assuming the test is actually designed to deter questionable asylum seekers, not to quantify gayness, I’d have to say that the Czechs have had “fabulous” success in achieving their real goal.
Open a massage parlor in Vancouver’s West End with one of these machines and you could make a lot of money.
I like it. I just watched a newscast on CTV that seem to be designed to generate sympathy for that muslim fellow that has been held on a security certificate. BS.
We (Canada) can only have sovereignty if we can control our borders. It should not be our onus to prove that immigrants are acceptable.It MUST be on their shoulders. Any hint of possible terrorist ties should be enough to send them back to where they came from.
If they lost their passport on the plane ride over,put them back on the plane until they find it. The airlines will deal with the situation better than our gov’t is doing now.
Having just read Kate’s post above this one,I may be wrong with my assertion that the airlines would handle things better.
They finally painted over it but through the 1980s the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health had the words “ministry of truth” spraypainted on the front — and they actually left it up!
I am unsurprised that the designer of this Czeck outrage lives and works in Toronto. For our government.

I’m not sure why people find any problems with this test. Someone from an islamofascist state claims they’re queer in order to seek political asylum and it’s either watch them 24 hours/day to see if they hook up with local queers or perform a simple physiologic screen.
The only problem I have with this test is that the sensitivity of penile plethysmography is reduced in stressful situations given the adverse effect of sympathetic stimulation on penile tumescence. What would be needed to increase the sensitivity would be to give a PDE5 inhibitor an hour before the test is conducted. Given that the men are from backward islamic countries, one should also throw in rear views of sheep or goats to determine whether the potential immigrant might be a danger to the local livestock.
aah loki, good point concerning sensitivity in stressful situations. Although PDE inhibitors have been proven effective only while riding camels bareback.
