Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I think Cherry was referring to the lot of rather pathetic sports “natterers’ the Canadian media has, but left wing pinko media not knowing what their talking about (in particular hockey) as a broad brush tarring is accurate enough for me.
Blue may be gone but he left Don his fangs.
Go Don go . . .
He’d make a damn fine PM.
Don for Pres.
Don for PM, Pres, mayor, councillor, chief of police and parish priest!
Don’s is great at what he does.Love him!
He was never into the politically correct stuff.
PM?…uh, no.
Colonel Ron gave a little nod there eh?
Along with being one of the only man with a pair of balls in Toronto media, he is an extremely benevolant man. Check out how much Don Cherry gives to minor hockey etc every year. That is a quality no left wing pinko knows anything about, giving their OWN MONEY, it is always taxpayers money the left dole out, globull warming…
Correct call: Pink and bleeding heart go together; toss in the media to make a perfect picture of today’s Canada.
I’ve no idea what he was on about, but 95% of Canadians nodded in agreement just as Ron did I’ve no doubt.
Don, never shut your gob! We’d be a duller place, and I love you for not being afraid to be YOU.
Senator Don Cherry
Rock ’em Sock ’em Senate Vol 1-20. In stores by next Christmas.
😀
People running down Don Cherry have NFC what he actually does beyond HNIC on CBC clips. Many, if not most all of his detractors couldn’t come close.
Don is a treasure; the warm breeze on a cold day at the CBC; a scourge of the elite and friend of everyday Joes.
But what the hell was he thinking sticking up for Fantino?
Supposedly they’re buddies, but there’s a time to shut up – his endorsement of Fantino let down a town of “everyday Joes”.
I wonder when the committee will take back Don’s Order of Canada.
Cherry should moonlight as the CBC ombudsman, might shake the organization up a bit. 😉
the greatest irony of all, posted on a site that’s a mouthpiece for the new left in Canada, the Conservative Party of Canada.
Who is that guy? Had to laugh…
Don’s rant was about the state of hockey and the road the NHL is on toward no physicality and mandatory visors and how trying to sell this watered down product to the states is misguided.
Cherry also set up and helped fund a facility for women with breast cancer in remembrance of his wife who died of the disease.
Good old Don! I love that guy.
Sounds like a spot of the Asperger’s…
Curious…Don can’t be a Senator…born in 1934.
Very sad.
‘Ain’t no Ron Maclean without Don Cherry.
After Don Cherry’s wife, Rose, died in 1997, he helped fund Rose Cherry’s Home for Kids which has since been renamed The Darling Home for Kids in Milton, Ontario. It provides paediatric hospice care and respite services to families within communities in Ontario who have children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses requiring complex care and/or technology-dependent care.

dmorris writes: “I wonder when the committee will take back Don’s Order of Canada.”
I wonder why, finding himself in the same club as Henry Morgentaler, Don Cherry hasn’t send his Order of Canada back with insufficient postage.
Why doesn’t he tell us what he really thinks?!
Roseberry – I think he wants to keep it in hopes that Sue Johanson will talk dirty to him!
Its why Don Cherry is an Icon in this Country. He shoots straight!!!
Roseberry
What!!! Why loose his centerpiece, hung right over the toilet no doubt.
I bet he could care less. Guys like him only see the Stanley cup as legitimate. An award earned by sweat & blood with skill.
Not a phony political award by a professional class of suck ups.
