More Pavilions At Folkfest

BBC;

Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have “utterly failed”, Chancellor Angela Merkel says.
In a speech in Potsdam, she said the so-called “multikulti” concept – where people would “live side-by-side” happily – did not work.
Mrs Merkel’s comments come amid recent outpourings of strong anti-immigrant feeling from mainstream politicians.
A recent survey showed that more than 30% of Germans believed Germany was “overrun by foreigners”.

  1. From the linked article: “The study – by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation think-tank – also showed that roughly the same number thought that some 16 million of Germany’s immigrants or people with foreign origins had come to the country for the social benefits.”
I think it’s safe to put that one in the “no $hit, Sherlock” file.

  2. And we have Pierre Turd-oh to thank for our multi-culti mess.
$billions and $billions wasted to build a utopian dream world that results in ethnic ghettos, ethnic tensions and the end of a real Canadian dream.

  3. “A recent survey showed that more than 30% of Germans believed Germany was “overrun by foreigners”. This statement would about fall in line with what we heard in early September in many different Baltic coast countries. In Finland we additionally were warned to hang on to our wallets as gypsies and their propensity for having light fingers was a problem.

  4. When was the last time an economically-stressed Germany started to rail against foreigners?… Just wondering (hint: it has something to do with socialism and parades)

  5. Would that Canadians that express the same feelings were heard and acted on by our government.

  6. sorry sean…i gotta call bullshit…
and btw you win the Godwin’s law prize for today.
1…germany is doing very well economically..kay?
2…back in the ‘guten alten zeit’ you refer to der Vaterland was not ‘railing’ about foreigners in their midst…unless you consider Jews who had lived there for hundreds of years or more as foreigners…
care to recast your comment closer to whatever point you were trying to make?
and of course there is no charge for the service i provide you…i simply wish to wean you from folly..it’s my mission…actually it’s all i got going for me….

  7. I don’t think it’s the French, the Spanish, the Finns, that are in their “non traditional areas” nor the Poles or Latvians ect… there’s a real big elephant in the room that some will go the distance for to avoid mentioning his name, or offending him, or especially drawing his picture.

  8. Sean, John Begley is right. Germany is one of the few countries in Europe that is able to bail out the ones that are belly-up, thanks to their decades long devotion to the nanny state.

  9. Well, hallelujah!, and pass the ammunition.
I’ve talked to numerous second and third generations of what I call “old immigrants”: Italians, Czechs, Portuguese, Chinese, etc., who came to Canada to make a better life for themselves and their families and who worked their butts off, often at two or three jobs to make a living.
They are steaming mad about the “new immigrants” who come here to live off our hospitality, who prove to be a burden to hardworking Canadians, who have no intention of assimilating, who go on welfare, and to top it off, use our laws against us and our way of life: We all know what group I’m talking about.
Sarkozy and Merkel are getting the picture, a little late, but better late than never, right? It’s time to speak up and push back. It’s time to chuck the politically correct crappola, speak truth to lies, and tell these people: “‘You don’t like life here in Canada? ‘You use our laws against us to try to impose your way of life on us? Well, we don’t like it. We won’t have it. If you don’t like life here in Canada, then get out. No one’s forcing you to stay. Go back from where you came. We won’t miss you. ‘Got it? Capiche?”
As per your comment, Fred, about Trudeau’s Utopia: Multiculturalism was a beard to rid Canada of the scourge of its English, Christian heritage. He did a good job of it, and has left Canada a total disaster, a mess that PMSH and his CPC are valiantly trying to clean up — ‘hard to do with the Three Amigos sitting across from them in the HOC.

  10. Leve ity to Germany to muck up its immigration and multi-culti stuff.
I mean, our stuff is a lot better, eh? I mean, it can’t happen here, eh? Eh? EH?

  11. It appears that the EU is adopting EURO-ENGLISH as the new language of commerce as set out below.
    English for the European Union
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English
will be the official language of the European Union rather than German,
    which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that
English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-
year phase-in plan that would become known as “Euro-English”.
In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”. Sertainly, this will
make the sivil servants jump with joy.
The hard “c” will be dropped in favour of “k”. This should klear up
konfusion, and keyboardskanhave one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
troublesome “ph” will be replaced with “f”. This will make words like
    fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spellingkanbe expekted
to reach the stage where! more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have
always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent “e” in the languag
is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th”
    with “z” and “w” with “v”.
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining
“ou” and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu
understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze
    forst plas.
Vell if ze lingua franca is BIER, zen vee say for Oktoberfest:
HEBE HOCH, HEBE ZWEI MAL HOCH
    Oans, zwoa… Gsuffa!!!

  12. indeed Louise….the squareheads are alright…
btw i reckon this is some kind of vindication for thilo sarazzin…and i read that erdogan is sucking up to merkel after last weeks chat…guess for all his previous bluster that muslims PERSIST in their otherness in germany he now sees that 12 million turks returning from Germany to turkey might not be so cool….12 million turks expecting the same arse licking social service wise that they’ve become used to…
gives me a frisson to think on it..

  13. “Spaniards can be impressed by the courtesy of the conqueror,
French by his riches, Greeks by his respect for the arts, Jews by
his moral integrity, Africans by his calm and authoritative bearing,
but Germans are impressed by none of these things. They must be
struck into the dust, struck down again as they rise. Struck again
while they lie groaning, while their wounds still pain them; they will
respect the hand that dealt them.”

  14. @John Begley: my point is that the EU treats Germany like its piggy bank and fobbed a whack of Greek debt on it. While Germany’s growth rate should be an annualized rate of about 3% (quite an accomplishment but may reflect some subsidies), that rate is tenuous, especially if the EU comes back to shake that little piggy once more to bail out Portugal.
I don’t think Godwin’s Law applies here (but I am interested in knowing what the prize is… I love surprises!). I was saying that tight economic times tends to bring out extremism at both ends of the political spectrum, like the riots in Greece, the unease in France (then again, Paris isn’t Paris unless farmers are dumping loads of manure on the steps of the National Assembly). And I guess it’s not a good time to be a gypsy in France. Anyway, I appreciate the request for clarification. Glad that it’s a free service. 😉

  15. The links in the multicult chain prison are falling apart.
Before you know it the English might start
just showing Germans there even more tired of
    “guests” becoming Masters.
This is good news, along with Geert.
It shows Europe is tacking away from the cult of PC.
If the Germans bring this skeleton (Silence about true Islam) out of the closet, its going to cause real talk. Real debate.

  16. The fascinating thing about the idea of multiculturalism is its complete absence of logic and reason.
It asserts that people – and we are all one and the same species – but people who have been socialized within one culture to the extent that on the surface, these populations function as a multitude of isolate and separate species– can move to a different culture, and be not merely allowed, but encouraged to retain their isolation.
How, then, do they interact? Ahh, they aren’t supposed to. This is the insane axiom of multiculturalism; people are not expected to interact and work together except in the most superficial manner.
Instead, these different ‘peoples’, now defined as ‘unique and separate species’ are meant to be kept apart from each other, answering only to themselves, ignoring all others, even deriding and dismissing all others. The govt even funds them to retain this isolation, including language services in their ‘old language’ such that the newcomer can live their entire life in Canada and never learn English.
Therefore, what’s the point of coming to the new country? In the ‘old days’, immigrants came for a better life and their basic agenda was to work with others of all backgrounds to strengthen and enable this better life. The idea was to work together.
Along came multiculturalism, and we see the new immigrant is focused, not on working with others, but on enriching only themselves, their kin, and their kind. This enrichment, in their view, doesn’t come from their input and work, but from a faceless amorphous power, The Government. This power is expected to provide everything from housing, education, medical care, transportation, food….whatever. Just because.

  17. It’s easy to say that anyone who doesn’t speak German isn’t welcome, I’m still skeptical about what they can do about it. I mean aren’t a lot of the people in the ghettos are german citizens. I suspect is a bit of pandering to attract new political acolytes. I mean isn’t Merkel’s approval ratings at an all time low?
“i simply wish to wean you from folly..it’s my mission…actually it’s all i got going for me….”
John didn’t you have another post that was also forlorn and dejected? I think someone needs to give John a hug. I’m not a hugger so you’ll just have to settle for an internet bro fist.
    http://tiny.cc/19kk8 There you go.

  18. This is one trend I hope Canada does follow. What we don’t want is to be the last western country that figures out that ‘multicultural, generous benefits for all, bring granny along, too’ immigration isn’t working. Otherwise, we’ll end up with entire fleets of economic refugees sailing to our coasts.

  19. sorry sean….
discontent with the gastarbeiten existed loooonnnng before the soi-diant economic unease you think Germans are feeling today…and aamof..which they aren’t to any marked extent…..
what you said in your comment was that Germans will soon be doing the Nazi thing like they did before…
and that’s why you won the Prize!!!
    the booby Prize!!!!!
so sean me lad…the unpalatable fact to you is that someone named Merkel isn’t being nicey-nice…that they’re being MEAN!
just you wait til next year sean me lad…just you wait….you’re going to see some not very nice birds coming home to roost.

  20. Trying to take Beer away from Germans is about the equivalent of taking away wine from the French.
The hardcore Islamist can’t and won’t hold their liquor; it’s against their religion.
Europe without beer or wine, well RIP…
There is no way that a teetotaller law would even come close to passing in the Reichstag.
And if the Reichstag burned down that would be an Islamist plot…
Re’Merkel’ble that Angela would send out an Oktoberfest gift; so I will hoist a few for Deutschland!

  21. the romans never pacified germany….everyone knows that….
M ?…. thanks for the offer of a hug but i don’t do that hug thing…and as for ‘forlorn and dejected’ ? heck…that’s the way i feel after the life i’ve had…considered a pariah by decent folk and all…an outcast so called polite society….a pi dog…if you care there’s a pitcher of me by brueghel…called the ‘wayfarer’ i think..
    it’s me dude..to a ‘t’….

  22. I used to ride BMW motorcycles — a LOT.
Having been broken down on the road one too many times, I went Jap (Yamaha).
I used to joke with a rider-friend that our bikes were built by German Turks on Friday afternoon just after Friday prayers at the Mosque.
    Maybe that was no joke!
Have a peek at Pamela’s little videos on Muslims in the German public schools.

  23. Sean – I lived in Munich long ago when I was in very early adolescence, and I can tell you that the Turkish gastarbeiter were completely threatening. There’s no projection here, and I was not indoctrinated by anyone – if anything, I was probably smirking about Nazism like you @5:47 – I just quickly learned that these guys were stalkers, given half a chance.
Of course, having never been a 13-year-old girl, you probably find it all a little abstract; but to me, Muslim immigration issues often come down to “and how will this ruin the lives of women?”
I’ll put it vulgarly: Guilt over having murdered millions of civilized Jews should not entail importing hundreds of thousands of barbarian Muslims.

  24. I agree, Black Mamba. In addition, given the situation in the ‘-stans with little boys and livestock in other parts of the Muslim world, you might want to add “and how will this ruin the lives of women, boys and goats”. Well, maybe not the goats but you get the idea.

  25. Let me correct my lazy clihed idiom: You didn’t have to “give” them “half a chance”.

  26. (hint: it has something to do with socialism and parades)

    Interesting…
They run off all da Jews,
and the vacuum is filled with this Shiite.
    Gods Payback?

  27. It’s not the immigrants fault for the way things evolved. The Prog leftist pigs told them what to do and what to say and how to act, and some of them did what they were told. The others are the ones you never hear about because they’re out there just trying to make a living like the rest of us.
We need to place the blame on those who caused these problems and not the people who are its effect.

  28. LC Bennett, I often think of you as Elsie Bennett, having initially mistaken you for a man, larben (sorry about that); i.e. ‘I used to have this girlfriend known as Elsie, with whom I shared four sordid rooms in Chelsea; she wasn’t what you’d call a blushing flower, as a matter of fact she rented by the hour…’
(This is a German musical, sort of, and therefore On Topic, *ahem*.)
Blame Crash – the European progressive left or whatever those elites are called imported huge quantities of uneducated, tribal peasants from a fundamentally hostile culture and isolated them in banlieues (I rather prefer that term to “ghettos”, somehow), refusing as a point of pride to try to integrate them, indeed making all efforts to keep them seperate, and all in the name of “multi-&u(&!%g-culturalism”. Now Europe has no children of its own, and the population of France is apparently 10% Muslim. Somehow this is meant to appease Anne Frank’s ghost, even though fanatical Muslims hate Jews. If you have a problem with this arrangement, you are a fascist.

  29. Nice summation, ET!
This appeal to tribalism benefits those of the political class who care not about individuals, but more for taking stock in both entry columns of their political ledger in order to make their decisions based on what is likely to grant them power. It’s much easier to do if you can divide citizens into tidy little groups.

  30. Joke is, it would probably have worked out awesome if not for the whole welfare system.
America worked, after all. Right up until the DemocRats f-ed it up and the Republicans let them do it.

  31. john begley at 6:09 PM, I did not know that Erdogan had met with Merkle. If that’s what she threatened him with, I can certainly see why he might want to soften his bluster a bit, but then again, speaking out of both sides of the mouth is a common trait in that part of the world.
I should think a few other nations in Europe should be making the same threat and making it believable. Sarkozi seems to have some ball. I don’t know about the rest of the lot though.

  32. Finally a politician in power who dares to speak the truth. Actually a truth that was self-evident from the start. If the native citizens of the UK, France and Spain had a say, they would articulate the same message. When will other political leaders have the same honesty?
A basic simple fact is that you cannot have a country or nation where none of the new-comers agree to assimilate. It is a matter of culture, not of colour or point of origin.

  33. Multicult only works when the cultures have compatible values and when numbers remain small enough to lead to assimilation. The great experiment is a fail in all western countries who have allowed incompatible minorities to reach the critical 10-15% level!!
A lot of poor third world immigrants do not get on so well in the west, as there is too much of a learning curve for most, with illiterate parents, estranged from Canadian society, trying to raise Canadian children. Canada must severely limit and target its refugee program, as well as take a very hard look at family reunification and off-shore wife recruitment. We are being so stupid, just as Germany and most other EU members! And our economic migrants are avoiding taxes too. We are naive idiots!!

  34. uh…I say richfisher old cock…that’ll be MR. Begley if you don’t mind….that’s Mister with an M….a capital M.
you DO know what an “M” is don’t you old cock ?
i was going to ask exactly what your smirking esoteric remark to me meant but decided i don’t give a shit….and apparently no others do as well…
so ah…what time do you regularly go job hunting in the mornings?…perhaps we could meet and …you know…merge…..do the starbucks thing…you could show me where the best dumpsters are…stuff like dat…old cock.

  35. 30% of Germans thought that Germany was being over-run by foreigners, you say?
And 70% are foreigners, so that makes sense, nein?

  36. “Apparently the Left’s Big Multiculturalism Experiment has resulted in the following conclusion:
    It divides society.”
Unfortunately the left never learned the lesson, as in England where the labour party purposefully and admittedly shoved multiculturalism down people’s throats.
